I read about it in literature earlier this year and I stopped blaming the government for suspending bitcoin and crypto transactions. Mixers are fraudulent and are solely used for that purpose. Both centralised and decentralised mixers alike. Maybe if not for the advent of mixers initially, cryptocurrency could have been a very legally acceptable entity without most of the suspicions it is facing today.

Mixers as the name implies join a given transaction with many other transactions and conceals the origin and destination of such transactions. This makes it practically impossible to trace such transactions in the event of fraud.

You're getting it all wrong when you say mixers are solely used for fraudulent activities. Does that mean fiat isn't used for fraudulent activities with the banks? Of course, they are even the worse in concealing illegal deals trace.

You’re right and I think I’ve seen a news recent about ETH mixing, but can’t typically remember where and when I came across that news but I know I read it recently about been able to mix other coin and I understand that majority of people stopped following up mixers and its activities especially with regards to the forum after its ban, so the news might be strange to other people.

You have all rights to be scared of mixers as although they aren't illegal but they can put you in alot of problems. Some people accounts have gotten frozen for receiving coins from mixers so the authorities going after know mixers users aren't new. As far you make use of them and somehow the supposedly sever they were keeping records gates breached or enters the hands of the authority, your privacy has been compromised and you can be called for questioning. Mixers weren't created for scammers but just like other good things they have made it theirs because they become the highest patronizers.

The government no really threaten this forum for having Bitcoin mixers for advertising their services but Theymos took an important step to be far ahead of them so they don't put forum into risk for allowing them to market their things here. The mixers report on scams was getting too much attention and it wouldn't be good for the forum. There are other companies here that advertise their things here and it's going to ruin everything and the forum entirely.

I don't know how chipmixer ended with the government but they were taken down and many allegations was written about them and after their exit, new mixers were coming from different angles and it doesn't take upto a month or so they either get reports of scamming people or accused of laundering money for bad actors, this concerns are not good for mixers but I'm not sure it will change anyways because mixers don't do analysis on any coins that comes to them, they are after privacy enhancement that's all.

On the other platform, I saw signature campaigns being managed by one of our prominent managers here, and the promotional campaign is all about the eth mixer, as you have said, maybe that was where you saw it if you are fully registered on the platform, but mixers I think does not only exist for bitcoin anymore as there have been lots of mixers being developed for different blockchain and they are currently running without any issues. Maybe we could say that these Eth mixers are still at their early stage of adoption, which will gradually gain traction in the long run.

It was a precautionary measure and not that the forum got affected after Chipmixer was banned all hands might be pointing here because this forum was the only place it was promoted then and after the banning of Chipmixer may other mixers found there way here where two later got into scandals again, if I could remember Whirlwind went off with some members funds stuck on it. Centralized exchanges were questioning members having deposits from Sinbad to fill RFI forms and all this actually made Theymos to make that big decision then.
