Any electronic machine capable of participating in running the protocol of the blockchain network. Nodes makes up the network and when one node is down it doesn't affect the network. Like in corel draw nodes are connected to other nodes to shape an image, without nodes the network cannot exist, though its impossible to have no single active node.

Doing the tiniest bit of web search; between Learnmeabitcoin, The Bitcoin Wiki and Bitcoin Stackexchange, such beginner questions are answered without asking them over and over again.

I also strongly believe that people learn better (and make the forum a better place) if they think about a question, look it up through a (decent) web search engine, or the sites I recommended above, before asking.

Running full node using Tor means privacy, but noncustodial wallet means full control while SPV type means no privacy. Running full node still means online, do not see anything online to be completely safe. You can connect cold storage or hardware wallet to full node or your own server.

Thank you for this responds, well we have several sources to gain knowledge about any topic we fine interesting for our understanding, why I choose to ask the question here on this forum is because of the fact that one can get misleading information from the various search engines.

Well, you are right!
But as a newbie --you should not also rely on other opinions, always verify what they have said because it will perhaps answer their wrong perception or wrong thought. You should also study technically about bitcoin and how it runs the full nodes, I suggest a Youtube video is quite good that can explain very well than reading articles. There are too many sources that you can gain knowledge regarding how nodes work -- and I think you need to have DYOR for this.

Sure; but emphasis on 'the right question'. The right question is one that has not been answered here and elsewhere thousands of times. And it's not even crucial in the sense that if a newbie were to misunderstand 'what a Bitcoin node' is, it wouldn't put them at risk or anything.

It would be more important to make sure they don't misunderstand the importance of keeping a seed phrase secure or something of this sort; lack of knowledge on that topic is actually maliciously exploited in the wild.

Also keep in mind I never recommended a specific search engine, but specific sites that have correct, well-explained articles on almost all beginner questions. You should have made a thread that features those sites and maybe the most important pages from each site.

That would have been more helpful; kind of a 'Beginner 101 must-read links' collection that would actually answer tons of different questions.
Instead of a dedicated thread for a single, for beginners probably relatively niche, question, in which you don't even answer the question but ask people to do it for you.

if you are going to run a bitcoin node try to run it on a vps mostly nodes are run via this setup, where in you just need to buy it online with a certain specs there is a certain price for it , per year using pc would not be a good idea.

Thanks for sharing the link and I have followed other suggestions on the thread to learn more about Bitcoin nodes and very soon I will be setting up one on my PC.

I already ordered for comparable PC that could ru d Bitcoin nodes effectively as my old laptop lacked the necessary memory to run Bitcoin nodes.

Am diving more into practical practice very soon and I will keep this thread updated as I progress in bitcoin technicality.

Technically, there are a couple of different types of nodes and they do different things depending on context.

Generally speaking, there are full nodes, mining nodes (miners), pruned nodes, lightning nodes, lightweight nodes, and cloud nodes. They all verify all of the transactions and all of the blocks on the blockchain but not all of them keep a complete record of it.
