Help me I system reset my windows 10, and now my wallet dat is corrupted

I am using ravan coin, i system reset my computer.
i have 12 key phase, but i forgot my passphase extension! or was it the ordering?? idk, my passphase is screwed!

I have recovered my wallet.dat file using anyrecover software

sadly i think i may have corrupted it because i intalled ravan client, and launched it, which may have wrote on the same space as the old wallet dat

plz help me

i used py wallet and it gives error : Couldn't open wallet.dat/main try quitting bitcoin and running this again

First of all, i would recommend you to stop using your laptop/computer to prevent more file overwritten and create live USB (for example https://clonezilla.org/liveusb.php) to make raw copy of your HDD or SSD. After that, you can perform recovery based on that raw copy.

Although since you use Windows 10, have you checked whether Windows keep previous version of your wallet file? Check this guide if you don't know what i'm talking about, https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/79490-restore-previous-versions-files-folders-drives-windows-10-a.html.

oh dear I understand your that losing access to your passphrase can be stressful. I have not experienced such issue but i think taking the following steps will be helpful.

Before doing any more recovery first of make a backup of your current wallet.dat file to avoid accidental data loss.

checkout in the raven community https://ravencoin.org/community/ if anyone faces similar issue. Maybe someone solved same issue.

Review the configuration settings of Py Wallet. Try to update the wallet to to new one.

I used AnyRecover and still able to get my wallet.dat but when i try to run it, it says corrupted.

It's so unfortunate you have to find yourself in this tight mess losing ones asset is so painful only those that have had such experience will understand how it feels to be there at the moment. It is for the prevention of this stress and confusion you are into right now that we always lay emphasis on the best measures to secure and store our private keys. Like the infamous statement, "prevention is better than cure". There are many ways that things can go wrong running a crypto wallet on a computer, that's why I don't want to take the chances, there was a time that I had no choice but it was a painful experience, my PC kept getting different malware even when I was very careful.

The crazy part are those crypto coins that have no support on popular crypto wallet and I have to download their software and install all their blockchain data, one moment they work well and the other they have syncing problem, it was never a pleasant experience.

This is why I avoid any crypto project that's not available in other common crypto wallets like Trust wallet or Other multi-crypto wallet, trying to store keys can be much complicated, its better to get recovery seed off them and write it down somewhere instead.

Which pywallet do you use? If you used this one (https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet), there's no indication it support wallet created by Ravan client/software.

At this point, usually it's time to ask Ravan community or developer of Ravan client/software how to manually extract private keey/seed from corrupted file.
