Hello everyone!

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered. Unfortunately, I have not found anything about it.

I found this logo, it was probably created in December 2009, when Bitcoin Core 0.2 was released.
Is this the very first graphical representation of Bitcoin?
Did Satoshi make this logo?
Where could it be seen at that time? Any Sources?

All I could find from Satoshi about the logo was this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64.msg561#msg561

Thanks!

I don't think so, but I was curious too, so I looked it up. According to the results, the logo, as it is depicted below, resembled a gold coin with BC text embedded in the center when bitcoin was initially created 13 years ago.

However, on February 24, 2010, Satoshi Nakomoto unveiled a new logo with the letter BTC encased within the gold coin.

In addition from the previous post, after satoshi published the big B logo which is an update from the first iteration of the BC design and the incorporation of thai baht currency having 2 vertical strokes in it, a member by the name of bitboy published a new design[1] that is much more modern and minimalist in which he referenced the big B logo created by Satoshi, which also remains the design we use today.

This is a good subject to me, it might have been on the forum before, but I have never seen something like this till now. Well, my advice to you is that you should not worry yourself about this, only Satoshi could tell the truth about it as many tests and samples would have been carried out before concluding on the recent design. Just like the name, Satoshi remains a mystery as we only know the pseudonym for reference purposes, such you are seeking can't be fetched, it will remain a mystery.

No, it's not the one. I don't know where you got it, but it looks like a variation of the Bitcoin logo that we're using now, which was originally suggested by bitboy. I guess the earliest logo was the golden coin with the BC in the middle. The BC was later on replaced with the BTC that we now use, but the coin and its color or the background remained the same. This was finally replaced with bitboy's version: a white BTC slightly slanting to the right, in Ubuntu font, and with an orange-colored circle as a background.

It would have not been appealing to the eyes if the first logo remained the logo till date.

One thing to notice about the transition of Logo is how though the logo changed to have a better face, the main function and purpose behind its creation of bitcoins did not change.

Another question to ask is if there is any possibility that the present logo will still undergo any further retouching as the years go by?

Okay, i found the logo here: https://bitrev.net/%D0%B1%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B8%D0%BD-%D1%85%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%B8%D1%8F-eb61dc72f6da (hope the link works)

The page is in Russian, but if you use the translator, it says the following:
Quote
December 16, 2009 - Bitcoin Core 0.2 was released. For the first time, the Bitcoin graphic symbol appeared on the icon of this version - the Latin letter B with two vertical lines, similar to the American dollar symbol ( $ ). Initially, there were two Latin letters BC on the Bitcoin icon.

So, according to the text, the logo should most likely have been created between the BC and and B Coin logo.
So it is NOT the very first version of the logo. I would still be interested to know where this logo came from and where it first appeared. I can prove that with the Waybackmachine further down in the text.

Yes exactly, that was also the only thing I found too.

I don't think so, but I was curious too, so I looked it up. According to the results, the logo, as it is depicted below, resembled a gold coin with BC text embedded in the center when bitcoin was initially created 13 years ago.

That's what I thought, too. The image files that Autumnleaf posted can't be accessed today either. But there should be at least a hint.

If you look at Waybackmachine, how the download page looked on 08.01.2010, as shortly after the release of 0.2, then you can see that the old BC logo was still used.

But why does it say 0.2 in the lower right corner? And why would someone fake something like that?

You surprised me with this question, how many people had claimed that they are Satoshi Nakamoto? Of course, many of them. For that same view/reason alone, anyone could come forward to claim anything for themselves and their website, in some cases to gain recognition. People could do things for any reason, that's why I maintain the ground that only Satoshi could explain from the beginning to the end the challenges he faced, the prototypes of things before they eventually made into the bitcoin we are seeing and appreciate today. And this must come from a channel that is well known to be linked to him, not otherwise
