I have often talked about this with friends. I hate to see animals being used for labor, entertainment, or as a means of survival. I don’t even find games that involve real animals interesting. I once saw people betting on two animals fighting fiercely while spectators watched and screamed in excitement, it was disturbing.

It’s a good thing AI is here to give us a substitute. Avatars can be used instead in order to reduce animal torture.

I have also been an animal rights activist all my life, not to mention that at home I have 9 cats and a little dog that I picked up from the street. Sometimes it is difficult because my wife bothers me when I go there to feed her and pick up her waste, but it is something that I do with great pleasure. However, when an animal goes to work it is abuse. Likewise, there are dogs that are used for drugs, to detect drugs. I believe that in those organizations there is no animal abuse, However, an animal should be free and happy.

i dont think if there any thread opened specifically for dog racing, but dog racing has been emphasized in different discussion. but i believe why people dont usually talk much about dog race is because it is not that profitable like other sports. it is always hard to predict the dog that wins in a race. dog race is just like the prediction of the next pop that was newly conducted, where the chances of getting right one is very impossible. if betting has only two option like team 1 and team 2 it is possible to pick the most likely one to win than making prediction where the option is 5,6 or7 of course that will result to making money for the house instead of making profit.

Buffalo racing specifically water-buffalo is popular here in our province when there is a festival to celebrate. It's one of the events most awaited by people since it's rare to see buffalo's running very fast. They race in a dry rice field while their owner is in the back riding a cart that is tied to that buffalo. Adults make a small bet who's buffalo is going to win. It's a fun and competitive competition among buffalo owners that are usually farmers.

As for dog racing, I only see them during dog convention where dog lovers gather. They usually do it on large breed type of dogs that are trained for security. They are organized by major companies so I don't think betting is allowed unless it's being done under the table.

indeed ai has been used to replace animals when it comes to product testing tho not completely animals are still being used massively by a lot of companies to test their products but for those who can afford ai they just use ai to replicate human organs and biological systems

but when it comes to using animal for entertainment, i doubt ai will be used to replace that since it begs the question of whether people will find robots entertaining instead of real life animals?

Isn't it weird for people to find real life animals entertaining in a negative way? Like real life animal battles, races and many more where people have to make money from stressing and exploiting this animals. I don't find it appealing. But my joy is still in the fact that we are beginning to see some improvements with technology in the use of animals for all this. Soon, there will be appropriate laws to address all this.

You're right, this is way better than of those that includes brutality to animals that one has to win and the other has to be defeated in terms of having a blood bath. This also strengthens their physicality and requires to train with their owners so, this is why we see this as a legal way of using dogs in a race just like the horses and pigs - yes, there are some pig races too.

I've only seen dog racing in some movies and that is as far as I know about the sport, it's not among popular sports, I think that the most popular animal sports should be horse racing. Horse racing is probably more popular because your can analyze the experience and ability of the riders but other animal games like dog racing that they race alone it might not be easy to analyze. I've heard different animal games that sounds hilarious to me like rat race, they are not important sports so the spectators will be very few people that share the same interest.

I haven't bet on them, but I know that there are dog race, similar to horse racing. But the thing with dog race is that it might be very hard to follow. I mean there should be a like a past records of the dog that you can look at and then all other dogs that he will ran to so that we will know who will be the favorite and who has a better chance of winning. And not just blatantly betting on them as you might lose your money.

And most likely one reason as well is that it's not as popular as other games that involves animal. In the old days, I worked in an office. And our CEO decided to organize a betting (cockroach racing) during the corporate party.

It was a big surprise for all of us! He brought big Madagascar cockroaches to the office, packing them in separate boxes. He even tied the boxes with colorful ribbons so that everyone would think that these were gifts for the company's employees.

He also ordered a cockroach racetrack (with separate running tracks for each cockroach) from a carpentry shop. We stuck pieces of paper with our names on the backs of the cockroaches, placed bets and the race began! It was a lot of fun!

I'm not familiar about this and don't see those virtual dog racing game since what I know familiar is virtual horse racing game.

Dog racing is also called greyhound betting on some platforms.  It is popular in the UK and Ireland. I have also not placed a bet on this sport since it is not popular. Julien_Olynpic I am surprised that we have sports for variety of animals you mentioned. It would be good to witness some of them but I wonder how slow and boring the turtle racing will be. I will always support any animal sports that are not violent or cause suffering to animals.

It seems like all I know is horse racing, but Dog racing in gambling, particularly online, I don't seem to see any such games in casinos, are there any?

Greyhound racing is popular in my country but not as popular as it once was. I havent
seen odds for this type of racing online, it seems it is only in a bookmakers shop.

Its becoming less popular, so much so that Wales and New Zealand have banned
