Kudos to Gonzales for going the distance despite being outgunned by Lopez. It was clear from the start that Gonzales had no opportunity to win as he does not have that pop that could intimidate Lopez but nevertheless, it was a good fight.
One thing i observed on Lopez was that his defense wasn't so good and this is crucial if he fought Inoue in the future as i think Top Rank will be cooking this fight to make Inoue a 4-division champion as Lopez is very beatable.
I thought that the fight was close, but obviously, Lopez had the upper hand on most of the rounds this is the only fight where Lopez was challenged after his 11-winning streak, I agree with you and the commentators that there are loopholes in Lopez's style he just overwhelmed his opponents with a barrage of fighters.
I doubt if he can make a good challenge against Inoue, statistics and style Inoue still has an edge against Lopez, but it's worth watching when Top Rank arraigned a fight between the two.
Yes, same here, my prediction is that it will be a close fight, however, it seems that Lopez really had the numbers and Gonzalez is just short again in his attempt to win a title.
Nevertheless he did give try his best, but obviously that night it was the champion who is working double hard to retain his belt and Gonzalez doesn't have any respond to that and just going on the motions to finished the fight.
I do agree that Inoue will beat this version of Lopez at 126 lbs and he could be the easiest of the champion and could be a great target for Inoue if he moves up in another division above him.
