Congratulations on getting a hold of the domain. I have just read this thread and following saw the chain on this thread which was referring to the previous owner. One thing I am extremely curious about is how are the new owners able to access old emails? This is something that is confusing to me. If a hosting plan expires, or if email servers are no longer active, can they be reinstated no matter how much time passes, even after the domain and hosting/servers expire/change? This is a new concept to me.

Anyhow - It looks like you have good intentions for the domain which I am pleased to see Smiley I look forward to seeing what you find share from your research and findings!

I will respond from satoshi@vistomail.com but I am not Satoshi Nakamoto.

How will this help you track Satoshi's identity? If we assume that there is still data for Satoshi, then most likely he encrypted the messages using PGP cryptographics and the IP addresses are to Tor servers.

Considering your previous behavior on this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5068888, please everyone be careful when dealing with this account, as this may be a scam.

The one who manages the domain, manages everything related to it, including emails. You only need to enter "your" mx records (mail servers and their IP addresses) in DNS zone, and all incoming mails will be redirected there. It is enough to create only one address on that domain, and it can pick up everything that arrives. This is most often done to collect email addresses where the senders made a typo.

Anyhow - It looks like you have good intentions for the domain which I am pleased to see Smiley I look forward to seeing what you find share from your research and findings!

He wants to download someone's e-mail. I'm not sure that reading someone's private correspondence is "good intentions". Although I don't believe that there will be anything spectacular, because the domain wouldn't be given up just like that.
He is also already talking about how he can send emails from supposedly Satoshi's address. Impersonating someone doesn't have good intentions either.

Yes, that makes sense for all future emails. However, the OP seems to be making claims that they are able to access past emails which as far as I know, is not possible just by adding MX records in the DNS zone, right?

Doing research on the past of Bitcoin and its founders is not near as bad as attempting to or creating a scam by using the history of the domain, as it seems others have done in the past. You are right, violating privacy is not a good intention per se, however the original "for research" intention in this unique case and protecting the domain from future bad actors is not the worst of intentions.

Yes, he needs to access the database, and even if he accesses the database, Satoshi may be sending messages encrypted and therefore he needs to decrypt them, so he needs to access the server, be lucky and find Satoshi’s messages and be very very lucky and find them unencrypted.

After this, this does not prove anything.
He deleted the topic so we can say he is a scammer.
