Thinking that more than 50% of people use Bitcoin, even if it's 50% of Internet users, is just not supported by any evidence. The Internet is used by over 5 billion people, so that would mean that Bitcoin must be used by at least 2.5 billion people, while it's clear that we aren't even near to 1 billion.
But as for promotion, there are some problems with that. Since many people focus on the investment side of Bitcoin, promotion of Bitcoin often feels to others like evidence that Bitcoin is a scam, a ponzi that its adopters promote because they need new members to join. But Bitcoin isn't like that, so it's important not to contribute to negative sentiments by overselling Bitcoin to those around us. I've lightly introduced perhaps up to 20 people to Bitcoin, by mentioning it when it seemed relevant. Some became active users, some forgot all about it, some are considering it. That's the way of things, and I think casually making people aware of Bitcoin is enough. I wouldn't go as far as Bitcoin-related merch, logos in social media profiles, etc. It's a personal risk, and it can also have a negative impact.

It's really scary, that's why I don't really open my activity about bitcoin to strangers, I personally only share about bitcoin (promoting) to people which are already know before. We must always be careful of our assets, especially if we live in a quiet place.
We just don't talk to strangers because you'll never know the intentions that they have and that might be the scary part of it when someone approaches you and that person caught you off guard. Don't be overwhelmed when a person asks you things that are important and you always need to be alert with it.

In my environment, Bitcoin no longer needs to be promoted, most people know what Bitcoin is. But on the other side, there are still many who are not interested yet in investing, maybe the price is too high or they don't have enough funds to own bitcoin.
The same for me but before, it was really different and how I was like talking to anyone that shows interest to Bitcoin but after realizing that I need to take care of myself as well and need to be observant at all times.

In conclusion
The promotion of Bitcoin should be strongly encouraged among Bitcoin community individuals. This would certainly help Bitcoin get to the grass root, both in rural and urban regions. These are clearly my opinion.
What do you guys think about Bitcoin promotion and other ways we can promote Bitcoin in our community?
I don't agree that the promotion of Bitcoin should be encouraged. Bitcoin has become very popular on a global scale.
Do you really believe that getting a few people into buying BTC can change anything? The BTC price won't get pumped, just because you convinced several newbies into buying BTC. Grin Do you expect someone to give you a medal for your service? Grin
There's no point promoting Bitcoin, unless you get financial incentive(in the form of commission for every referral), but Bitcoin isn't a product or a company. Be careful about telling people that you own Bitcoins. Some people with bad intentions might get in touch with you.
You don't look like an anti-Bitcoin to me, but it's strange on why your response are like that. If you HODL a BTC, or even if not but you are a pro-Bitcoin, you will want more people to know BTC and it does not matter if those people will buy a BTC and if it impacts the price of BTC or not. BTC may be popular now, but there are still people who didn't know it, this is why spreading the word BTC is still a must.

Promoting Bitcoins is usually done voluntarily but maybe some here in the forum expects something like a merit. They can also do what you said which to send their referral links so that they can get some incentives. It is possible on some crypto wallets, exchanges, etc.. that we use.

Just like what I am doing when explaining to those I know the difference between bitcoins and from Ponzi Scheme investment that has been circulating in our community for a while because they thought it was the way to invest in bitcoins but they don't know they were just being fooled and it's my role to explain it to them clearly in order for them not to get fooled by those people and thankfully most of them accepted my explanations and I was able to convince them enough to invest in bitcoins the right way and they are even now big investors bigger than me.  Grin Cheesy

In as much as it's good to encourage Bitcoin adoption, one should be more careful of what he or she spills out as a result of conversing about Bitcoin because we've heard of so many bad events that took place because of Bitcoin knowledge to the wrong people. Though Bitcoin from my perspective does not longer need too much advertisment because it has gain globe recognition already, even of one does not know about Bitcoin but at least most have heard of it one way or the other.

Our role is just to explain to the ones that are ready to know about Bitcoin, the real Bitcoin knowledge and differential Bitcoin from every misconceptions that has been built in their minds.

Social media is such a big platform or tool to influence other people. Things can spread quickly because of social media. Also the fact that both social media and Bitcoin is related to technology, socmed for me is still the best way of promoting Bitcoin. It's easier to give useful information to others and way more convenient as well.
Another way of spreading info about Bitcoin is through the word of mouth. You can start telling people you know about Bitcoin and your experiences with it. Since they personally know you, there's more trust compared to just random people promoting Bitcoin. Once you were able to convince your family or friends about Bitcoin, they can also do the same... But of course, you also need to be aware of where you'll be sharing such information. Some people may see it as an opportunity to take advantage of it, knowing you're into Bitcoin and you probably have them. You can raise awareness but don't forget about your security as well.

Social media is one of the fastest forms of sharing information, and of course, because of their curiosity, they make additional searches on this on the internet and with the help of the search engines we are using and even the chatbot gives a lot of details related into it, it's too hard to catch the attention of a person if they didn't too much interested in that thing even you keep introducing to them what are the ways to earn, etc. if they didn't really care so better to give your time who are willing to learn, its not your lost. By that sure you can gather together an information and share ideas to make both of you help each other.

We raise their curiosity by putting them in a situation where they will be force to ask what the BTC logo stands for.

For a newcomer with less activity than others, I'll say that you have developed very remarkable than many of us here, perhaps because of the effort you invested in crafting your post. I really appreciate that you took the time to create such a wonderful addition to this community.

However, you really have quite the scheme considering that the cryptocurrency space carries some risk that could affect people, particularly if they are overly curious and don't know where to get accurate information or if they rely on social media as a means of advertisement. We should also be aware that scammers can take advantage of our hard work and mislead those people by presenting a way to make money with cryptocurrency, which would cause them to fall. There is also additional risk associated with storing cryptocurrency and other information that might be difficult to come by.

It's true that a lot of adults and young people are interested in cryptocurrencies, but what keeps them from taking the plunge is that they lack the means to learn about it or even believe it would be too complicated. If we were to start enforcing or explaining to them the decentralization of bitcoin and their ownership of all assets, it might be a little too much for them to understand or accept because most of them are already accustomed to fait and find it to be much easier to use than bitcoin, and being your own boss comes with a lot of learning responsibilities, or would we continue to be of help to them untill they can stand, even so a better remedy to this would be to introduce them to this forum which I know for know is the only bitcoin friendly community wary of scam.

Regarding the second approach, in which you propose incorporating bitcoin into our way of life, I would much rather do so since only in this way can we actually draw people to it—without coercion—because they would genuinely love it by us.

In conclusion, I believe that if any of this strategy is put into practice, we should have a backup plan, a way to get them here, and some time for them to get used to it. They would likely start off acting very foolish, rarely receive much attention, and eventually leave for these reasons.
However, consider all options carefully before acting, as there may be unfavorable consequences.

I think that the best method, is to show it only to close friends and relatives, and when they realize after a few years, they will come back and ask. If you try to push bitcoin down their throats, they will not likely take the orange pill
