$8 LNbits DIY Wallet

This is probably one of the cheapest and easiest DIY hardware wallet, and you can make it literally in few minutes including loading firmware!
It's not the safest hardware wallet around, but firmware is open source and you can flash it online with Chrome/Edge web browser or compile it yourself.

Only thing you need to buy is TTGO T-Display ESP32 device that cost less than $10, but it should work with all ESP32 devices like M5Stick, M5Stack Core2, ATOM Lite ESP32, etc.
LNbits can be used with Legend OnchainWallet extension, but other wallet applications can be used.

Since I had ESP32 device for long time collecting dust so I tried installing firmware but connection was not working so I had to install few drivers CH341SER, CH343SER and CP210.
After few minutes everything went smooth and firmware was flashed in few minutes, and I was able to connect device with Legend LNbits OnchainWallet.
I already 3d printed two plastic enclosures, so I now I have one more device I can use and they even support Taproot addresses.

Note that you have to enable Onchain Wallet in extensions of Legend online wallet, and than open it before connecting with device.
This wallet is great for Lightning Network, LNURL, SplitPayments, SatsPay Server, etc.

Where did you find the display so cheap, I have a few of them but they all cost me *a lot* more then $10.
Other then getting the drivers installed when 1st flashing it any other issues?
Looks cool, but as you said it's not the safest and the cheap ESP32 boards are fragile and the better ones are not cheap.

I paid it less than $10 when I order it but price could be different now.
This is not separate display, everything is already included in the same package for LILYGO ESP32 T-Display, and you can order it directly from LILYGO website, amazon, ebay, aliexpress, or locally.
You can also order additional keyboard kit extension and make it look like calculator or Coldcard wallet.
Only extra thing I did was downloading STL files and printing enclosure locally for $1.

No other issues for me, other than I had to disconnect device few times to make it work.
I would like to see some instructions for Legend wallet, but it's not rocket science to figure out how everything works.

I know it's not that secure, but is there a way to make backup of this hardware wallet? I checked both installer and GitHub page, but didn't find any relevant information.

You have the option to import seed words you generated before, maybe there is a way to generate new ones, but I saw the option to make a backup.
Legend LNbits Wallet does not have any instructions, and it's not so intuitive for navigation so I didn't explore everything yet.

Place where you live could affect the price, since import duty tax could make it really expensive. On place where i live, TTGO T-Display ESP32 costs starting from $16 (excluding shipping cost).

You can find them literally everywhere online and offline.

I find this thread very interesting, I've been wanting to try my hand at producing a DIY hardware wallet for some time, I also saw that it supports lightning network! I would like to know since you haven't updated the thread for some time if you have encountered problems, both on the hardware and on the software side

Everything works fine and I didn't have any problems, but I am not using it very much and device is just ''sleeping'' in one of my tech drawers.
I remember there was some small issues during initial firmware and software installation, but this was related to my operating system, not with device itself.
Device I used was dirt cheap and I printed my own case, so it's easy to do it yourself.

I don't know if it works with M5stack (not confirmed on website), but I used TTGO T-Display that works fine, and you don't really need to have any keyboard for this.

Fantastic! great to know that your creation still works and without major problems, as soon as I find some time for myself I will also try to build this HW, I wanted to ask you with which operating system did you encounter problems with firmware and software? If I were to encounter the same problem Can I ask how did you solve it? Thanks in advance and congratulations again for your creation which I find really fantastic
