What is you research process for events like bitcoin halving ?

Everyone has their own exit plan but I am not thinking that anymore because I've made a lot of mistakes before and did sold before the bull run came. Researches and analysis like this is what makes me to be more patient this time compared in the last bull run.

And even without too deep analysis about every halving, you'd notice the difference of gains every time that the halving has passed. It could 1 year that has passed or for several months and we'd see that the bull run has actually come.

Researching the halving depends on what your "end game" is.

If you plan on HODL'ing for the long term there really isnt anything to research other than
when its going to happen, what block height. HODL'ing long term means your belief is that
Bitcoin will continue to increase in value.

I agree, your end game is probably going to take longer than what you're expecting to be because you'd just hold and wait until the price of Bitcoin reaches to the point that it's no longer from what your expected price. And every halving, the scarcity of Bitcoin is what makes the demand higher so as the price so, with basic knowledge about what happens during the halving makes you want to hold more.

Really? Then you must have some IT background. The book is pretty difficult for beginners with a lot of complex stuff and many pages about the code. Most of us aren't really interested in bitcoin code, so honestly I would not recommend that for your first book.

Beginners will only be discouraged if they encounter lots of things that are complicated
and hard to comprehend.

I’ve been around for every halving so I guess I would say that I do less research and go more off my own experience. I figure those doing the research are probably just asking guys like me if their research is accurate anyway. Lol. Imagine trying to look at statistics instead of experience to describe what happened during the last bull market…

Why didn't you share your research with us? So we can know what type of research you are talking about. Halving is one of the Bitcoin events that reduces mining rewards after a specific time frame. It doesn't have any relation to Bitcoin prices except adding less Bitcoin to the circulating supply. I haven't researched anything, just monitoring everything. I share my own thoughts, nothing from the research. As per previous chart history, Bitcoin often starts pumping after halving, though not immediately. But this time we saw an immediate dump. So we have to wait a bit longer to see another ATH.

I do agree that there isn't really anything researched about it, we just know that halving happens every 4 years, and we also know that we are going to end up with a greater return in the end, it shouldn't be really a big shocker, that is not how any of that works at all. I personally believe that we are not going to grow to be a bigger deal, we shouldn't really consider that we can't make it work one way or another.

I believe that the best thing to do in this case we should definitely look to see a bigger and better result in the end. I believe that halving just makes the prices go up, but before it makes it go up, it takes a bit of a time. I believe that the real big increase will start at higher and higher levels, that is how that works if you ask me, but we need to wait until the end of the year.

Well, not for everyone. YT videos are definitely handy for quick learning, no doubt.  Andreas Antonopoulos has some great introductory stuff that gives a nice overview.  but I gotta say, nothing beats cracking open one of his books if you really want to dive deep into the nitty gritty details. 

The thing with YouTube is it's easy to get distracted hopping around from video to video without fully grasping concepts.  With a book, you can take your time go at your own pace, and revisit parts that don't quite click right away.  There's just more meat there, more substance, to really build a solid base of knowledge.  It's an investment but worth it if youre serious about learning.

That's a mistake that is never corrected and most beginners only think quickly to make a profit. But they never know the many complicated things they need to learn when investing or trading bitcoin.

In fact, we often make statements about them that are much more negative and we always say they make money by making videos or articles. The weakness is that many people are lazy about reading so that knowledge does not increase and the absence of knowledge will hinder us from moving forward. There is a lot of information on social media and our job is only to distinguish the level of truth and if after studying it it is wrong, then use other sources of information.

What is you research process for events like bitcoin halving ? From where did you learn about it and its impact on bitcoin prices. Personally, I gathered all the information from bitcointalk forum and reddit.

From my own experience.

There's no need for me to research further about it because being with it for two times is already enough for me that the market cycle is for real. The 4-year cycle that includes the halving really is going to make the price of BTC up anytime soon.

If we're experiencing some dips nowadays, don't rush as this is normal and part of the market's rise for the upcoming bull run that we're all waiting for.

I do agree, I have been around for now nearly 4 cycles, the first one at around 2013-2014 period, second the one where we reached 20k at 2017, and third was the famous 2021 the one we had just a few years ago, now we are at 2024 and this is going to be my fourth. It's almost always the same way, it starts the season strong, has a little dip or so, then goes up a lot, then halving happens, the price drops, then slowly it starts to have a bull run, goes up more and more and more, where it eventually reaches the all time high price.

When that will happen changes, it may not be all at the same time, we may have to wait all the way to 2025 December if we are unlucky, or it could be sometime a lot sooner as well, we have no idea when it will happen.

I like researching stuff, I really do. But I do it either out of personal curiosity or when I need to do it for work, studying or something similar. Bitcoin halving, to me, isn't an event that needs to be researched. It's just a reduction in block reward, and there are differing opinions on its impact on the price or whether it even has impact. I think that the event itself gives Bitcoin some publicity, but no direct impact on the price. Sometimes it goes up months after halving, this time it actually went up before halving. In any case, it's not anything important.
