But is it possible? I don't know if theymos or any other admin's real information is exposed anywhere inside or outside the forum. Back in the day, Bitcoin and Silkroad, everything was very new. Maybe nobody thought exposing their identity could be that serious! Who would have thought Ross would get a sentence that is unimaginable? But nowadays, everyone is pretty concerned about their identity and privacy. I'm sure administrators have hidden their real and virtual identities very well. How can China or the USA arrest you if they don't know who theymos is? It doesn't make sense. Or maybe I am wrong. I don't know how admins and moderators maintain their identities. But I know one thing they are not fool enough to exposing their own identity. They knows very well the risk involved.

There's no proof, but I'm sure every people ever leave their identity somewhere, stay anonymous when you was born is almost impossible. They might not share their identity to unknown sites or people, but they may share to someone they trust. IIRC the administrator did help the court to catch Ross, but this is nothing surprised because this forum is adopting US laws.

Each day various countries request persons in other countries to be arrested and transfered. It depends from various agreements and laws. There is no place for laugh - ask any lawyer.

All these cases are for actual criminal acts (or accusation of it) not for something as arbitrary and laughable as "discussing Bitcoin on a forum". Not to mention that Bitcoin is not banned in China in the way you think it is; mining bitcoin, CEXes that were laundering money with 0 fee, ICOs, etc. are banned.

Besides, there is a higher chance that US arrests theymos like they did BurtW than there is China arresting the Chinese board's moderator.

Oh, c'mon.  I know the Chinese government is pretty damn harsh, but there's no way in hell they're going to extradite any native Chinese who might be living in other countries because they're using a discussion forum about bitcoin.  There's insanity, and then there's that hypothetical situation.  It's never going to happen.

But I don't think the Russian authorities are nearly as strict about enforcing their ban, and I think they allow much more freedom of expression than China does (but I could be mistaken).  In any case, my point is that they're two different countries so it's not exactly apples to apples.

Is that what this is?  The topic sounds pretty far fetched to me, and if people were arrested or otherwise sanctioned for simply discussing bitcoin that would be a first, wouldn't it?  It'd also be a bleak new low for humanity.

I don't think this has anything to do with any admin here or the china subforum, here is a community and China has no legal power over here its left for them to ban their users and not to prosecute any admin or mod that is working in this forum, as I can see I think there were other countries that was ban from using bitcoin and not bitcointalk, yet their citizens were activity promoting bitcoin making use of this forum.. For example we Nigerians. There were sometimes our government sat a restriction not to transaction or associates our local bank account with bitcoin and cryptocurrency, we all obeyed and started using p2p that doesn't mean that we that are active here are being penalized or prosecute for being active and making use of the forum here.
