How do you think the Dwolla announcement will effect bitcoin?  Will the price rise due to the great news?  Will it fall because the rumors will be put to rest?  Is Dwolla even capable of having an effect on the bitcoin price?  What are your thoughts?

It may have an effect, but I can't guess the effect without knowing what they will announce.  I'll just wait.

I know Producia have mentioned the currency 'Ven'..  but do they have anything to do with Bitcoin?

I vote down -- people are hoping for something BTC related, and when it's nothing, some of those that tried to "get in before the big push" will sell off while they can still take a profit (or only a small loss).

It's probably nothing to do with Bitcoin.  Cry

I wouldn't expected it to have any effect on Bitcoin price.  But you never know...

Coinbase for selling BTCs

or Vircurex for trading alt cryptocurrencies like DOGEs

My prediction is that they will release some form of a 'square' knockoff allowing anyone to accept credit cards with a smart phone or the like. Pay me for my scrying tomorrow.

There is a small fee for the "opt-in", and it does seem like a loan until they get the funds from your bank, but this should make it faster and/or easier to fund your gox account.

Quote
Instant is a new opt-in feature that provides you access to cash immediately. When you turn the feature on, you can deposit and send cash without the wait or delay users typically bump into with Dwolla. Whether you’re in a combine, on the streets of New York, walking down the Embarcadero in San Francisco, or stopping in at Mars Café in Des Moines, if you have access to the Internet, you have cash.

No more waiting, no more hunting down your ATMs, no more confusing price structures, no more hidden fees, no more interest rates, no more tricks to lure you into debt, and no more headaches. Once you subscribe, you’ll have all of the benefits of Dwolla without the wait.

Transactions are still 25 cents, except for those under $10, which are free. The feature has one participation and one penalty fee, both simple, transparent and low-cost requests.

How to use Instant

Login to your Dwolla account online.
    Click Add/Remove Features.
    Turn on the instant feature.
Once enabled, go to “Deposit Money”. You can now select Instant as a funding source. Money is now instantly available.

Here is a link.http://dwolla.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=76db41be3e3d000cb2fc7026f&id=c0b583c46a&e=a98dd14ec4

Edit:
I went into my dwolla account, and it says "Due to an overwhelming response, we are granting access to this feature as our system scales to accommodate our growing userbase. If you would like us to notify you when it is available for your account, blah blah."

It will make it faster to make relatively small purchases with btc, a good thing.  I see the price is rallying around the news, up $0.005 to $3.16 on sluggish trading.
