As mentioned, the Activity will decrease and, subsequently, you may be de-ranked depending on how many posts you delete. The good news is that the Merits will stay, so in the hypothetical event depicted in the OP, it would only be a matter of posting (and time) to recover the Rank. Bear in mind that Recoverable Activity would not be available as an accelerator to recovering Rank if you delete all your posts.

In broader terms, some people have managed to de-rank their account from Legendary to Sr. Member and even back to Newbie, as well as others have taken their Hero member account back down to Sr. Member through to Newbie.

Not that I frown at people deciding to delete their posts for the sole purpose of de-ranking themselves and on the other hand it doesn't in anyway fault forum rule in doing that.

But am just raising a concern I conceive in mind after reading your comment, like in a situation where an OP gets to delete a particular post of his which contains quality information, solves certain regularly asked questions that might be of a burden to a newbie or any member rank at all. So to me I think if many people continue doing that we might lose some answers we could have easily sight or pointed to in the forum when we meet similar questions that such reply/answers could have resolved or been of help to but then it already deleted by the OP.

I don't know if you understand the perspective am talking from.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I understand your view, but, since these people have control over their contents they can do to it whatever they wish. Although, their answers can't be the only one in a thread, tens to hundreds of responses are seen in a thread. What could be of importance is deleted threads, which goes away with other people's responses under the thread. Thereby, reducing the post count of the owner and that of the members who responded to the thread. I've seen some users who complained about miscalculated post counts not knowing that a thread they responded to in the past must have been deleted, either by the Op or the moderator.

I may understand your plight to be frank, OP.
In trying to reduce the post count because the merit score doesn't quite say how great a persons effort or input has been so far, it simply means one might be ashamed of failure and rarely do learn from it.
I sincerely have pondered on this kinda scenario but lacked the grit to articulate it here properly.
So many other persons agree that one's post count is like an archive or a library of thoughts, so why delete or clean it off?
References can be made with such post in order to avoid spam, detect spam, measure growth, be an encouraging figure/member to those with similar cases incase the merit starts coming in.
Unless there is an ulterior motive behind deleting the numerous post, or you just feel like you want to start afresh, then, there it is.
Mind you, deleting your posts might even show or present you as untrustworthy, and might even earn you a negative trust, possibly.
