Because of the FUDS and the bad things that happen in the industry, all of it has a big effect on the price of Bitcoin, which is why you should understand how the market works and its volatility.

No one knows what will happen in the future of Bitcoin and no one can predict the price of Bitcoin. Most of the people are just speculating, some are just trading the current market or the current market trend. Some are speculation with some basis, like comparing the current price actions to the history prices of Bitcoin since the beginning, some are using technical analysis to come up with their speculation or prediction.

Although there are certain patterns seen in Bitcoin's price chart, I don't think it is strictly following a schedule for its price movements. Even that popular 4-year cycle is not guaranteed. A new ATH after the halving may or may not happen again. Nothing is guaranteed or scheduled.

But there are of course always reasons for Bitcoin's price movements. After all, it reacts to news and events and whatever it is that will affect Bitcoin. Generally, though, I think the movement is highly organic. Bitcoin isn't a pump and dump shitcoin.

The price of bitcoin is determined by its supply and demand.

If you closely examine the data from the halving season, which occurs every four years, you will discover that the price appears to rise more than anticipated during the halving season and that it then begins to decline (up and down) after the halving.

_act_ remark clarifies everything regarding the fluctuations in the price of bitcoin each year.

Bitcoin halves in approximately every 4 years.

The first year after halving, bull run
The second year, bull run
The third year, a very significant bear market
Fourth year, bull and bear market.

2018 was another catastrophic year I think lots of bitcoiners wouldn't forget, the crash was fast as compared to 2022. Do you know why 2022 captured so many media attention? That's because lots of institutional investors have all go in fully thinking we will be headed to $100k as many people has assumed but Luna, FTX crash killed the trust that has been built worldwide but nothing spoil. Lots of people speculate that bitcoin wouldn't past 2018 all time high that was $20k but here are we trading bitcoin above $22k and with time, it will mature as the bad guys are already out of the system or getting out gradually. No place for bad guys in bitcoin, they will always get exposed at the end.

There are many factors that can affect the price of bitcoin to decline over a period of time, and the current situation affecting the fall of bitcoin right now apart from other factors is the war between Russia and Ukraine which has affected global economy especially those countries of the West and a few in the southern pole. But despite all of these it doesn't make bitcoin to crash at any point, for bitcoin is not a shitcoin.

The most recent price dump is FTX and a bunch of other Bitcoin banks (Celsius, BlockFi, etc.) used FTX token to collateralize large loans and then when those FTX tokens were exposed as being worthless, those Bitcoin banks had to sell a lot of bitcoin to cover their loans and the price dumped.

I also recently came across a chart on Twitter that I can't find atm but it showed a nice graph that shows that BTC pumps for about 500 days following a halving and then corrects back down as the market cools off which causes a lot of the non-believers to sell off which pushes the price down even further.

In short, it might be a good strategy to buy more before the halving cycle via a lump sum purchases and then DCA ~500 days after the halving until we reach the bottom and then lump sum again. (not financial advice)

Bitcoin has cycles, namely bull cycles and bear cycles which are likely to occur again in the future following past movements, basically the principle of the crypto market is that every price goes up there will definitely be a decrease because when prices are low investors will start to accumulate purchases and when prices have gone up , investors will sell it again so the price will go down, this will continue to happen in the market as long as bitcoin is still in great demand, no need to explain at length to him just say that when the market is in a bearish phase, the price will fall and when the market has entered a bullish phase will make the price move soaring.
