I do not have problem with the appointment, but in a country where foreign companies are leaving, SME are closing and job losses happening at an alarming rate, taxation should not be the main focus of government rather the economy. If you fix the economy, create jobs and businesses for people, then it becomes easier to tax people and they will happily pay.

If we continue like this, we might resort to the dark old days of government moving from village to village arresting people because of tax. Well, wetin concern a hungry man with tax!

This is a clear definition of what they meant when people say "Opportunity meets preparation", because for her to be given such prestigious recognition, it's a clear sign she must have been a hardworking youth who knows what she wants and goes for it, because without her series of proven records, I doubt, if she would have been nominated. And for me, I think it will be far more better if her nomination is not politically inclined (i.e to last only within the timeframe of this new administration. But if she is been given a permanent federal job appointment to take effect the moment she finishes her final year. Then this will be a welcome development.

I quite agree with you on this. Naija no get direction at all nah make wen Fela tok say them be zombie, e no lie. We get more pressing matas at hand like huge debt, insecurity and the rest, instead wetin baba see to focus on nah tax wey go further milk the poor.

You're right! Nigeria needs to focus more on providing enabling environment for business and investment. Here in Port Hercourt, many companies have shut down, living thousands of people jobless.

When there are no companies and employment, how do you want to realize the tax?

For the student that was recently appointed by the president, I think the president is trying to make the youth to feel among and also make us believe that he's ready to carry the youths along.

I know the committee is going to work towards an already determined answer, but they should at least pretend that they are serious about government work.

I must congratulate her, it is a good one, the major thing is is do she really deserve it, if yes, then it is a welcome development, I don't think that the constitution barred the president from appointing a serving corp member into any position, so it is a welcome development, though it is my first time of noticing such but then it is better for a youth to be in positions more than our aged father's, who are bent on making series of anti people's policies, the right things needs to be done in our political terrain, the country has to think differently to make things right.
