I love reading documentaries too, especially about science.
The reason Amazon was referred to as the best place to be is that the place there can be referred to as a "Planet healthy habit". The color is greenish, never disrupted by human behavior or climate change.

Everything is so pure and natural. It's a beautiful sight to behold.

I am curious to know where is the Amazon located around the glob to be named the most important place on earth even though I doubt that because not all of us know how that place looks like so then how can we now agree that Amazon is the most important place on earth.

There is no gain in saying that different countries have some incredible and out-of-human-capacity locations and reserves, and this will dash off every form of argument.

Amazon may rank among the best location around the world but certainly not the first on the list if there is any.

Amazon is found in South America and comprises Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Columbia, and Ecuador. Amazon it's a major tropical rainforest of community type.

Even though this may be the most important location for him, I don't like the idea of applying his conclusions to the entire population where he has been, that Amazon is the most important place on Earth. To me, this is just an exaggeration, not the well-proven fact that Amazon is everyone's most important location.

There is no doubting the fact that, Amazon is one of the world's most attractive places on earth with its best natural endowment but we still have other locations around the world that are also appealing for tourism and human inhibition and we have a good number of them around the world and even in my country we have a location that is called Obudo cattle range and this tourism location is one of the most sort after tourist locations around the world it inhabitants comprises of people from all over the globe.

And it ranks among the world's best locations, but I don't think it can be rated with the Amazon, since I believe Amazon already made the Guinness Book of Records if I am not mistaken.

Ironically, I had a college companion that some years ago moved to the United States and spent some weeks in Las Vegas. Of course, I was happy for him and he seemed to be very excited about it.

After he got there,.he told me that the experience was rather underwhelming, because the only thing that was worth it as the Strip or the downtown area of the city, the rest of it was mostly empty, it was not the big city he had in mind, but rather casinos in the middle.of the desert.

Perhaps, movies, shows and general culture have us gotten used to the idea of Las Vegas being better than it actually is in real life. Who knows.

But then, there could be some other place that's more important than it. Anyway, we could all agree that the most important is dependent on what we think and what we're advocating. If we're nature lovers then Amazon can be really said to it. But then, if you like into commercialize or finance then you'd say that it could be Wall Street. Again for me, it varies from where we're living and what we're living with.

I personally think the Amazon may not be the most important place on earth. Because place, time, individual important places are different for different people. Suppose the most important place for a child is his home. Again the most important place for a patient is the hospital. The most important places to a travel enthusiast can vary. In my own opinion, I don't think the reporter can sufficiently justify and satisfy us her reasons for such conclusion. Because indeed, every place of the earth is as important as the other.

In fact, I feel like trying to give preferences or importance to a place or region of the world than the other is the Genesis of the discrimination we face today. For example, saying one nation is more important than the other or one race is more important than the other, all starting from giving preferences to a place of the earth.

Every place of the world is very unique and that's the beauty of nature. And when you talk about the mineral resources deposited on the earth, it also defers across different places and people place importance on them based on their needs.

The Amazon is also unique in its contributions to the wellness of the earth crust. It helps stabilize the climate with around 76 billion tonnes of carbon is stored in the Amazon rainforest.The trees in the Amazon also release 20 billion tonnes of water into the atmosphere per day, playing a critical role in global and regional carbon and water cycles. So in conclusion, every part of the earth is a creation of nature that was perfectly carved out for its own unique purposes and is as important as the other part of the earth, just like oceans are equally very important place on earth as life itself started from water and the aquatic life, phytoplankton, are the basic/primary producers of food in the ecosystem.

Apart from news I also interest myself with documentaries. Just the other day I was watching a particular documentary on Aljazeera about nature and  one correspondent made a statement claiming that "the most important place on earth is the  Amazon", and this got me marveling how so. What could be her reasons for this claim.

I guess the reason why that correspondent gave "Amazon" as the most important place on earth is simply because it's a rainforest which exposes you to nature, and other reasons listed below which I got from a website whose link provided below.

To be honest, I don't really understand what you mean in this thread. but if it refers to your statement which relates about nature, and I connect it with the most important place on earth. then I assume that this thread refers to the lungs of the world, I will quote what you wrote "a correspondent made a statement claiming that the most important place on earth is the Amazon". yes, that's absolutely true. the world community is very familiar with the Amazon in Brazil, which is nicknamed the world's lung region. this wilderness that is still beautiful and maintains its existence contributes to the breath of life for the sustainability of this earth.

I mean, trees or forests, nature, are the lungs of the world, because trees are one of the largest oxygen producers in the world, where oxygen is a basic need in human life. if the Amazon is the lungs of the world, then our country is the heart of the world. because, our country is also one that includes wilderness, nature, everything in it. so is the Amazon the most important place in the world. yes, and our country too. therefore, our duty is to take care of this world as well as possible for the benefit of humans themselves.

It will be difficult to agree that the Amazon is the most important place on earth when not everyone has been there or even have an idea of what exactly has made this Amazon the most important place to this person. The most important places on earth depends on every individual because it is based on certain reasons. For me the most important place on earth to me is my home.

I doubt there happens to be a most important place in nature. For every shift in the natural occurance of an event, there always would be an adjustment to replenish what is lost or what shift might have taken place. That's why, we've got circles about everything or element there is.

I say again, there isn't a most important place but, we could have a most important element and that is, water. Water is life and as science has it, water covers about 70% of the earth's surface, its biome is yet to be fully explored and biomass classified completely.

It is the one thing that all nation collectively seeks to preserve as, a pollution in an angle can be transferred to a far distance country and the effects are never stagnant.
These are some of the reasons why, I think water stands out although, as an element rather than place on earth to be of great importance.

It is quite difficult to determine which place is the most important in the world since we all have different perspectives and have our own definitions and standards when determining if something is really important. The correspondent's statement which you have quoted may have been said because the correspondent might be a person who values nature and greenery a lot or is at least fonder of it than anything else. In contrast, if you ask a businessman which is the most important place in the world, the answer will be different. The same goes when you ask a gambler, an artist, a fighter, etc., etc.
