I must admit that I have a lot of altcoins in my wallet and have half of that total in bitcoins. I don't know what percentage between bitcoin and altcoins I have, but my bitcoin savings are worth more than my altcoins. My altcoins consist of coins in the top 100 list, and waiting for altcoin season to come back so I can sell them at peak prices. And right now, I want to increase my bitcoin amount instead of my altcoin amount because I feel I have enough altcoin reserves, and it's just a matter of time to sell them.

I usually invest 70-80% of my assets in Ethereum.
This is a one way of beginner's mistake and this may be the right time for converting your ethereum or altcoin investments into bitcoin. Instead of doing with ethereum or any other altcoins, you should do for the same 70-80% with bitcoin for securing your future. If you are a short term player which is the reason why you are dealing with ethereum, in my opinion, you are again making another blunder mistake. Realize about the true potential of long term planning with bitcoin and plan up for conversion as soon as possible.

My altcoins consist of coins in the top 100 list, and waiting for altcoin season to come back so I can sell them at peak prices.
Unfortunately all the coins in top 100, not scaling its peak at a time. It means we need to cash out whenever one coin gets into profit zone. I am also holding lots of altcoins to sell off at break even points as I have lost faith on them to make me rich.

My portfolio is mainly Bitcoin and Ethereum also. There are some more but less than 5. They're mostly the most solid altcoins like LTC. I think my portfolio is safest with the most trusted and established cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin of course should have the largest slice of your crypto portfolio, followed by Ethereum, and the rest. It is logical because Bitcoin is the safest and the best choice. Ethereum is the second of course. No doubt about it.

ATOM, DOT, Kusama will be a good diversification of Ethereum. For long-term investment, it is better to buy coins that do not look like stocks and were not sold at the ICO.

Nice. I'll be putting ATOM, DOT, and Kusama in my growing list of coins that I need to DYOR for possible investment. I guess I need to give it a proper time to check them 1 by 1. We still have over a year though to study and accumulate coins that have huge potential to grow in the expected bull run next year. I am just so excited.

I might also move all my remaining local stocks into cryptocurrencies this year. If it happens, it will make my crypto investment portfolio about 80% to 90%. I just felt more comfortable for crypto to have a better performance in the next 2 years.

Tell me about your coin portfolio weight.

Sadly my portfolio mainly consists of small cap projects, which i have bought back in 2020 and 2021. Back then during the last bull market i was heavily in the profit zone with those profits with a portfolio value that was like a x100 from my initial investment. Of course i did not sell anything back then because obviously i was hoping that the price would get even higher and secondly i did not want to sell those tokens before i held them 1 year. If you hold the tokens for more than one year then you don't have to pay taxes on the profits in my country.
Of course now my portfolio value is down at least 95% or so because small cap coins always lose way harder during a bear market then the big ones.

I don't know your country of origin, but in some countries the government has implemented a tax regime where the government cooperates with exchanges for tax revenue. Every trader will pay taxes automatically when they trade their assets, it doesn't have to be paid by you by reporting taxes yourself.

Of course now my portfolio value is down at least 95% or so because small cap coins always lose way harder during a bear market then the big ones.
If you are willing to take the risk then you are free to do so although in the end you should realize that the big profits you get from altcoin are down to luck. I mean every altcoin you own has no real use case, you just hope for volatility, and if you make a profit sell it and convert it immediately to bitcoin.

Tell me about your coin portfolio weight.
Do you mainly invest assets in Bitcoin and Ethereum?
Or do you usually invest your assets in Altcoin?
I usually invest 70-80% of my assets in Ethereum.
It composed of Bitcoin, 40% for the altcoins allocation and 20% for trading.
Diversifying is not easy actually because its hard to choose on where to put your money and you might afraid to lose some opportunities as well and this is why I allocate some of my funds for my trading just to catch up with the trend and just to avoid missing the opportunity. I also practice DCA and I think its becoming worth it now as the market continues to recover.

This needs proper DYOR if you want to pick a new project on your own, it's a high risk that could anytime you will lose.  I sometimes do this and follow the trend and the hype is over and your profit was there, there's no need to become greedy and wait for more profit to come, divert it into a new one that has a trend.  It's very risky but if you're lucky enough it's profitable.

That's why if you want in a safe position in investing crypto, just give a large allocation in investing Bitcoin in your portfolio because every coin will follow the Bitcoin trend, if there's a bull market, every coin will follow.

I would agree but I would say 50% bitcoin is enough, then 25% ethereum, and the other 25% should go into bnb and ltc a bit, and the rest could go to whatever you want. I would say 10% on bnb and 5% on ltc and the other 10% on smaller stuff that they want to invest into. That would make it 100% and would also have 75% on guaranteed good stuff, even 85% if you consider bnb good as well, it's at the top at least, third biggest altcoin.

So all in all, I agree with you that bitcoin should be biggest, but having 70-80% on bitcoin is too much, it should be a lot less, and that way it would make a lot more money and it would definitely be something profitable in the long term if you wait for like a decade.

I invest mainly on bitcoin and I think it is 70% of my current portfolio. It is a little big for just one asset but I expect that it will be reduce as I also started in investing on small or potential altcoins. I estimate that my bitcoin holding will occupy only 50% of my total portfolio volume when the time I sell it at an acceptable price. I think that my bitcoin percentage on my total portfolio will go down because I think I will keep buying altcoin in the future with my own money and I don't plan to touch my bitcoins. I'm doing DCA but it will be a slow paced when bitcoin started to rise it's value.

It is not a bad idea to invest heavily on bitcoin, after all if you take the time to study how the previous bull runs evolved you will notice that at the early stages bitcoin outperforms ethereum and most altcoins as well.

It is not until the bull run is confirmed in which altcoins begin to catch up to bitcoin, so it makes sense to invest more heavily on bitcoin and as the bull run advances then you can switch to altcoins to increase your profits even further.
