[banned mixer] review


To be honest, this is one of the best bitcoin mixers that I have used before. I think there are some features to be added but the site looks nice and I like the website user interface, it looks cool and good.

I used both browser and Tor for it and both worked excellent. I tried it on other browsers and it is working good. Because I have no problem to use Tor with it, I used it for mixing bitcoin and my experience was excellent. There are four stages after an address is generated for you to pay into to get a mixing coin, after you pay into that address, I noticed without confirmation on the bitcoin network, it indicated awaiting deposit almost immediately, confirmation was also later checked ✔️ not quite long, likewise preparing the order. After mixing and payouts, it displayed finished.



   



Fee

A minimum service fee of 0.4% for basic, which is adjustable up to 1.8% which is the percentage the standard fee begins, and up to 3.6% where the premium fee begins, which is adjustable up to 5% maximum. So the fee is adjustable from 0.4% to 5%.

Aside service fee, there is another fee which is not dynamic but fixed per every address used. That is a fee of 0.0002 BTC for each bitcoin address the coin to be mixed will be sent to. That is, if sending to one address, 0.0002 BTC will be charged in addition, if two addresses are submitted for the mixing, 0.0002 BTC will be charged for each address which is 0.0004 BTC and so on. The site makes it in a way you can easily understand it.

To be fear about this, this is one of the mixers with one of the cheapest fee if you decided to go for the lowest fee as possible. In mixing, the longer the transaction the better the mixing, so that should not be a problem. Maybe as time goes on, the fee may be increased, but it is actually still one of the cheapest for now.


Sending to many addresses

I like how it is, it has a slider that you can edit the percentage that you want each address to receive:



All you have to do is to click on those colours in circles to adjust the percentage amount of bitcoin that you want each address to receive. But it would have been better if the amount can be edited, like this which belongs to the first address:

If it is percentage of bitcoin to mix is customizable, it would be better. I noticed it is hard to slide those percentage to the accurate amount someone desires. Or maybe the mixer is encouraging the same amount not to be sent to different addresses which can strengthen anonymity as the amount in percentage on each are always slightly different. It will be good if the mixer owner can address this issue, if due to higher anonymity, I think it is also a good idea, but which some people may not like.



The minimum amount to be mixed is 0.001 BTC while the maximum is 10 BTC. This is distinctly stated while mixing and no one that wants to mix will not see it. Although, it is not seen directly on the website but it is there while about to mix. Because of this low fee, I will advice the Tumbler to include all the necessary fee on the main mixing page of the website. If some people do not see the fee, they can be discouraged to use the mixing service, but they can be encouraged with low fee if displayed on the mixer main mixing page.



The website anonymity metre, Fee calculator and Order overview

I like these features about on website, including the fee calculator. I will not talk much about the fee calculator and Order overview. The fee calculator works fine and the order overview before sending coin to the address the mixer will provide also works accurately. I like the anonymity meter (called anonymizing meter on the mixing website). If you click on the anonymity meter, you will see this:





I like how it is, it checked ✔️ the important information that it supposed to check and did not check the low fee and minimum delay. If someone can think about what that means, it means you can still choose low fee because the more the delay, the higher the anonymity of the mixing. Nice work there.


I tried to double spend the coin I sent with replace-by-fee support but the transaction remain unconfirmed. Nice work there.



My suggestions

Acording to my review, I have one suggestion. If possible the amount in percentage to be mixed into different addresses can be edited, it would be excellent, instead of using only fee slider.

I was able to use segwit single sig and multisig addresses, but I was unable to use pay-to-taproot address. It was the third address that I wanted to use but I had no option than to use single sig segwit address again. It will be good if pay-to-taproot address is supported.


I used it for two bitcoin address with standard fee, it worked fast
I used it for one address to double spend and high fee with higher service fee, I was unable to double spend. Excellent.
I used it with low fee transaction while I send to the mixer address, I saw this error and transaction not processed likely be I used replace-by-fee, although for the testing:

I downloaded the letter of guarantee, all are 0.9 kilobytes and not opening by any text editor.


I later try fourth transaction using high network fee (when I was sending to the mixer) but low service fee of 0.4% on the mixing site. I was surprised that the transaction was fast after the mixer received my coins with successful transaction.


I have sent the mixer customer support message with the txid of the failed transaction, let me see how fast they will respond and include it on this post.


The mixing service is good, even with low fee. But when I used replace-by-fee, I got that error. I will advice people not to use replace-by-fee when using this mixer. I will edit this post to know about how fast their customer support is.


Edit:
After I contact [banned mixer] customer care, I copied the link displayed for further conversation. I later click on the link and it opened on my browser. I can decide to copy and paste the link on my browser anytime I want. If you close the link and open it again after sometime, the last conversation with the customer support were still there. In short, I like how they attended to me. My bitcoin address has been credited.

But I will like people to still review their letter of guarantee to know if it is now working good.

[1] I already asked them this question and you can find their answer here^[3], the concept of LIFETIME DISCOUNT or discount system means that in one way or another the users’ data is stored and it is not possible to verify that it is The data is deleted and the tag is kept, so there are two options:


  A) Delete the system and just ask the user, have you used the mixer before? If the answer is, the coins will be obtained from the system stock instead of the system stock + customer deposits.
  B) Adding two encryption layers one encrypted by the user and generate tag: It seems complicated, but since Tumbler Code = Reverse Encryption Algorithm ( Deposit key + Total amount ) user manually encrypts the key and sends the tag to the system, assuming that the system will delete everything and leave the tag as a private fingerprint for each user.

[2] Since humans naturally like to pay the lowest fees, the fee option will always be 0.40%, 1.82%, or 3.63%. Accordingly, blockchain analysis services can easily track withdrawal amount and compare it to 0.40%, 1.82%, or 3.63% + 0.0002BTC with any 72 hours inputs. Adding an option to make it random will enhance privacy^[2].


To test the mixing service, I will test the service at its weakest state, which is the lowest fees and one withdrawal address, and I will make hypotheses based on them:

 Security level: Basic, Service fee:0.40%Delay:00:00  
The mixer will be successful if I cannot get my deposit address after diving through the last 10 transactions.

I noticed that I got a P2SH deposit address. It is better to use a mixture of P2SH, P2WPKH, and P2TR addresses to avoid leaving a distinctive fingerprint, or at least P2WPKH to reduce fees.

Success:  After about a minute, I received my coins. By tracking the record of this transaction, I found that it dates back to yesterday. By tracking it, it is not possible to link it to my inputs, but these transactions have a pattern, which is that each address contains two transactions.


Important notes:
I noticed that when I received payments, the mixer was paying a lot of fees. This may be good for users, as the transactions will be confirmed quickly, but it is a fingerprint from which tracking services can determine the mixer’s addresses.
My transaction had a lot of inputs and yet I paid less fees while the Mixer transaction had very high fees.

Unfortunately, this is very disappointing. I received the same coins that I sent when testing Basic, and this indicates that there is not enough stock of bitcoins or complete reliance on the tumbler code.

I used a new private address to conduct the test, not linked to the previous address, and adjusted the delay to 3 hours.

Success: I succeeded in obtaining coins that seemed more random this time. I tried to trace the history of these coins, but I did not find any unique fingerprint.


Important notes:
I would like to confirm that once again I received a transaction with high fees, which is bad for Mixer. I hope that other members share the transaction fees that they received because in all cases Fee per vbyte were ~ 40satoshi

My [banned mixer] Bitcoin Mixer Review

For this review I chose to use BRAVE browser as well as Firefox.

First impressions:

The website looks and feels professionally done. I didn’t get any connection issues or anything.

I didn’t see the before mentioned problem with switching back to the original language while going to a new window. I tried to adjust the language to German, switched to another site like “mix now”, and it was still German. It didn’t switch back to the original. I also tried to use the site with different IPs from countries like Germany, Italy, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and France, it all worked well.
Since I didn’t have any problems with mixing and so on I didn’t fee the need to contact support. So I cannot grade their level of support but since there will be 20 reviews I guess some other members might do that.



Mixing:

The fees start at 0.40% at the basic level and can adjust up to 5% at the premium level.
Between 1.8 and 3.6 is the standard level which reflect a “good anonymizing” on the meter. Basically even if you put it as low as 0.4% fee for a basic level it still counts it as a “good anonymization” .

From the premium service fee ( 3.6% and up) it counts as a strong anonymization.

I think it is nice that you can adjust the fee to whereever you want between 0.4 - 5% in 0.01 digits. Some other sites have set fees which only offer limited parameters to adjust. I really appreciate having options.


For this review I have used a 1,5% service fee for the mixing within brave browser and a 2,5% fee when mixing in firefox browser.

For the first mix I set the “Delay” to 1hr.0min. The 2nd mix was done with a 1hr.30min delay.
After agreeing to the terms, which are quite basic, I came to the site where to send the transaction.



The minimum deposit is 0.001 BTC, that is also what I used. It is important to know that you of course pay the selected % fee for the service but also pay a mandatory 0.0002 BTC fee for every receiving address.
So when you mix “only” 0.001 BTC you will receive 0.000785 after a 1.5% fee plus the 0.0002 BTC.

I think given the mempool is not that full with high fees charging 0.0002 is quite high and it would be better to have a some sort of dynamic fee. Paying 6$ where 1$ is more than enough seems a little bit like a waste of money.


After sending the btc and having gotten 1 confirmation the countdown for the 1 hour delay that I chose began to start.



Once the countdown had finshed the mixed coins were sent immediately with a reasonable fee pretty much guaranteeing a confirmation in the next block.




Summary:

All in all it was a very good experience. 1 small thing mentions in the cons below I didn’t witness any problems or errors on the site. With both browsers, BRAVE as well as Firefox it all worked smooth.
After sending the btc, everything updated quickly and the final amount was sent to my wallet address in time using a high fee.
I like the fee adjustment part but I am not a fan of the relatively high mandatory sending fee.

The design of the site is solid and also easy to navigate. In my opinion a person that has never used a mixer before could use this site quite easy. Everything is self explanatory and if there are questions there is a FAQ at the bottom of this site. I checked the FAQ and I think all relevant questions can be answered there.
There is also a blog section with some articles inside but I didn’t bother to read them.
Another link at the bottom of the site is the “fee section” explaining discount rates for higher mix amounts. The discount only start from 1 btc so I guess it’s not for the average user.




Pros:

- easy to navigate site
- several languages to choose from
- adjustable fees
- various address types to choose from
- overall a fast experience

Cons:

- mandatory transaction fee seems a bit high and could be dynamic
- FAQ, even though explaining everything well, could be written better
- when opening the letter of guarantee link I always got an error and had to enter the ref # manually to make it work
- when offering discount maybe they shouldn't start at amounts as high as 1-10 btc for the first level
- it would be nice if the user can choose to change how many % would go to to how many addresses in a different way, by manual input for example

Yeah I meant the transaction fee, as I wrote  . The other fee is the mixing fee.
But I understand it might be confusing.
