You're pointing the hashing power at P2Pool and eating the loss for the good of Bitcoin. Tongue Awesome! Smiley

No, But that is a long term goal. I want to make and support a p2p pool. I however do not have the skill to set it up. I will fund it. Anyone know how to do it?

p2pool.stitthappens.com:8336 no fees Smiley

It's pretty easy to setup.

Install bitcoind with server=1 in the conf
Install a couple packages with apt
Git checkout the project
Open a screen
cd to the project and ./run_p2pool.py <bunch of params>

Hopefully this diagram will help with your config.

Don't forget to open the ports on your router/firewall.

Also I modified the ports because I wanted to try litecoin p2pool, so these don't conflict if you want to do that.

[edit]You probably want to specify a bitcoin payout address -a <btc address> in the command to start p2pool. I left that out.

I'm back at 105% too. A few hours ago I was still at 115%.

10G or more - 115%
5G to 9.999G - 111%
4.999G or less - 105%
Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Edit: title should be updated to reflect those. It's easy to be catchy when only a few percent users can actually reach the 115%...

Awesome diagram! You should post this in the p2pool thread too.

Why would they need it? They are already running p2pool?  Smiley

I updated the diagram, fixing the typo for namecoind merged-url.

I only did the diagram because trying to do two instances of p2pool in my head required too much brain work.

And why is the namecoind config file named bitcoin.conf?  Uggh...

With the amount of rejects I get, 105% knocks me down to right around 100%. But that's still better than other PPS sites, so I'll stay.

We are working on the rejects as you can see. We know the source of most of it and are trying to correct the problems however at times we just ahve to eat them:(

As long as I'm not losing money because of them, I'm fine with it.

POCLBM is broken and will fail at every pool. Do not use this by itself or with GUI miner. Inaba noticed this issue at eclipsemc and I think it is part of our problem as well. Please change to CG miner if you can. I have had issues with Diablo miner with the 7970s Sad

So Diablo is broken as well !? I thought it was only poclbm problem. Thanks for telling us !

you must be doing something wrong on your end bc i got 5 ghs and am averging 3.4 a day which is tops and what are you paying in fees at btc guild did you factor that in? no way you mine 3.4 after fees

There was nothing wrong, sorry that you feel its my fault. when i first started i was getting like 3.6-3.8 which was awesome. There must have been something fishy going on over the weekend. I guess consistent disconnects. That's the only plausible explanation. I can get up to 5.2gh but over a week i average closer to 4.8 so im not gonna be getting the 115 so thanks anyway.

I have been mining for 8 months and never had issues with miners/settings/pools. I always got exactly what my mhash reflected. I haven't changed anything when switching to different pools. This is the only one that disappointing me Sad I feel so noobish for not setting up a backup server. I never needed to in the past.
