I believe your friend didn't understand much about Bitcoin investment; if not, he shouldn't have said he was disappointed because the price of Bitcoin is falling. He is supposed to be aware of bear markets and bull runs. When I first started my journey in BTC, the price was roughly around ~$4,000. Currently, the price sits comfortably around $25,000 which is around a 650% increase where I initially started. By this fact alone, this should at least muster you the courage to invest your extra funds for long-term usage. Considering that the fork will happen in the year 2024, there is a relatively high chance that its price may skyrocket during that time.

You don’t just expect bitcoin to be rising always, their will definitely be fall, few months ago bitcoin price was around $16k and it pumped to around $30k, people didn’t make any noise, but little dump that happened everyone is panicking and making noise online even people that are not holding bitcoin are making noise. Altcoins and BTC isn't the same thing, so don't think because BTC always recovers its value in price, that altcoins would also do the same thing, there is a reason why BTC recovers after plunging, it is because it is useful and there is demand for it.
