That's just a bullshit motivation, when you stop you are able to take full control of the bet, instead of continuing it until you are poor. Usually, the person who says this is so that he has friends who continue to gamble, and don't want to let other people control the stakes. Precisely when you are able to stop, either for a moment or long enough, it shows that person is better than an addicted gambler.

Where I live these words are often heard, and in accordance with what I suspect that these words actually come from the mouths of gamblers who have lost everything. Until plunging others to experience the same fate, as naturally. To be honest, these words cannot be justified, instead of encouraging people to continue betting, I want to make this an example for anyone who wants to stop gambling.

Nothing like that exist since in gambling we can't say if we quit we lose since it will just pile up our possible losses and we might get pressured to win especially if we listen to the taunt and cheering up of your friends. Just enjoy the game since this will be more ideal to us and if we decide to quit at what ever cost then its good since it only means that we are aware about possible worst outcome that nay came to us and quitting is not sign of weakness but rather this is smart decision done by people especially when the activities they fo hurt them in financial aspects.

No I will not allow any statement to influence my mind especially about gambling, if I think about quitting then I will stop. That's a rediculous statement and I live by this one "you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them".  Quiting isn't losing, continuing to lose is losing lol.  Chasing bad bets one after another is literally the reason why people go belly up.  If you lose move on there's another day.

I agree with your statement that quiting isn't losing. A gambler must not lose huge amount of stakes before he'll be qualified to win a bet. When one isn't seeing any possibility of winning a particular bet then quiting is surely the best thing in other not to incur more loses

What about thinking of changing a different strategy in the way you make your predictions. It could be that the reason you are not having the possibility to win in a particular bet is tied to the strategy you're using and just maybe, changing to a new type might bring a big win. the statement you mentioned is almost similar to this "luck belongs to him who always daring to take risks".
I'm not sure whether the saying that I mentioned and is so popular in my city has been said by other people here, of course words like this are actually very misleading in the world of gambling because they are not appropriate to be applied to gambling and more precisely to be used in developing real businesses.

This reminds me of another famous slogan by investors who say that you don't lose until you sell. With bitcoin it actually makes sens because its long term average price always goes up, so selling it is just taking a price offered at the given time, despite knowing that a year or two from that day it's going to be higher anyway. Usually, when it comes to other investments, the market price at a given time is THE PRICE and if you choose not to accept it, then your funds are effectively frozen for an unknown period of time.

I agree with that quote "if you quit that's when you lose" but in a different light. I see it like in a way of mastery. Like those legend poker players. Until they fully grasp their strategy, they don't quit. The persistently and consistently challenging themselves to be the best poker player. Contrast to OP's idea which only bases on luck, if you just show up today and not tomorrow, only bet when you feel like it then you won't get the mastery.

When your whole gambling days are just prone to losing doesn't mean you don't have to quit, that's totally detrimental not just on you but maybe to your circle, you may be in debt because of it. This is a total bullcrap when we talking about gambling. You will save a lot of money if you will while you are a terrible gamble that loses often times. We all know that house always win due to house edge and human error then prolonging playing just to chase profit will definitely give you more loses than profit or breakeven in time when you win huge jackpot prize.

It's a very popular statement here in my place also but commonly in pidgin "na who give up lose". There is sense in the statement but should not be applicable to gambling. Gambling is not a dream to be chase without thinking of giving up, it work for some and fail some. Do yourself a favor and give up honorably if it is not working for you before you give up your life instead of gambling. You're not losing when you give up early but the moment you realize it's not your way but you refuse to give up is when you start losing.
