Will the altcoin go up in price if the bitcoin price goes up?

It is because the altcoin is just following btc price not the btc following the altcoin. Because everytime btc rise altcoin will also rise and if btc fall the altcoin will also fall, it is always happening so this is not new to us and everytime it happens there is always a prediction and speculation but still no one can predict it.

It is true that most altcoin price is following BTC price. That's why when BTC is increasing significantly after BTC halving, most altcoins will have a bullrun season too. However, not every altcoin follows the same pattern, stable coins is an example of altcoins that move in the opposite way. Another example is shit coin, this coin may drop significantly when top altcoins rise because no people are interested to buy shit coins at that time. So, no guarantee all altcoins to follow Bitcoin price, be careful!

Because if bitcoin price rise the investors will also rise there are many investors that stop investing into altcoins when bitcoin price drop because most of the trading pair is paired by btc and if the value of btc down the amount of the token you can by in btc pair will be small and that was a big disadvantage. So the best part is when the btc pump or during bull season you can by different altcoins and wait till they rise and earn.

I think that is mainly because most of the coins are connected to bitcoin via price on the trading platforms. I think when the market has a biggest coin at the top, and that goes up, it is hard not to follow that together as well.

It's obvious that there are a lot of people who would like to see a different angle on this subject, they would like to see how they could be independent and even want to see their coins go up even without the market moving, but that's not going to happen. I personally believe that we should be doing something that is a bit more towards how we could handle all the market in a personal way and make a profit as a combined market together instead.

the pattern has always shown just that, bitcoin rising when there's also same occurence with altcoins in general basically they got their value increasing by a lot with the influx of the investment fund and usually the currently trending coin are the one that has the spotlight gaining most massive increase in value, maybe bitcoin rise just give positive vibes and good impression that's why.

Majority of altcoins goes high together with bitcoin and that is what I have observed over the years though not all of them has this movement at least those legit and good coins are acting best for the investors.
and also there are chances that after bitocin goes up? then the altcoin season comes and they are making its way high.
but of course never get this to  complete believing because there are side ways that may come along the way.

I think it will go back up again, this down is just a sell-off, people made a lot of profit if they bought at lower levels, nearly a double profit already and that seems like a good idea, I feel like they are going to do a lot better in the future as well. Hopefully they should be doing a lot better with time as well and bitcoin price will see a new ATH, maybe not right away but it will take some time to get there and eventually it will get there.

I hopefully see that it will get to a new ATH in a few years, and when that happens I will sell my coins too. I have been collecting enough, maybe I won't sell and wait for a few more new ATH's for a few cycles later, but at the end of the day I will never sell under the current ATH price, not a chance, it would be silly to do that.

As far as I know, most altcoins prices increase when Bitcoin price raises up. Altcoins prices mostly follow the price trend of Bitcoin. That's why people call Bitcoin as the mother of all coins since it determines the drop or rise of almost the whole crypto coins. Anyway, you must understand that altcoins prices are more volatile than Bitcoin price.

that is more like investing that trading though, the thing with trading is that usually the timeframe is rather short, within less then a day.
so they usually dont wait until bearish come, but instead seek opportunity of correction in the middle of bullrun which i'm pretty sure still exists.
or even finding some analysis in regard of future price, like if the coin have the potential for rally then they'd start bagging it and that is for rather short term.
so I don't think traders in general are bound to the bitcoin trend honestly.

I'm bullish on Bitcoin, but I hold an optimistic view on altcoins. Whenever Bitcoin shows an upward trend, altcoins tend to follow it. Since Bitcoin holds a dominant position in the market, when people witness its success, they perceive the overall cryptocurrency market will follow it and invest more in altcoins. The value of altcoins is closely tied of Bitcoin, and this correlation makes sense to me. This concept has been well-explained multiple times here though.

Thats not how market works.
It still depend on what alts you choose, if you're choose the bad one when bad news appear it gonna go into red even tough the price btc goes up.
