Litecoin can never outperform Bitcoin, especially when it's an altcoin. Demand for LTC is pretty low, because nowadays investors prefer smart contract platforms with NFTs and stablecoins such as Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL).
Investors? Kiddies you mean. Smartchain has a risk with POS. More than with POW.

After all Altcoins were troubled recently, Litecoin is gaining more confidence again. But can Litecoin outperform Bitcoin or is Litecoin dead in your opinion?
Litecoin can never outperform Bitcoin, especially when it's an altcoin. Demand for LTC is pretty low, because nowadays investors prefer smart contract platforms with NFTs and stablecoins such as Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL). What I do like about Litecoin is that it's much cheaper and faster to use than Bitcoin for day-to-day payments. With a limited supply of only 84m units, we could say Litecoin is like "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". The development team recently added a privacy feature called "Mimblewimble" which should differentiate LTC from BTC in the long run. This didn't "pump" LTC's price on the market, probably because of the lack of marketing/promotion from the team. But at least, everything is working as it should. With many exchanges supporting LTC, I don't think the cryptocurrency will disappear anytime soon. Maybe it will live alongside BTC for generations? Just my thoughts There are a number of reasons why Litecoin can be a better choice for day-to-day payments and transactions when compared to Bitcoin, such as its faster block generation times and lower transaction fees. It has established a niche for itself as a payment-focused cryptocurrency and has gained acceptance and a following in certain industries and communities as a result. There is no doubt that each cryptocurrency has its own strengths, weaknesses, and possible uses, and so it is important to take note of this fact. For various purposes, Litecoin's focus on being a reliable and efficient payment method can still be relevant even though Ethereum's support for NFTs and DApps has led it to gain significant popularity. However, Ethereum and other smart contract platforms have gained significant popularity for their support of NFTs and decentralized applications.

Well LTC has also NFTs: Ord-LitecoinWhile I think Doge is better suited for this whole meme coin/ordinals fad (Disclaimer: I don't own any Doge, too volatile ), it has still not adopted Taproot so LTC had an advantage there. And there seems to be quite some usage of this feature (while it waned a bit after the Ordinals craze slowed down, it's still almost doubling the pre-ordinals transaction density). Regarding stablecoins: Centralized stablecoins are very easy to deploy on all BTC-based blockchains because there are lots of token protocols (Omni, Counterparty, now also the ultra-inefficient BRC-20 , but also Taproot Assets/RGB may be adopted by LTC). What would be more difficult are algorithmic stablecoins. I'm not totally sure, but I believe that in the past Tether or USDC had also a LTC token.

But can Litecoin outperform Bitcoin or is Litecoin dead in your opinion?
I can say no to both questions. I don't think Litecoin can outperform Bitcoin because of the upcoming halving in 52 days by the time I wrote this post. I also don't think Litecoin is dead because the strong community and supports from the long-user and one of the old coins out there that does still exist and survive despite so many competitions among other altcoins in the market, decent market cap and price should be enough reason to convince Litecoin is not dead. I'm not a fan of Litecoin but still using it time to time for easier transfer to other wallet because of low fees and fast transaction speed. I think that is a bit of an unknown situation, I wouldn't be able to say litecoin wouldn't outperform bitcoin, but I also wouldn't be able to say it wouldn't outperform neither, I can't say which one will happen. I think it is going to be a bit of a different situation and we would have to learn to just wait and see, that is the hardest thing in the crypto world, we need to act quickly if we want to profit and sometimes taking our time and waiting to see what is going to happen is a bit of a different situation. I think it is going to be a tough situation if we act quickly because nobody really knows what is going to happen, so we just need to make sure that it is going to be a bit of a tough situation that should be the important thing, just wait and see what will happen.

Don't worry, another 48 days and Litecoin will be bullish, currently Litecoin is in rank 10 and before that Litecoin was able to be in the top 10, I'm sure LTC will replace SOL in the top 10 because for me LTC deserves more to be there than SOL.

Litecoin is not dead. Litecoin is a good coin at the moment. Not that Litecoin will ever outperform Bitcoin. Bitcoin is one of the best coins in the crypto world which helps all the coins to go well. Hopefully ltc coin will go to a good position.

I can't imagine how bloated LTC will be once the NFT hype makes a comeback. It will increase on-chain fees, greatly defeating LTC's purpose as digital money for day-to-day payments. Developers should leave NFTs to smart contract blockchains like ETH and BSC, while leaving BTC, LTC, and DOGE alone. Ultimately, the community will decide the best path forward for these cryptocurrencies. While LTC now has NFT features, there hasn't been any major movement in market prices. The majority is still focused on other coins, particularly those with staking and smart contract features. Only Bitcoin is the exception because it's the one cryptocurrency that started it all. At least, Litecoin has strong support from mainstream exchanges. Nearly every crypto exchange has a trading pair with LTC. Maybe it will survive alongside BTC in the future? Just my opinion

Hopefully they don't, NFT is as Stupid as believing an ordinary stamp will get you a million next year. You need a buyer in order to make a profit. Bundles of people in German Forums have been subjects in a criminal investigation as they claim to have sold a NFT collection for 50 k. And that in Crypto winter.

Litecoin is one of the potential Altcoins, therefore it is impossible for it to just die because it is still in great demand by traders and investors. it's just that the development team needs to be able to compete with other projects in order to raise its ranking. However, to outperform Bitcoin will certainly not be possible, if the target is to become the top Altcoin ranking, of course, it still has the potential and hope to be able to compete with other Altcoins.

Not a lot of people realize that, litecoin has been around for a long time and it will continue to exist for a long time as well, there is no possibility of it dying anytime soon, that's just not possible. Too many people act as if we are talking about some meme project, this is litecoin we are talking about and it has been around since 2011 and it is still near the top 10 level after all these years. Why would something can be high on the rankings for over a decade and somehow go away suddenly? We would need to face a situation where it would not make any type of sense anyway and that's not the point and it can't ever be the point at all. I believe that the best thing to do in this case is to make sure that we are at a good level and that can only happen given enough time.

The competition is pretty stiff these days. There are so many coins out there with attractive features. If Litecoin wants to get all of the attention, the team is going to need to increase marketing/promotion efforts. It's all about the brand. Not the cryptocurrency itself. You can see how ETH is doing better than LTC, even though ETH has a much higher supply. VCs, institutional investors, and whales are all into ETH. Suprisingly, LTC has managed to stay relevant in the competitive crypto market. It may not have much demand compared to other coins, but it's one of the most accepted cryptocurrencies in the world. Nearly every exchange has an LTC trading pair. It's possible LTC will survive alongside BTC and ETH for generations. As long as it stays decentralized, we should have nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts

Litecoin is still stable at $ 80 to $ 90, of course we have to monitor if we want to buy Litecoin, especially now that Bitcoin is also bullish, so there's no worry about buying altcoins like Litecoin, if Litecoin is indeed sideways ahead of the halving, of course that's very good, because whales are also accumulating. I think $100 for Litecoin wil be reached.

I agree with you. Also, I'm used to thinking about Litecoin as a currency, not as an investment. So for me, price doesn't really matter, I'm using LTC because of fast, cheap, and secure transactions. And I think I'm not the only one.

Well that sucks. I can't imagine how bloated LTC will be once the NFT hype makes a comeback. It will increase on-chain fees, greatly defeating LTC's purpose as digital money for day-to-day payments. Seems not to be so much of a problem. See Johoe's stats site: the NFT craze in the second week of June only led to a minuscule increase in fees, and with the lowest possible fee (which is much lower than 0.1 USD cent) you always got your transaction through in a few hours. Take into account that the "capacity" of LTC is higher than Bitcoin's. There's the same 4 vMB limit (see the code here in consensus.h) as for Bitcoin for every block - but blocks are deployed each 2.5 minutes. So the capacity of LTC is four times Bitcoin's. Of course if the NFT fad was extended in time, the bloat could have led to a heavier blockchain, making running full LTC nodes more expensive. But the current NFT craze was a quite short-lived craze (a couple of months) and impacted BTC more than LTC. So I'm quite neutral on this - I'm against NFTs on BTC, but on LTC they can have their niche. Developers should leave NFTs to smart contract blockchains like ETH and BSC, while leaving BTC, LTC, and DOGE alone.
You can't prevent anybody of developing a NFT platform for any blockchain. Take into account that NFTs were invented on Bitcoin in 2015/16 (Rare Pepes etc.). Anyway, if what gmaxwell wrote here is true, then NFTs on blockchains will have a quite bleak future. It seems to be possible that the principle that every full node has to download all blocks of the chain at the start to validate it, will be eventually replaced with another mechanism. That would liberate full nodes from the requirement to store NFTs on-chain on Bitcoin-based coins like LTC.

Investors? Kiddies you mean. Smartchain has a risk with POS. More than with POW. All the altcoins have same risk of POS most especially now that Ethereum who is the driving force for altcoins moved it network to 2.0 which make it fully proof of stake rather than proof of work, and just as we have always said that there are security disadvantages with proof of stakes and that is something investors should worry about so no matter what becomes the reality of any coin, it doesn't have a guaranteed security so long it's proof of stake their is possible control of a few how have higher liquidity in the pools to control the transactions. Litecoin is one of the good altcoins we have around but Litecoin is no different from ETH And the rest so it can never compete with Bitcoin as a proof of work coin, even with all the colleges that come with that.

nowadays people prioritize projects that give more than 3x or 4x profits, so when they look at altcoins like litecoin people already know that litecoin is not a 3x or 4x profit project unless bitcoin price goes up a lot, so if they put money into litecoin it will probably be a small amount of money they will just be expecting a 2x return because it will be a temporary price increase because people will sell soon because they don't see litecoin as a project that will have a big increase of price over the years
litecoin is an old altcoin, which has already given all it had to give, that's in most people's minds, so people are chasing the altcoins that follow the trend, like these meme altcoins, which are copies of dogecoin, like doge coin it's backed by a big billionaire so they keep creating a lot of meme coins to take advantage of the situation, unfortunately people would rather spend money on these meme coins than put it in already established altcoins like litecoin, i use litecoin for my bets and not as a source for investment, for investment I prefer bitcoin which is safer

In fact, it's not only available on various exchanges, most gambling platforms certainly provide options for this type of coin to bet on If only a coin that had been around for a long time had such a strong development team, maybe the current order of coins 1.Bitcoin 2.Ethereum 3.Dogecoin 4.Litecoin 5.Xrp 6.Waves And other new types of coins

Look at Litecoin back in the top 10 again because previously Litecoin was under Tron, yes this is good news because Litecoin is also going to do a halving, so you can start buying Litecoin today because Litecoin's target can reach $300 or even $600 this year.

changes continue to occur for LTC currently under Tron and it is possible that it will return to above Tron, the situation is indeed very unpredictable. LTC seems to be different from what it does with BTC, it's always going to move earlier than BTC moves, of course it's great but when BTC rises sharply LTC can't do that. I think LTC will move early when the halving occurs. but maybe the achievement will not be as many times as the last ATH, if you look at what has been done, maybe you are right, that LTC can reach $ 600 but not this year but 2025.

Yeah with what's happening to Litecoin I think we need to take advantage of this time to buy, for sure this is a great start for Litecoin, hope there will be further developments and the price can go up.
