https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/12/02/africa/guinea-football-crowd-crush-intl-hnkAfrica in the football news again in a bad light. A football match in Southeast Guinea has left not fewer than 56 persons dead as club fans clashed due to a controversial decision given by the match officiating referee which spark fans into what led to a stampede in the stadium. Football is believed to promote peace bringing people together but unfortunately it's heartbreaking to see it marred by violence. What a sad turn of event. Why always Africa? The banter in Africa football is much and the fans don't usually use their common sense when they are taking actions, they are always after violence which will never help African football to promote, and that's why we are always below the Europe in many aspects. The African referees also have their own side of the blame, they are always bias which is as a result of bribery collected from any team that wanted their favor; if African referees can take correction and officiate the game with standard procedure, African Football will get a good rating across the world, If it is social media banters, then it is for fun and makes the game interesting but anything physical confrontation should be totally and holistically condemned. Violence in football is not just reserved for African football because it happens everywhere, just that the case of African football where security of the stadium is poor might be the reason why it happen often. Funding of the various leagues too should be a factor because if the leagues are well funded, they would make adequate preparations for security and that will check some of these incidence. Perhaps, these violence might be the reason the home teams always win, to avoid violence on the visitors and officials.

violence is football is part of the game, it is only pronounced is some African games because of the lack of proper security at stadiums and the obviously bad officiating that also take place in most African football games.
Violence can never be part of football in anyway because football organizers does not promote any form of violence in field, however if violence should be part of football as you said we would have been seeing a lot of fight in every match both with players and the fans watching, so since the effective use of VAR it has almost changed the way most players react to each other because whatever you do you can never go Scot free because they would revisit it and see what really happen, however I have not actually seen this level of violence in the field to the extend of killing 56 person in Southeast Guinea, is it that there was no enough security in the stadium or what?. I was wondering why he said that violence is a part of football. If violence was a part of football, do he think that football would have gotten this huge interest and participation across the world? He should have tell us the reason why violence is important in football because football is different from other sports that has a very high violence in it, such as boxing and some other ones while gambling is free from such activities and the only violence that normally happen at times is just a little misunderstanding from players which is very normal and still after that the player will get a card for creating or causing such seen and secondly the popularity and acceptance is because of how peaceful it is so if there was any sort of violence people would have go for other sports by now because nobody would find it entertaining watching so many people died all in the name entertainment.

I couldn't just think but take it as a typing error that Hewlet made because nobody in his right sense would say such scrab that violence in football is part of it. We haven't seen in any way, someone addressing violence being part of football. There is no connection between the two because football is for entertainment purposes that draws people together in one love and unity irrespective of their age, skin color, or social status. Let's just take the words of Hewlet to be a typographical error and speech made, nothing serious.

Apparently, football riots has been for ages but in today's modern football I think it has drastically reduced in many parts of the world we see football as lucrative business and provide measures to ensuring it's mitigation to the barest minimal. The media moderation isn't exclusive to those continent even in Africa there are occasions of this kind in some countries domestic league's that the media don't flag off. If erecting the iron barrier around the pitch would be helpful then it should be made compulsory for every stadium to build.
The reason those iron barriers were removed from stadiums was to modernize football, not just in Africa, so that it does not appear that anyone is watching the game from a cage and to provide a physical connection with the players, but some parts of Africa are beginning to abuse that privilege. Attacking players, ruining stadium facilities, and causing nuisance in stadiums. Bringing back stadium iron barriers is not something that any club/country would want to do right now; they simply need to sanitize fans entering stadiums more, and anyone with a violent background should be barred from entering stadiums.

This act of violence is barbaric and they have to ensure to take a control measure over such, the incidence of people dying only at the cause of watching a live football match should be handled amicable in other to avoid a reoccurrence in case of next time, because once it comes to dealing with the crowd, we may not be able to achieve maximum cooperation form the spectators, especially when they have gone outraged due to any decision made by the football officials, the country may face a serious sanction for engaging on such and this will later make them not to repeat such aggressiveness any longer.

Didier Drogba: How Ivory Coast striker helped to halt civil war in his home nationIt was a great emotional event that happens on the Ivory Coast then when the players pleaded for the peace of there nation and from what the entire country saw on that match there heart meltdown and see that they are one, so actually this is to show how powerful football is, if perhaps there was no sports will there fight stop the way it did?, Soccer is one of the sport that always has a way or make out a way into bringing two different enemies to become friends and even take each other's more like a brother, so perhaps you are right that Hewlet must have stated it the way he never intend to because nobody would see all this things and still talk about violence being involved.

Football is believed to promote peace bringing people together but unfortunately it's heartbreaking to see it marred by violence. What a sad turn of event. Why always Africa?
People who are quick to use violence, in my opinion, are doing so because they are mentally ill. Because a person in good mental health will realize that such issues do not warrant the use of violence. In nations with thriving economies and contented citizens, we hardly ever hear of this. This kind of news will deter people from actually attending games in Africa, which will increase the low attendance rate for games—which was already a problem in African football. What steps can be taken to truly prevent these occurrences from happening again, and does the government need to be involved?

It is so bad that people can't even control their emotions when it comes to football. Football is a game of fun that their is no need for fans to have hard feelings when it is not in their favour. It is so dissapointing to hear news like this because by this modern age people are suppose to understand football very well. It is very sad that people can choose to do whatever they like when a decision doesn't go the way they want it. If people don't learn to take away emotion from football I believe situations like will keep on happening.

Some fans are just too emotionally attached such that they forget they were supposed to just have fun and enjoy the game and not necessarily bringing in the violence they will cost lives.

Sometimes when I see things like this I just chuckle, because it's absolutely ridiculous to see fans who are not eating for being a fan rather having fun turn themselves to enemies of each other for what reason? just cuz they love a club that is paying it's players are referees for whatsoever decisions that they take on pitch. It's absolutely disgusting to see such news, perhaps southeast Guinea needs to serve some punishment or restriction for a few time at least that will serve as warning to others while fans will have to control their emotions.

Sport is not to be taken for violence, they have to see to this situation before things got escalated to other things beyond expectations, I understand the people have their own right to voice our but not in the attempts for violence, agitation or any unlawful manner of showing reaction over a situation, also, there's a need for reorientation from time to time, sonthatbthe spectacular will have more enlightened exposures towards the right way of behaving or handling a situation, we cannot expect that things go on the same way with the people, everyone has his own way of understanding as well as attending to situations, but in some circumstances, we may need to develop forbearance on others and be considerate as well.

It seems Augustine Eguaveon will not keeping his job for long even though he qualified the Super Eagles for the AFCON. NFF have decided to employ a new coach in January. The quality of the quality of the foreign coach may be lower than the local managers we have. The timing is wrong because we have the World Cup qualifiers to prepare for. How much time does the manager have to access the players and find a strategy that works for the team.

We lack discipline in Africa, we have people that bring their family problems to the game and some of them have bet their whole life savings on the games so whenever there's a ruling that go against them winning, they lose control and we begin to see events like what you're reporting unfolding. This doesn't happen in only African though because we have same events happening in other western world but the difference is that, they usually get theirs under control but over here, it's every man for himself. We have people of different cultures and attitudes coming together to watch a game therefore we shouldn't think they can always keep their differences aside and enjoy the game. Sometimes fight will happen but it's how we managed the situation that matters and we're poor in that aspect for now.

If we can be honest to ourselves, I think we should be able to tell that Austin Eguavon's performance with the Super Eagles in recent games haven't been convincing and for a nation like Nigeria that needs to get the national team back to being globally competitive again as soon as possible, getting a better experienced manager wouldn't be a bad idea. If appointing a foreign coach will help the Super Eagles significantly improve from what we've been seeing in recently, I fully back such move by the NFF

He had like what, just a few games to prove his worth? Maybe the reason we aren't doing so well is because we're constantly changing coaches and going for the next shiny coach every few months. That might be the problem as all coaches have their own philosophies, playing styles and strategies and when players manage to start adapting to a new coach's strategy, the coach gets changed again and they have to start from scratch to learn again. Rinse and repeat. The coach that took us to the AFCON final earlier this year had a defensive strategy that the last two coaches after that haven't had. That's an example.

If we look at his achievements in the short time he’s been the manager of the Super Eagles, Nigeria under Augustine Eguaveon was able to qualify for the AFCON. For me, that should be enough for the NFF to trust the manager and give him time to balance the squad. I think the main issue here is that the NFF doesn’t have faith in indigenous mangers and believe that they must get a foreign coach to get the best results.

You're right, we cant keep on with changing of coaches like clothes, some of them also needs time to get used to the players and their respective pattern of play, also, in every setting, there is a need for one to give time on something before concluding on the achievement or failure, one may started small and eventually perform better in the future, if the coach tries his best, it is left on the players to also make his glory shine by playing well.
