2013 wallet. Only wallet.aes.json file

 Hi all.
Old user here, used another account but seems I lost it .
Anyway. I would like some kind of help.
Got a wallet backup from Blockchain.
I only have the file  wallet.aes.json
And the wallet identifier redirects me to dead end..
(Blockchain.com site saying the page I look doesn't exist)

I managed to log on Blockchain site. Seems I got wallet id. Got the backup file.

What next? I am clueless.. links don't work.. multibit ...(does it even exist anymore..)

You said you managed to log in? How?

Have you tried importing the file here[1] or using the recovery tool[2]? I know you need your password for that, but not sure if the seed is required too.

Logged on only to site. Since I have mine mail, restored account using the mail.
But not the wallet . Not option for cloud was given. And 2nd option with seed phrase not possible.
So just logged in.
Old password maybe I can find if it is still required.(among 10-20 possible I have in mind....)

So I need to try these 2? Gona try it.

Do you mean the tool I linked you to? If so, then no. That's not going to help you with that. It's only so you can decrypt your wallet.aes.json:

At this point you're only focused on password recovery. The aes.json file won't contain it no matter how well you decrypt it without a password. You'll only corrupt the file itself.

The first thing I would do before trying anything else would be to make a couple of back ups of your wallet.aes.json file.

So you can log in to your blockchain.com account by resetting the password via email? Does your account show your coins?

If not, then as above, your only option will be to break the password for your wallet file. I would also suggest using btcrecover to do this. If, as you say, there are 10-20 possible passwords, then this will be very easy to do. If those passwords don't work, then you'll need to create a tokens file to try variations on those passwords to try to brute force the real password. We can talk you through how to do that if it comes to that.

Take note that if you ever used that tool to decrypt your wallet.aes.json file (after recovering the password),
the private keys in the output will be in plain BASE58 format which doesn't have any network code, flag and checksum.
In other words, it's not readily compatible with most Bitcoin wallets.
It has to be encoded into WIF private key to be compatible.

The advantage though is you wont have to rely on their website and everything can be done offline where its safe.
There's no limit on how many tries so start with it using your mentioned 1~20 possible passwords.

Before you do this, learn how to use python or set this up ufcourse. this will decrypt the wallet.aes.json and show your wallet addresses and other important data such as private keys, wallet id in most cases.
