Anyway, I do check every now and then to make sure that my seed phrases are safe. I made a big mistake in my early days. I backed up my key on an online notepad platform and it got compromised. Never gonna do that mistake again LOL.
Keeping savings in an online wallet is much riskier than keeping them on a trading platform. I think most of us committed this foolishness in the beginning.
You tried to avoid this old error, but it does not seem that you took the correct steps since you have four backup copies. Multiple copies increase the possibility of one of them being discovered or stolen. This would have been effective if you had more than one seed, meaning that you divided your savings into more than one wallet, which can be considered a safe step as well.

Too many wallets is not necessarily safe because you can avoid hacker attacks and only lose a portion of your bitcoins if one of your wallets is hacked. But using multiple wallets for storage means you need to spend a lot of time and need to find many safe places to store those Seed Phrases. If you have an amount of money up to millions of USD, you can divide it into 2 to 3 wallets, but if it's just a few bitcoins, I think just 1 wallet is enough. As long as we ensure the safety of the seed phrase, there is nothing to fear.
Of course, it will not be useful to use multiple wallets to save a small amount, and it will also not be useful to keep more than one copy of the seed if the person wants to save the same amount on one wallet. Saving the seed can be done in a variety of ways, most of which are considered safe if it is not in an electronic copy or on the cloud. However, using more than one method to save the seed, meaning having several copies of it, increases the possibility of it being hacked. But when the amount is large and you distribute it among several wallets, I think it is better to save the seeds in different places and not in one place.

Even a single copy, once it's well secured you're safe because numerous copies surely will expose it to getting hacked. And if you should make additional copies, I think two duplicate or highest three copies should be okay and it's also advisable to divide the seeds into two and save it in a different place to minimize the risk of theft. Even if someone manage to locate the first half, finding the other second half will be difficult and it will definitely increase your security level. I personally don't have more than one copy of my seed phrase for now and just like the op pointed out, I don't usually check it because I believe frequent checking might increase the chances of hackers getting access to it although I remember where exactly I kept it. Now, I think it's high time I get additional copies reading the experience of the Op.

If you keep multiple seed phrases in one place, what's the point of using multiple wallets to store bitcoin? I'm not saying that splitting bitcoins into multiple wallets is not safe but it will also have disadvantages because having to keep multiple seed phrases safe is not easy. Furthermore, if you are sure about your security, why would you need to store bitcoins on many different wallets? Unless you don't trust your ability to protect your seed phrase and how you keep your assets safe.
You've got the wrong idea mate. You don't just put your seed phrase directly on a piece of paper or whatever you are using in order to store your seed. You use some kind of encryption before you do it. Here's an interesting method I have come up with. There are 12 or 24 words in a seed phrase based on which one you choose. Now you can divide them into 3 or 4 parts. That being 1 2 & 3 or 1 2 3 & 4. In each of those groups, you put the same amount of words (this is for a 12-word seed phrase). Each group can have 3 or 4 words based on your choosing. Then you can randomize them to get a number. For example, it could be 3412. Now you put as many random words as you want between each number. But the number of new random words should be the same. For example, if you want to put 4 words before the number 3 in the group of 3412, the number of new words after 3 4 1 and 2 should be 4 words as well.

like this RW= Random Words.
RW RW RW RW 3 (contains the actual seed) RW RW RW RW 4 (contains the actual seed) RW............................RW [it goes like this until you have a full list of random words.]

Then you can make as many copies as you want and trust me, it is gonna take months for hackers to crack this.  (if they get a hold of your word list in the first place.)

All you need is the word list, the amount of random words you put in between and the actual number after randomization. For Example 3412.
You first make sure even if someone gets their hands on the seed, they won't be able to crack it. Then you make backups. That's how I do it. [Not exactly the same method but something else that I am not going to disclose publicly.]
But yeah. Having multiple seeds in one backup is not an issue if you are able to encrypt it. ALso, you can add some dummy accounts in there as well. You know the formula so you can check all the accounts, but for hackers, it will be a nightmare.

The seed phrases of my wallet accounts are also very rarely seen by me, because they are saved on my flash drives, I don't save a phrase on my desktop or laptop especially on a mobile device.

But I get a glimpse from time to time when I open my account wallet whether it's electrum, ethereum, or Bsc wallet account. It's important to hide them so that hackers can't get them like what happens to others who steal seed phrases or private keys.

Seriously when I saw this post I started thinking of where I saw my seed phrase last (where I wrote it). The seed phrase is something many find hard to even check on from time to time. Like me I don't know where I wrote and I think if is going to be a secret then there's no need knowing where I wrote it.
But another thing is that I have people who I can comfortably show without anything happening, the thing is knowing the kind of people you find yourself around.

Lessons( 1) Do not keep your seed phrase in a particular place (2) Always check your seed phrase to be sure it is intact (3) Be sure you alone have access where your seed phrase is kept.
- I agree with you; it's too risky if we store our information in only one place, and we're the only ones who know about it. It's advisable to have at least 2 to 3 copies stored in different locations, and ideally, it's a good practice to let your spouse or a family member know about those places. Personally, I use a backup storage service in a bank, and my wife is aware of it.
- Additionally, I'd like to emphasize that we should encrypt our seed phrase. In case someone happens to discover or obtain our seed phrase, it would be challenging for them to use it if it's encrypted.

I think that dividing the seed into two or more parts is not a good idea at all, since this requires keeping each part in a separate place from the other.
Preserving a single copy of the seed is not enough, no matter how well it is secured. The assumption of loss or damage must always be taken into account, regardless of the materials from which the preservation device is made.
In one recent case, a citizen of the besieged Gaza Strip happened to lose his copy of the seed after his house collapsed during the Israeli bombing. If he did not have a password-secured wallet on his phone so he could transfer the money to a new wallet, he would have lost it forever.

I think you have given me a good reason why I think I won't stop checking my seed phrase on a regular basis even though it is safe where it is. Funny enough most of us always check  to know the current price of Bitcoin on daily basis because there lies our treasure I don't see any reason why I shouldn't check my seed phrase since it can also get misplaced or stolen because anything is possible nowadays.

After looking at the contributions I got here after making this thread, I find out that there are certain things I shouldn't do even though am no longer a newbie in the system but yes your contribution has also inspired me to not stop checking the condition of my seed phrase.

Regularly checking your seed phrase is not necessary unless there are specific circumstances that warrant it. While it's crucial to safeguard your seed phrase, frequent verification can increase the risk of exposure, especially if others have access to your personal space.

In normal circumstances, it's advisable to store your seed phrase alongside your essential documents. Treat it with the same level of care and confidentiality as you would your passport, bank statements, or other sensitive information.

However, regular checks beyond relocation are generally unnecessary if you've stored your seed phrase securely and have multiple backups. Excessive handling can introduce vulnerabilities, so it's best to minimize unnecessary exposure. Remember, your seed phrase is the key to your cryptocurrency holdings. Treat it with the utmost care and avoid unnecessary exposure to safeguard your digital assets.

Storing your seed phrase on a usb drive is not a bad option, it can be a good method of offline storage if done correctly and in a safe enviroment, but you must ensure that your usb is encrypted and you also do not store any extra data on that same usb drive. A usb drive can fail and the data on it would be lost, so the safer option is to make multiple copies of your back up on different usb drives, and also back up your seed phrase on paper.
But I get a glimpse from time to time when I open my account wallet whether it's electrum,
Your wallet is not an 'account' if it is a self custodial wallet, it is either a software or hardware wallet, you have accounts on centralized exchanges and services and it is not recommended to store your funds in their wallet.

Conclusion: Knowing too well that keeping the seed phrase and other account related information of a user private are some ways to ensure adequate security, I think we need to do a constant check on our seed phrase so that we don't end up losing it.

I stand to be corrected if there are things that were not listed as this thread is based on personal encounter and observation.
When one has stored the seed phrase safely then not checking it constantly is not a problem because we have made sure to store it in a safer place. Seed phrases are an important thing to save because this is one of the levels of security of the assets we have and when someone doesn't save them properly it can be dangerous. I rarely check it because I have stored the phrase in a much safer place that no one can reach.

But checking as a security measure may not be a problem so that we do not feel worried about the assets we have in it. But as many people have said, when you have stored it properly and safely not checking it regularly is not a big problem. Make sure that we have stored it safely so that we don't have to check it regularly.

Perhaps, the only thing we need to often check is the transaction happening in our wallet just to sure that there is nothing wrong happen and unauthorized withdrawals. Because as long as our seeds phrase kept safely, nothing to worry about, and our wallet remains untouchable.
As far as I can remember, I only check my seeds phrase twice after the creation of the wallet and when I transfer location just to be sure that I've never lost the notes I've made, it is all about crypto.

The truth is that we all hard check our seedphrae because we have the believe that where the seed phrase is, it is very safe, we only go in search for our seed phrase when it is  needed . But I'm just reasoning that it is important to check the seedphrase from time to time not only when we need to . The seedphrase is also important as the bitcoin we have in the wallet so I think the seedphrase needs to be checked the way bitcoin balance is checked in the wallet, because if the seedphrae is been tampered with their will be nothing left on the wallet.
Indeed, by looking at the transactions that occur we can check the security of our wallets, but before that happens I think it would be better to anticipate not letting it happen to other people. at least we can open the wallet periodically to make sure it is working, on the other hand a phrase backup must also be done, if something goes wrong then there is still a backup so the wallet can still function

Lessons( 1) Do not keep your seed phrase in a particular place (2) Always check your seed phrase to be sure it is intact (3) Be sure you alone have access where your seed phrase is kept.

Conclusion: Knowing too well that keeping the seed phrase and other account related information of a user private are some ways to ensure adequate security, I think we need to do a constant check on our seed phrase so that we don't end up losing it.
Of course we should check the seed phrase. Very beginning of my crypto life when I transferred my wallet for the first time, I was very upset I found that the seed phrase key of my wallet was not working. But luckily I kept the seed phrase one of my other devices otherwise all my assets would have been lost. Which is why I must also say that those who are storing their seed phrases can check if my wallet keys are correct or not. Otherwise it will not be possible to recover if any error has occurred. These actions should be taken for the safety of assets.

I stand to be corrected if there are things that were not listed as this thread is based on personal encounter and observation.

It is true that one should not always keep their phrase in a particular place so that they would always have other rescue option when it happens that one of their back ups are missing. This is very important because you would not be solely depending on one source of back up to your key phrase but when you have it saved in two or three places, you can be rest assured of the  safety of your assets when you do a regular check on them to know if they are intact where you have kept them. This measures you have mentioned is a very good on OP. If members can see the truth in what you have just said, I believe they would give it a trial.

Securing the seed phrase is the most important thing to do as Bitcoin holder. And another way to get the seed phrase if in case you lost it. You can log in to the wallet and from the wallet you can get it back but whereby you have forgotten your password then there is no way you can get it back again. I don't keep my security information or details in one place. I normally keep them outside the house and in the house so if anything happens to one side the other side is still saved.

If you keep your seed phrase in good place and saved and in several places then there is need to check on them once a while. Don't disclose your seed phrase to people around you. Because they will use it to hack you. Stay safe with you login details with your seed phrase.
