For me, I go say na lack of common sense and greed go make a man see danger & still want to risk his life for something wey no dey worth it, because this na one tin wey don happen countless number of times, leading to lost of lives, and yet eh go dey surprising say if eh happen tomorrow too, people go still rush after am just to fetch 10, 20 or even 30 litres capable of taking their entire life at the stop. But however, if I'm to apportion blame according to percentage, I go say the government is to be blame 9%, while the driver to be blamed 1%, while the people wey carry themselves go pack fuel and got burnt are to be blamed 90% for their carelessness.

I heard about that incident but didn’t know it happened on Ondo state. That’s such a careless attitude by the people that got involved in such menace. Even if they no tell dem, them suppose know say na fire dem dey play with. It seems they don’t value there life that much to take such risk. I also came across another video after this incident that people were queuing up and collecting fuel, this time they were maintaining orderliness. It could be because of what happened on the Ondo state incident.

This has nothing to do with the government, he shouldn’t be blamed for everything. Those people were just so ignorant and not understanding how valuable their lives are to risk it for the fuel. Even the tanker driver would have already ran for his life after the oil began to spill on the road. I know people are facing hardship because of the hike in PMS price but that shouldn’t warrant this. May we not witness such incident again in the future.

This things na something wey our people they do always even before the fuel scarcity so e don already master Nigerians especially the illiterates once that are not too careful about their lives, if not them supposed to consider safety first because I know say all of them wey go there de awear say petrol na highly inflammable something wey just need heat and small ignition wey fit be just a crack of stone to catch fire, but them still go because they wan use the opportunity to get money.

The only fault wey Government go get for this matter na the bad road, if not them no get any fault; the drivers too get their own fault because some of them the fall the truck intentionally if them don too sell fuel for roadside because them know say if them reach where them they go, problem go de between them and the owner.

This thing happen for rivers state, in place called okogbe in ahoada, along the east west Road in 2012, where tanker way carry products fall for one side of the road, na so the full community bust out to come scoop fuel oh, Omo na so something just spark fire 🔥, almost everybody died, they record over 28 death and injured person's that year. So for me, n common sense them no get, no be even greed self.

OP, I don't think its lack of common sense, No. Reason being that who lacks common sense doesn't know the dangers or repercussions of her actions. This is  greed to the core and negligence on the importance of your life. Those people are greedy to the extent they can gamble with their lives. Nigerians should learn that every advantage is not an opportunity to make money and all that glitters are not gold. Our government are partly to blame because of their destructive policies and not attending to their duties which makes those roads bad, emergency services not responding to such hazards readily and the police not rushing to the scene of such accidents to keep people away from harm. As them no dey function well, make we ourselves no go use greed destroy the life wey God give us.

To me and you both, if not because of greediness, how can you think that is an opportunity? Definitely, you are a greedy person, and at the same time, you didn’t have common sense. Those that have sense will not do such, because, based on what you wrote, I can even say that those victims that went for the fuel are very greedy, which is very bad, and that is what is affecting our country every day, because almost all of those that will claim that it is due to fuel scarcity are liars because if they don't want to sell the fuel at a high price to get money, they won’t do such to themselves.
What I can just say is that we should reduce our expectations on getting money in this country because of the high expectation that someone will think if they can get at least 25 litres of fuel, they will get some high amount of money, so they will conclude to go forgetting that they might die.

Even though poverty can make some jump to the wrong conclusion, the poor man who values his life will not do such because he or she will not like to die but rather look for another solution to get money, so I can say poverty can’t make someone do such based on my own view.

Whether fuel scarcity dey or not, plenty people go still put their life for danger. We too like free thing for this our country and na poverty mentality dey cause am, yea. If you check well, majority of the people wey dey go fetch dis kind fuel no dey fetch for personal use, dem go sell am to get money buy one or two things for themselves. As you just talk am I believe you, poverty na disease e fit make person do anything for this life.
