Could be that the forum already has a widespread of merit sources ?

Currently merit sources alone can generate 33K merits per month but I doubt that much merits spend on the forum per month. That might give an impression that we don't really needs other merits at the moment but admin might consider removing the inactive users or if they don't spend the allocation too often because that can be utilised by others if given the opportunity.

I'm not a merit source, but still I have quite a few smerits in my account which I will try to distribute when I have time 

The position has become difficult to handle and a few members were threatening me to distribute merits in our local. Hence, I have retired from the position 

Ahh okay, got it. It was indeed paki who threatened Heisenberg to distribute merits.
In fact, Heisenberg left the position of merit source just because paki started pushing him for spending merits.
He didn't want to get into this drama and so he quit the position. If this wouldn't have happened, we would still have had a merit source for our board.

If any of you guys missed the big news, I'll let you know @TheUltraElite merit source application were accepted recently and now we have an active merit source to encourage good posts made, so all we need is to make the good posts and eventually things will start aligning in the right way. I believe we will see some big changes from the June update.

Haan he was handing out merits in other thread so figured it out. Chalo ek syapa toh khatam hua, congrats to ultra. Last month posts went down so ab shitposting mein jyada dhyan lagane ki baari hai without any fuss.

I reckon, 6-7 active posters should do the okayish job but not sure if we are hitting 200-ish posts anytime soon, for that we might need more hands on the deck.

If the cycling of merits is not done then the regular meriting of posts in this section will not happen. There is no point in hoarding the merits, make sure you spend some everyday.

Have some regular discussion threads (ok, just one for now), keep it active everyday and some threads will come up depending on current events.

Don't have a habit of hoarding merits anyway. I feel too much ameeri agar 5-6 smerits jama ho jaye toh isliye hamesha stock khali kar deta hun, without thinking much.

I usually don't do due diligence when sending merits, i still don't do any even after last drama (pakhi) but aap dhyan rakhna since you are the merit source. You never know kab kya ho jaye because log bade velle hai yahan.

I tried for a couple of weeks to engage in discussions here, but it seems the Indian community here is limited to 5-6 active members. We need to incentivize people initially, apart from their merits. How about a contest where the monthly best posters in the Indian Community (will be decided by voting of active members) will be awarded some BTC? I am sure it will boost some engagement.
We can all contribute $5 a month for this (of course, whoever can). I understand this is not the best approach in the long term, but at least it will incentivize those in high ranks who do not need merits. If we can have like 10 members who are willing to pay $5 each month, we can even do like 20$ for new accounts to post more seriously.

For a long run, i feel that engagement should be organic, that's what we are missing.

Yeah, any sort of incentive be it like merits, btc competition ( in the past some members used to run raffle etc) will help in spike of temporary engagement but i strongly believe that it won't be permanent and not to mention it could also attract so called account farming.

Aur tbh it's hard to trust, pata nahi kab kaun kis ka alt nikal jaye. Dhood ka dhula chanch bhi phuk phuk ke pita hai.lol

1.4Bn people and still counting but we don't even have the numbers in double-digit, that's a shame.

The top poster for this update is a new member, so that's a positive, and we just need to hope the numbers will increase over the time.

It will eventually happen if the participating into the discussions increases, and now I got some from here and from global boards that Ill use it when I feel appropriate.

I am in for anything that will help with attracting the users and participate in the discussions or create threads that is worth discussing and it's not a bad idea too since it's tried here already and brought some traffic but didn't last long when it's gone and also it can attract fake users who will pretend to be anything to make money. As of now merit can be enough but to merit we need posts and for that we need new threads.

Things are slowing down, may be he is busy with other priority things but hoping that we will get an update soon.

Yes, with the merit source approval there's increased activity and increased merit circulation, but for things to turn around it will take more time.
