I agree, injuries are probably one of the worst aspects of any sport, but at the same time they are inevitable, athletes take their bodies to the extreme so it is natural there are injuries along the process and no one was at fault for this, however it seems the recovery of Inoue will be fast enough and Fulton is willing to wait, which obviously makes the fans really happy about this as I really thought the possibility of the fight being canceled was very high.

Actually, the expected recovery period is already extended to the point that Inoue should be 100% ready.

Stephen Fulton obviously will wait for that patiently as in the first place, he even doesn't want to win with that advantage.

But my worry here is if Inoue won't make it up as 100% fully healthy on the expected date of recovery, this fight might not happen anymore.

We shouldn't be concerned about that possibility, as it would be unwise for Inoue to go into the fight if he's not fully recovered. It would be disrespectful to the current champion, and if he were to lose, he may use his injury as an excuse. It's important for us to see Inoue at 100% healthy and ready to compete against the defending champion, Fulton.

It's because Inoue doesn't want to fight that he is not healthy, simple as that. Although there could be boxers like Loma for instance who got injured and still proceed to the most important fight against Kambosos and he clearly lost. And after that fight, we just learn that he has that shoulder injury that's why he can't fight the way he wanted.

But in this case, Inoue and his camp doesn't want to do that, or at least Inoue going through the pain of fighting because it's not going to be very good and his performance might be hindered by it, hence we might suffer his first career loss.

Inoue's injury is linked to the source of his power, and he won't take any chances by not fighting at 100%. As the challenger, his best chance of winning is through a knockout, which he's known for in his fights. Although the fight is scheduled for July, and the injury isn't considered serious, Inoue is taking precautions to ensure that he's fully recovered and ready to compete.

That's the risk of coming back prematurely. If Inoue loses, it could hurt his future and diminish his value. As the current top-ranked boxer, losing to a champion who is not as popular could be a huge setback. Inoue needs to be smart about his return and not force things. He should ensure that he is 100% ready before making a comeback. Pride is insignificant if it results in an unexpected outcome. It is expected that Inoue's camp will wait until he is fully recovered from the injury he have got and will not make any hasty moves to waste this opportunity as this will determine if Inoue will be an instant 2-belt champion or not. As of now, there's no problems at all because Fulton's camp is not showing any signs of resistance towards this fight and it is safe to assume that he will wait patiently until Inoue is back in his usual form. Let's just be positive that this fight will materialize in good fate.

This is excellent news for the upcoming fight. As a fan, I don't mind the postponement as long as we have a new date for the bout. With this update, we no longer have to worry about the fight's uncertainty. The mega fight is still on, and I just hope that Inoue's power has not been affected so he can display the same ferocity in the ring that we've seen before.

Yeah, I guess that's once trait of the Japanese people though, I mean they are very apologetic in a sense and so when they say that Inoue is injured, they will have to come up with a new date and probably this is what they come out, a end of July fight.

And we also have to commend Fulton as well, because he understands the accident that happen to Inoue in training and so they have to announced a postponement early. But we have a new date so the fight is still on. I think it might not bothered Inoue, he just can't change his style, just because of his hands. If it heals perfectly then I think he will still have the same or even more power.

I agree, Kudos for Fulton as he is willing to wait after that incident, he didn't demand anything but he was willing to wait for the new date, good thing that his camp will not look for anything but will wait till Inoue is ready.

Now there is no chance for Casimero to request for title fight against Fulton until Fulton fights Inoue.  I thought this incident could be a good chance for the camp of Casimero to request a title fight against Fulton after his fight against Nghitmumbwa.

Good thing that there's a date to wait after the postponement of the schedule fight, they need to
wait till Inoue got better condition after the accident injury.

Yeah, at least it is not a total cancellation of the fight but rather just a move of date until Inoue is recovered and able to fight in the ring perfectly.  This will prolong the discussion, prediction and speculation about the Inoue and Fulton title fight.

That was too much to expect, mate. Too early for that eligibility.

Casimero even for let's say, wins against Nghitmumbwa, won't include his name right away in the title match discussion. There are lots of challenges first that he needs to face before being recognized to be moved up by rankings. He will go there soon but for now, he just needs to win each of his future fights.

Let's just be positive that this fight will materialize in good fate.

Everything is good and the re-scheduled date was July 25 (shared by @Baofeng).

Good thing the rescheduled date is not that much longer.

Naoya Inoue and Stephen Fulton reschedule hotly anticipated fight

Always a smart thing to do on which you should come into a fight with having that full recovery or totally healed rather than on going into with having those doubts and being unsure if you are okay.
You do have a career to protect on which it would really be just that normal that you would really be making out decisions which would favor you.Whether the opponent would really be willing to wait
or would be moving up without having needing to wait for their injured potential match up but Fulton wont really be that dumb to let this opportunity on facing up Inoue considering
on how popular he is, then he know that if ever he would able to beat him up or into his first lose then for sure it would be boosting up his popularity.

suffice to say, their camp's decision to postpone the match is good. it will give a very good recovery for their boxer and won't regret anything if this has been push thru and lost.
anyway, we already have the date so the fight is still happening. for fulton, he has a lot of time to prepare. hopefully his camp is not disappointed for this suspension. fans are waiting for a toe-to-toe fight. both are champions so we will see if inoue can go up with the weight class without hiccups.

This is a great fight for Inoue, fighting against a champion and undefeated, this is surely not an easy fight for him. However, despite my belief that it's not an easy fight, I would still be rooting for him to win, simply because I followed his career and I find him exciting to watch.

Not easy, as Fulton is heavier than all those previous fights that he has before, but knowing him, he will adjust and he will try to showcase everything to make things happened in his favor.

Let's wait and see if how he will entertain his fans after recovering from his injury, few months
of preparations good enough for both champs to train.

Naoya Inoue already considered and recognized Stephen Fulton as the big opponent he will face in his career right now. Therefore, expect that Inoue will obviously adjust once they meet each other in the ring. Likewise, Fulton of course will do the same.

Both boxers are champions in their respective league. They truly know how to adjust and it's just that, who will have the better adjustment.

I'm looking forward to a close fight with these champions and that's more entertaining to watch instead of a landslide victory.

Both boxers are champions in their respective league. They truly know how to adjust and it's just that, who will have the better adjustment.

I'm looking forward to a close fight with these champions and that's more entertaining to watch instead of a landslide victory.
Yes, this is still a big challenge for Inoue, no matter what we say because this is a new division for him and he will be facing the best champion at 122 lbs. And that's why maybe Inoue really pushing himself in this training and got injured.

This could be the closest fight after the 1st Nonito match for Inoue.

Fulton might be the underdog, but sure enough, he knows it and is willing to stake all the belts on the line just to face one of the biggest puncher in lower division and test himself.

And for that, best assume that Naoya Inoue will make a heavy preparation in this fight because he knows and by your words recognized that Steph Fulton is not an easy wall to break through. We all know what will likely happen once Inoue is serious, he will be a different monster and will try to be more dominant in the fight, and while the fight is getting intense, Inoue will evolve more until one of them will survive the fight and have it on their favor.

Same here, it's much more entertaining and fun watching two boxers going back and forth in the ring because the fight is just so close and intense. The last time I see Inoue having a good fight was the time he first encountered Nonito Donaire.

Yes you are right that mate Inoue must be prefers a lot for this as we all know that Stephen Fulton is not just an easy opponent event though inoue is still the favarate here as we can see how he fight in the ring but still need to be careful because Fulton is aiming to win for this match of curse and he will prepared as well he will have a good strategy, he will have a good technique for sure .

But in this case, Inoue and his camp doesn't want to do that, or at least Inoue going through the pain of fighting because it's not going to be very good and his performance might be hindered by it, hence we might suffer his first career loss.

At the end of the day, boxing is a business, and a boxer's value is crucial.

Lots of people been that optimistic that Inoue could beat up Fulton without any problems which we do know that we cant really make out conclusions yet considering that Fulton is the belt holder
of this division owning 2 as far as i remember and then Inoue did decide to go directly which he might have a plan on dominating this division which he would really be aiming directly on beating up
on whose on the top which a bit that too in haste but we cant really deny on what are the capabilities of Inoue when it comes to speed and power punching.
For sure this wont really be that an easy fight considering that he's fighting for another champion.

The last time I see Inoue having a good fight was the time he first encountered Nonito Donaire.

Also the first time that Naoya Inoue received a fatal damage in his career during a match and being sent to hospital right after the fight. That leaves to several 'if only' thoughts about what would happened if prime Donaire  instead meets prime Inoure.

However, it's also worth noting how good Inoue's strategy is to bounce back on that fight even having a difficulty to get back on rhythm. What he did is turning into slow phase on several rounds to buy time to recover. After regaining his rhythm, he didn't waste the chance to take advantage of Donaire's showing lacking of stamina and he ended up in a unanimous decision.

I hope Fulton will also able to give Inoue a tough fight to the point that we can't even predict and speculate who will win until the final bell rangs.

That was during the super bantamweight tournament, both of them face a lot of good boxers who still campaign at 118 lbs and they are the two boxers who remained on top of the tournament. But it seems that Inoue is just starting to peak and enter his prime and so Donaire give him hell in that fight and even broke the orbital bone of Inoue that needed operation to fix it.

But after that lost and when Inoue recover, it looks like he learn a lot from the experience with the Donaire fight and then starting to become the monster that he is now known. And even if they fought the second fight, it was a different Inoue and Donaire couldn't simply cope up with that power and he was brutally knockout in 2 rounds.

I think Fulton will still have the confident because this is his division and he has fought a lot of good fighters too. Specially against Brandon Figueroa who is one good volume puncher with decent power as well. And I thought that in some moments in that fight, he will go down from the barrage of punches from Figueroa, but he withstand it and won the fight. So most likely his chin will be tested by Inoue obviously but perhaps Fulton thinks that it wont' break as he has experience fighting punchers in this division and he hasn't been knockdown. But it will be tough fight for him as he will travel to Japan, Inoue, home court.

This is correct and I agree with. After that tough problems Inoue faced on his first meeting with Donaire, even he won that match, he make sure he won't allow that to happened again and wasted no time in finishing Donaire in a much quickest possible way on their rematch.

Fulton on the other hand already faces big fights against those recognized top ranked boxers in the super bantamweight and that's a good experience and reference on what he should be expect on Inoue once they clash.
