I am confused as to why this thread was moved to the current section it is in.

I clicked to the see the content of the post you are talking about from my own view the post below to speculation section and not altcoin section but, looking from what op wrote over there it's actually confusing because you wouldn't give exact place where the post should belong because he do also analysis about Ethereum but he first analyzed that of bitcoin so this shows it should belong to speculation section as you did mentioned. Usually the poster can moved it where he thinks the post belonged to but the mod can moved it back to where he thinks is belongings to instead of the original poster moving to place not suitable.
The thing is first moved can be from op while the rest could probably be from the mods in my opinion.

Yeah I need 40 posts a week and I am over 100 for the week. As I always posted a lot and it never was a big issue to write a lot of info on the internet.

No doubt you make more than 100 posts actually after reading this reply I get to read this one where he shared his competition with you in terms of posts, that's very productive although a one tries hard to cross other, overall making 100+ posts in a week, not an easy task, it does become a little easy when you post in local. Talking about myself, I have to make 40 posts and my posts cross 50 or 60 sometimes, lastly I remember I made more than 80 posts when the post quota was 60 posts per week. That's why I said making 100+ are not an easy task because 80 posts was not easy for me hehe.

The thread he did was very much in tune with my '2015-2017 pattern Is matching the current 2023-?  pattern thread.' It is why I read it and realized it was moved around quite weirdly. So I asked about it here.

there is 1 sentence on the entire thread that side mentions eth.  there are far more sentences talking about btc.

I could start a really long thread on why some alt coin info must be allowed in context in btc areas. But I won't do that here.

I will refer to this post in my difficulty thread it references Doge and even shows a Doge difficulty thread. But frankly the

point of the post is Doge is affecting BTC difficulty. I kind of think his eth reference is the same.

this post is in my difficulty thread for BTC and poses a theory I have about Bitmain using excess gear in rotation to gain more profit. This practice cause a lot of fluctuation in BTC difficulty within the 13-14 day difficulty adjustments.

Showing the Doge chart is absolutely need  to illustrate my idea.

Thus some alt coin info is needed in some BTC posts.

If you read carefully, he's analyzing Bitcoin's move, but he think the news about Blackrock is accepting Ethereum ETFs will make Bitcoin bullish. He's not predicting if Ethereum price will reach x price nor will bullish/bearish.

Usually it's very rare to see most post that talks about altcoin being allowed in the bitcoin discussion sections but however, just as the post you referenced here such can be allowed if not moved to speculation board, at least it would be a bit of mixed discussion knowing too well that such post doesn't belong there.
But I so much love the way it was moved to reduce some forms of random post and flooding the the bitcoin sections with altcoin post, again it's very easy to talks about bitcoin in the altcoin discussion or probably one can post a related topic over there it won't be moved and can also be discussed at the beginners & helps sections without moving.

Logically, it makes no sense to classify a post that clearly talks about Bitcoin, as a topic about alternative currencies, simply because it talks about ETH or any other currency.

In fact, there are certainly dozens (not to say hundreds) of topics in the Bitcoin tab, with references to altcoins. Because, depending on the context, information about altcoins may be relevant to the subject being discussed about Bitcoin.
