I am surprised that nobody has mentioned sports betting so far. I agree with the majority of responses that consider poker to be a game of skill, where luck plays a part in the short term, but skilled players can win money consistently. But in sports betting too.

Sports betting is also not a game of skill. Yes, the previous performances of the team will help you analyze the performances of the team but i would no call it a skill.

As skill is something in which you become perfect, will always give you rights results. However, in this case, no matter how well you know a player, the betting results will still remain uncertain and a weak team / player can also win the match and may give you higher odds if you take risk and bet on low rated players.

However if you were talking about offline gambling as well then blackjack will also become a game of skill capable of producing profits, as there are a few strategies you can use to become profitable, even if those strategies are frowned upon by casinos.

I will answer according to my experience
a game that uses more skill is poker. In this game, almost all gamblers know that just memorizing the type of card sequence, maybe it's very easy, but when we play poker directly against people at the table, it's not as easy as we imagine. because even though our cards are bad but we have a strategy to frighten our opponents we will surely win, depending on our strategy.
so I would say poker is a type of game that uses skill.

My unpopular opinion on this is that all online casino games are both based on luck and skill. The difference is that in some games, the luck to skill ratio is higher than in others. Totally agree! I think poker is the only game there that is a game of skill but all for them links to the game of chances. You learn to handle your funds which you can also apply in real life.

Slots is purely a game of chance, while Blackjack is a combination same with Poker, baccarat is also pure game of chance.  I say blackjack and Poker is a combination of game of chance and skill because when a card is distributed to the player, it triggers the chance of getting a good deck, then along the process, the player then make use of their skills like card counting (blackjack) and bluffing on poker to win the game.  Also strategy is greatly applicable for blackjack and poker due to some of its mechanics depends on the skill, while strategy on slots and baccarat is somehow futile because of the random results of the roll.

I've never played poker before, so in all honestly, I can't tell if it's a game of chance or skill, but what I do know is that most games that has to do with cards are mostly games of skill, where the gambler's knowledge and skill will be the determinant to whether he or she wins or loses the game..
This is what I think.

It's actually a game of both but to weigh these two, it all ends up with a game of skill. Because if even you're not lucky with your cards and if you're skilled in bluffing, that means that even having weak cards, you can still turn the situation and win against those high cards if they're scared of you bluffing them.
