You’ll pretty much need mostly Twitter and Telegram. You’ll find out about all sorts of shitcoins over there. There’s a bigger underlaying issue though - you’ll need to spend a ton of time to find out about new coins and separate the good from the bad ones. Memecoins are like gambling, only very few succeed and even that’s mostly temporary. For now, the only truly successful memecoin is Doge. The others need to pass the test of time which, frankly, is pretty harsh and hard to pass. I expect most memecoins to be gone in a matter of months or years. New ones will come up, the previous gones will go.

As you said already, Twitter activity is what I too look first. Other metrics I consider are the overall presentation. The plans and roadmaps. Projects with low effort are highly unlikely to success. A well thought out project stands out when you visit it's site and look at the roadmap. Other thing to consider is the overall community and organic participation of the members.

Certified? Who certifies? Also not to offend you but I do view memecoins as good tokens only at its start 'coz most of its market prices are falling eventually. Also, not all meme tokens are having good outcome in this industry simply because of its laack of utility which we all know, is needed to sustain its market value. But yes, if you could determine which one qoyld be best to buy early and has the potential to be bigger after its release in the market, then that would be a huge advantage. However, problem is determining one. Everythings dependent with hype and demand for meme tokens and that means even if a certain one has a good team behind, if majority of investors does not think it would be the best one, then demand would still be low.

Then I would say that this is an investment of friends and friends. Twitter is Alpha but some times twitter alphas aren’t that much early because most big guys must have already bought in way more early before bringing it to the timeline, due to your activity on twitter u might be a bit early and even late sometimes. I think for meme coin investment, the key is early and decentralization.  Team or not, most important thing is avoid centralized token, focused on dogecoin like decentralized coin with proof of work mining,  no centralized team.

Another thing is risk control.  Meme should never be the main investment.  In my opinion, I am old school the main coin is still bitcoin and ethereum, plus may be litecoin and dogecoin.   Dogecoin is meme, but well established decentralized like bitcoin.

For meme, find the gem before twitter. a small, or tiny cap well below $1 million market cap.  ex, Cheetahcoin.

It doesn't seem that usually people find out about meme coins on Twitter, however this is usually a scam. The second thing people find out about meme coins is after it starts trading on the exchange, but that doesn't guarantee it's not a scam either. Therefore, meme coins are just a casino.

Personally I think it's best to use Dexscreener and their filters (found on the far right of your screen on their website "at the time of this post") to discover new tokens. I do agree that X and Telegram are good sources but lets be honest.. you have to build up private channel access on Telegram and connect to get insider information to have a real chance at early coins "ideally" before the pump and on X you have to follow the right people or curate some pretty decent search footprints to sift through their content to find upcoming launches / new tokens etc.

Nevertheless, for me personally as a caller, research is everything to me. It's not sexy and it's not easy but in the long run it does pay off.

I tend to view these as additional sets of eyes to spot coins in additional to my own manual research. Call bots are also helpful in finding tokens early on their marketcap but even there you do have to do some screening.

"Can be" is a bit of a stretch. For every thousand meme tokens out there, there is maybe one that could make money, so you are still gambling and taking a way bigger risk. At least with gambling, you could lower the chances, like lets say you put all your money on black on roulette, you will either win or you will lose, there is roughly 50% chance, minus the zero of course, but it's close to that, you have a chance.

With meme tokens, you are not anywhere near that level, you have less than 1% chance to find the good one, and you may lose all your money. All coins/tokens are risky to own, and when we buy them, we should know that we are taking a risk (not only with the new ones), but the newer the project is, the riskier it is. Many coins/tokens projects have failed and many had escaped through and people are still appreciating them till today. It is all about our affinity to take risks and how we can detect good projects. We should never rush and also not believe everything we see and read on social media even though that is the avenue to get fast information about any coin/token (new or old), but do a thorough investigation first.

There are app feeds too aside from the most popular social media platform, they are so informative as well, especially if you are following the experienced guys in the field who will always alert you of new projects, how to go about it and all that. That's right, dex has been a good tool for a long time and now that meme coins are starting to appear like shibb, bonk etc I found them there in passing. For doge I found it already listed on cex. Because early purchase makes it easy to get the cheapest and easiest price, I myself prefer to buy on dex than presale on a website to get meme coins to deposit major meme coins only. more visible with the gainer and losser, for me it makes sense than spilling money in the internal initial sale.

I don't think Twitter is a good source of information to get adequate information to be early on a project. Am not saying it doesn't count but most times when a token start trending on Twitter, most people already invested in it especially memecoin so that vulnerable people can buy the hype. If there is a pre-sale, you can be sure people wanna make their money after the listing on CEXs. DEX is a good place to identify those 100 to 1000× memecoin but oftentimes there are lots of rugpulls which still makes it wise to invest on memecoins that is trading on top exchanges like Bitget, Binance or Bybit. I have been lucky to ape and make decent money from memecoin courtesy of Bitget early listing. I bought BOME on the exchange immediately after listing and it did instant 7×. So I think it's better to get information from trusted and reputable CEX because they have listing teams that verify a project before listing it. Although not all the tokens do perform very well and that's where individual DYOR also comes in.
