BCCI is looking for a new coach of all three formats since Rahul Dravid the current coach tenure will end in this June.
Well, that's not the best part Jay Shah said they might go back to their old IPL format prior to impact player rule since it is causing the place for all rounders and also he said impact rule allowed one extra player to be a part of playing XI so it might be decided after this IPL anyway I thought it's worth sharing these news.
Rahul Dravid can still reapply for the position but I don't think he will and after the World Cup Rohit might declare his retirement from white ball cricket. For now with way he has batted in IPL it would better for him to step down as a captain of the side. It would help him to gain the respect that he has been losing due to his bad strike rate in IPL and due to to his fitness. Impact player rule should be scrapped as it is making IPL less competitive. Champion league being scrapped because there isn't any month left in the year where they can schedule it.

If he is not facing that fatigue and is still fit enough then he should once again apply. What I think in this situation is that he will avoid going through that immense pressure and travel after being a head coach from 2021. The impact player rule should be scrapped as it has made IPL less engaging, and less competitive, absolutely batters heaven and it is not that useful. There have been many impact players who have been less impacted during the game.

Yesterday, I came accross a post by BCCI on X asking for application for the same post. I haven't heard or read anything on news media or in social media whether Rahul Dravid is going to apply for the same position. If he doesn't then someone from the Indian cricket veteran should apply. I am not interested to see another foreign coach whereas there are many retired star players who are available and better than those foreign legends.

I can be 100x more off-topic but this one is funny for a foreigner.

There are two big names being considered by the BCCI. The first being Stephen Fleming and the next name is Ricky ponting. Both of them are head coach of IPL teams. Rahul Dravid as for now is not interested and hasn't applied for the position. I feel he is done with the hectic life as a coach and wants to retire from it.

Among these two guys, Fleming might be the one who will get the position. He has been one of the most successful coach in IPL for CSK as under his coaching the team won 5 IPL trophies. There were news circulating that BCCI has already approached him for the position but CSK has denied those news. Whoever gets to be the coach if he is able get an OCC trophy then I and the fans would not have any problem.

Yes, you are right it will be Fleming as BCCI doesn't want an Australian to be in the head coach seat. Although they are good player but their loyalty is always questioned the reason being they will always support Australia than the team they are coaching. Greg Chapel once was the coach of the Indian team and he is known for all the internal rift that happened in that Indian side rather the winning records.

BCCI now approaches Gautam Gambhir! What is happening? Is it because of Mota Bhai and because of his connection with the ruling party? If he gets the job then a lot of senior players won't be happy. He has a bad reputation with Kohli which they both have denied publically but it is known to everyone following the Indian cricket.

I had an intuition about Gautam Gambir getting noticed as his PR agency has become very active. He might have left regular politics as he might have been informed about a vacancy he would like to participate in. I was expecting it and everything before like contacting Fleming and Pointing was meant to divert attention from the true objective of Amit Shah's son. They have already changed the jersey color and will now get a chief coach to govern the team. After the BCCI fiasco sometime back, it is evident that politicians still control the BCCI as they have now used the loop hole in the form of Jay Shah.

^ Too many things happening around with the selection of chief coach. We will know who BCCI will choose in the coming weeks. For now I am shocked to see the amazing comeback of RCB. They have found the lost form and their fielding has been exceptional. Back to back wins and Kohli has been terrific with his strike rate. CSK did not take the game seriously against RCB their bowlers were inconsistent and bowled too many lose balls. Batting was below their own average, Gaikwad got out for a duck on the first ball shows how much he was aware of the field placement.

Yup! We should wait and watch as to who gets that position rather speculating. Indeed RCB had the best U turn in terms of getting out of the IPL to being part of the playoff. I never expected.them to get back the way they did, it reminds me of CSK as they did the same in 2014. Some of the RCB women team were present yesterday when their men team was playing. A good motivation factor considering Smrit and Rodrigues cheering the men's squad.

The T20 World Cup starts from June 2nd. Which four teams do you guys think that will be in the semifinals. I somehow think that Australia, England, India and New Zealand are the teams that are likely to be in the semis. England are the defending champions and in the recently concluded bilateral series against Pakistan they played good. It looks to me that most of thier non form players got thier form back after IPL.

IPL form is irrelevant because different playing condition, so some of the players who did worst in IPL is going to explode in the bouncy condition. I wouldn't miss WI because they played some good cricket in the recent past and also home condition is an advantage for them. This time the point system is little bit different which I am not yet understand how, so if you knew please feel free to elaborate. My teams for semi-finals will be - Australia
- West Indies
- India
- England

I have my serious doubts about West Indies even though they are playing at home. They were on losing thier first game against PNG. I think the unthinkable Pakistan can be in the semifinals. They always do make a sudden U turn in ICC tournaments. Another good team is New Zealand they can be tough team to beat in T20.
