I am not surprised to see that Elsalvador has added Bitcoin to their school curriculum, firstly they added Bitcoin as amongst their legal tenders this was a good step but definitely there are citizens of Elsalvador that are still not completely enlightened about Bitcoin adding this to their school curriculum makes it better for them to be able to access good knowledge of Bitcoin and how to implement it into their daily life. In my opinion this was a great move from Elsalvador .
This curriculum about Bitcoin will provide initial knowledge about bitcoin and is good for students who are still learning about economics and there will be an explanation of Bitcoin and the economy.
It is not easy to implement a curriculum about Bitcoin because other countries are still hampered by regulatory issues that do not really support Bitcoin. This is indeed a great rare for El Salvador to be a country that adopts bitcoin not only in the payment finance sector, but also in their education sector.

What do you all think about the methodology of adoption the El Salvador government is using to shovel bitcoin knowledge to every home through school students?
Will the goal be attainable and what does this mean for your own country?

Discussions are invited.

I think this is a good move in the sense that it will sharpen the knowledge the student has about Bitcoin, which is really good because they can know everything about Bitcoin so they can invest wisely any time they want to do so. Some times I used to wish that I knew Bitcoin right from when I was still in school; then I would have asked some of my uncles who gave me gifts then to convert those gifts to Bitcoin because it was cheap then. In my opinion, El Salvador has taken bold steps that will be very beneficial to everyone.

There are some people who don't know anything about Bitcoin in my country, and if this approach is taken in my country, it would really be an advantage to the citizens of my country because it would expose everyone to having a solid knowledge about Bitcoin.

Sometimes our government could be a barricade to our advancement and enlightenment through their unsolicited policies of restrictions and hassles towards certain technology. Cryptocurrency is revolutionizing the way people use and spend money and those that are not following the wave will be way far behind 10+ years from now with an economy predominantly dominated by traditional financial systems that can't compete with the reality of such time because the one they knew is obsolete and incongruous to what is currently obtainable.

...What do you all think about the methodology of adoption the El Salvador government is using to shovel bitcoin knowledge to every home through school students?

Well, if El Salvador recognized Bitcoin as a means of payment, then it must teach everyone how to use it. And accordingly, this should be done as early as possible, starting with school education. And it will be much easier for a teenager to understand this than for an elderly person who is used to using cash.

I'm not surprised that they're still up to this whole thing all over again... I can't also give a direct proposal as to why I feel their enthusiasm is Heavily backed with the fact that they MAY HAVE had something to do with the inventories and plannings of this whole structure.... Could someone help think the same way??! Ofcourse, rhetorical!
Tutoring the kids would possibly be the best options for them - especially since the future would be in Thier hands, and would definitely be controlled by what they learnt to be true. They'll also make history globally should Thier endeavours pave way for them.

When I read some things stating that El Salvador bitcoin adoption has failed, I always try to correct the impression. Government is a continue thing, even if the government ends, the incoming one will take over. But now it is still even the same government that initiated the idea.
What I know is that El Salvador didn't do the basics before they forced bitcoin on her citizens and the citizens answered by protesting and distrusting the process. This initiative of including bitcoin in the curriculum and employing teachers to teach bitcoin would have been one of the first steps to be taken in the adoption of bitcoin. Humans are afraid of change, unless you walk them through the change. With this development, it is evidently obvious that El Salvador is not going back on bitcoin adoption.

Given that there is a main topic about El Salvador in the Bitcoin Discussion, I wonder why there is a new topic at all and why in Beginners & Help?
I applaud you for bringing that to my notice, quite alright both topics are projected towards El Salvador, but there is a discrepancies between the two topics Two years ago today, El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, meanwhile i wouldn't mind locking my topic if it does spells out an iota of duplication or spam despite the difference in their informations and discussion.

I wasn't thinking about that topic, but about the main topic about El Salvador, which is also in the Bitcoin discussion, and someone there already published this news -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5342087.msg62812210#msg62812210

It is always good to search the forum (even visually) and not open new threads if there is already a discussion on the same topic. Of course, each topic should be in the appropriate board.

Wow... To me that's a brilliant move by the government of El Salvador, whilst the children are learning about other subjects they'll be learning also about Bitcoin and it's contents.
This would also serve as a means of spreading the knowledge and awareness about Bitcoins.

It would be nice if other countries government officials emulate the example been set by El Salvador. But come to think of it would mean that students have an extra load to their academic activities, but not withstanding that's for the better interest of the students.

Bitcoin was made legal tender in 2021. In 2023, the government realized that kids needed to be taught about Bitcoin. Don't you think this decision should have been taken by the Education Ministry in 2022? While I welcome this new chapter, I feel they should have made this decision earlier. It is the same old story - the government is always late in making the right decision.

In my country, there is a state which has already added Bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency to the school curriculum. It happened last year; other states have not changed the curriculum yet but they will have to do it soon. I think every country where Bitcoin is popular, the government should add Bitcoin to its school curriculum. Kids need to be taught about Bitcoin as they are taught about their local fiat. That will help the country and the government of that country in the future.

This is never late yet, bitcoin was adopted as a legal tender and before anything further more to that they have to be sure the whole thing had been settled, circulated and well accepted by the people engaging it in their daily transactions, thinking about bringing the idea of teaching the young children in schools two years after is not that bad, atleast they make the move and act the plan, this is just an orderly model adopted by following one step at a time, I don't expect them to do that immediately bitcoin was adopted, they needs to put some things in plan.

This is a very great news coming from the first country that accepted bitcoin as a legal tender. Bitcoin adoption does not just mean the government accepting it in the country, it also have to provide means of making it suitable for the citizens to use it. Students having the knowledge from young age should be a good development of making it a mass adoption through the students to the citizens. Which means that; the student’s knowledge from bitcoin can be used as a skill to help enhance their learning in the fintech sector where the world is gradually moving towards. This is a great development and I recommend this step by the El-Salvadoran government.

What do you all think about the methodology of adoption the El Salvador government is using to shovel bitcoin knowledge to every home through school students?
Will the goal be attainable and what does this mean for your own country?
We are optimistic about what Elsavador did. I hope what the president did can be a reference for other countries to do the same. Because Bitcoin is the future of overcoming financial problems, Many countries out there have the same problem like Elsavador, and want to get out of the economic crisis. Of course for fix that, the government need good human resources which can be implementing the program. The student is future, they are prepared to be leaders and understand the new technology. With this situation, I am very agree in what Elsavador did, and hope my country do a comparative study on Elsavador.

Things were made very easy in El-Savador because the people have adopted bitcoin for their daily use, the government had made it a legal tender and they have also made available every provisions needed to aid towards the bitcoin adoption, we also have to see El-Savador as a country whereby it does not only made an announcement on bitcoin adoption without making adequate provisions of the infrastructures and system to help towards the adoption fot the people, there are some countries as well, where bitcoin education is been done and student pay as well in bitcoin for thier school fees, this has to do with hiw a country is being linient in its regulations such a way that it helps and encourage bitcoin users to make payments in it in their country and teach young ones in schools.

Will the goal be attainable and what does this mean for your own country?
El Salvador already successfully made Bitcoin a legal tender, thus whatever goal/experiment they make with the currency will be attainable, but this definitely means nothing for my country and others where Bitcoin isn't a legal tender. Don't expect many countries to make Bitcoin a legal tender or to adopt it in their schools like El Salvador did, situations differ and most countries in the world today wouldn't see any need to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender. They can regulate/tax it, allow people trade/own it, but they wouldn't officially make it one of their currencies.

This country was the first to adopt Bitcoin when it was tendered and officially legalized in 2021. El Salvador is the only country that has given bitcoin the most legitimacy and has adopted it as their national currency, and the country's government allows all goods to be purchased with bitcoin. Moreover, various institutions have established Bitcoin education for students from where they do PHD on Bitcoin, the country's student community works to improve the Arab especially about Bitcoin. and the way this country is progressing now, it will improve more in the future, EL Salvador has taken all the steps to improve the country now, the government of the country will definitely succeed.

El Salvador is gradually making their country bitcoin-centric. At first they adopted Bitcoin as a legal document, where a significant number of people opposed this decision but still the President of El Salvador stood by his decision. Later, the bill of petrol pump, gas station, coffee shop or different restaurants gave the benefit of the council through Bitcoin. In other words, El Salvador is gradually moving forward with its own plans. Now they have taken a big step where Bitcoin is included in the curriculum of their country. Students will get to know about Bitcoin from the beginning and they will become more experienced about Bitcoin in time so that later they will be able to improve themselves as well as improve their country through Bitcoin.

El Salvador government is at  it again after the country had adopted bitcoin as a legal tender in June of 2021 as one of the first country to take such bold step.

Quote

The Ministry of Education in El Salvador partnered with Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB), a nonprofit educational organization, to make Bitcoin-related content part of the school curriculum in the country. The pilot program will train 150 teachers to impart Bitcoin education, bringing the program to 75 public schools.
Source:
The El Salvador government has again I'm the bid to promote bitcoin adoption draft out a plan of teaching about 150 teachers from 7 different schools who will in turn teaching school students about the basics of  bitcoin and it's related content. And if the project gains success as expected the bitcoin public education it's going to be spread in all schools all over the country.

This action in my opinion is made necessary to bridge the  knowledge gap about bitcoin among the future generations of El Salvador.

If other governments follow the path of El Salvador as a nation it won't be long the campaign for a widespread bitcoin adoption will be achieved.

What do you all think about the methodology of adoption the El Salvador government is using to shovel bitcoin knowledge to every home through school students?
Will the goal be attainable and what does this mean for your own country?

Discussions are invited.

For sure this a good start, this is probably a good move overall since knowledge is probably where a lot of investors are lack, Having to know Bitcoin at school is I think a good thing, But I don't really think that it is necessary to be online bitcoin, this kind of subject could be cryptocurrency or just completely make it something about financial or investment subjects where students can learn how they are going to manage there financial I would say that it is a big thing in my experience having the right mindset when it comes to financial. That is actually where I started to invest in cryptocurrency luckily I also learned a lot here in the future and learned as well from a lot of speakers.

There are already cryptocurrency or blockchain technology-related jobs where you could be hired i think that's already a good start so that it wasn't really just about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency this student is actually learning about the technology and probably would develop a project on blockchain technology, most of the developers are hired and paid for a big amount of money so it wasn't a bad thing if they are going to make a program that teaches this kind of stuff, It is for sure going to be a big help if they wanted cryptocurrency. For sure they were Bitcoin believers but i don't know if it is great to only focus on Bitcoin development.

A game changing decision for El Salvador. They will surely surpass others in the future, I'm sure of it, if they successfully establish this thing. Bitcoin/Crypto education has become a must for everyone. But many doesn't value it or doesn't know the significant of it. Bitcoin is the best thing that happened to me personally, it's the new future. And El Salvador just keep adapting to it and surprising everybody.

You know what I love about this country? It is the fact that they are intentionally pursuing their Bitcoin goals and more interestingly, it is all encompassing.  What the world thought at first was that they just wanted to make Bitcoin a legal tender, reducing their dependence on the US dollar and improve their economy. But here they are taking it a step forward by going into the educational sector.

Once the teachers get it and the students get, there going to be an explosive knowledge of Bitcoin and new tools for Bitcoin tailored to the people of El Salvador. I feel that this blueprint will be copied by other South- American countries.

I feel sorry for those who still doesn't get it. Many still deny it's blessing! Such a shame. Bitcoin could be the key to them but they chose to abandon it. If I say about my country, it's still illegal. Though many use it to provide for their families. But they do it hidden. They can't say of it's existence to others. Where we live in we don't have crypto education, we don't share our crypto knowledge with others with friends, as unfortunate it may look, it is how it is. A harsh reality.  I am just looking forward to that dayx when I can use crypto freely & openly.

that's because the government thinks they control all the finances in their country. so as long as the use of fiat is still very reasonable for people to use and no one feels burdened by leaving their money in the bank. everything will be fine. the government will think very simply. they regulate the fiat that exists in society and they benefit from it all.
The revolution in the use of fiat money in most countries has now reached the use of digital payments. It is also made easier for the public even though all that happens is transferring money from one bank account to another bank account.

El Salvador will be a study example of more countries that may be interested in adopting Bitcoin to be legalized in their countries as legal tender. and when all this is done in more countries, of course, learning related to Bitcoin should be included in the school curriculum.
