One of the things that could make a gambler do such things is only if he or she is an addicted gambler. I come to a conclusion that says gamblers put themselves in bad situations, more especially when they use money that they have budgeted for other things to gamble. It is not a good idea to do such things, but if anyone is involved in those things, I don't think such a person can be trusted with money.
Gambling is not a must and others should not see it as a must if they don't gamble. It is said that gambling is for fun, but I still think that a responsible person shouldn't have fun all the time and still responsible person shouldn't allow his or her fun to lead him or her, in to something that he or she will not be able to control, it is easy to become addicted to things more especially when we are too familiar with them.
