Imagination is definitely the first step towards making something happen. After all we are jere because we are imaginative, our species has come this far because we are inquisitive and smart enough to be curious and imaginative. And of course, planning wouldn't go anywhere if you don't do it. So with that being said, you also should make sure that whatever you imagine, important or not, you go out of your way to achieve and fulfill it. There is another saying that if you can dream them the. You can achieve  them and the truth is that it is goof to dream but remember  that wouldn't  achieve  your dreams by just still sleeping  and since you already have the dream, it should be time to work toward achieving the dreams you had.

This depends on how realistic is your dream.  There are dream dreams and realistic dreams.  It became real if all factor in achieving that dream is doable. So when it comes to realizing our dreams, we should put all our imagination into action.  In @OP's case, he dreams to acquire more wealth, which I believe is realistic.  He just need to plan his actions and be cautious of possible factor that can hinder the realization of his dream.
