I know that many graduated students are unemployed and that, given the economic situation of the country, they are still in search for work in order to survive, but they have not yet found anyone. Many youths in Nigeria have been deceived by the statement "Las Las School Na Scam." We cannot judge ourselves just on the experiences of others who have graduated and are unemployed, thinking that our situation will be the same. Our faith is also different, and we cannot rely on the government because even with the certificate you still need to know someone before having a job, school is very important in case we come across a free opportunity and you don't have any papers. If you have the paper, you won't let it pass you by.

Many of my friends are regretting their actions, they always think that education is a scam, they would rather spend their money on something else than on education, they will even look up examples where many people have certificates without no job, all I know is their life. Now, what they are doing is regretting their decision from that past, they wish they had gone to school when they have the chance, it is already too late because, as we age, our brains change and Nigerian is not by secondarian again. i don't quite like this thought process about going to school and I feel that the major reason why most persons come out of school and become frustrated at life is because most of them have this kind of mindset that going to school is basically all about acquiring the paper certificate and then presenting it to gain employment. And this is the major reason why we have loads of first class graduate that can't even defend their certificate.

The certificate is a testament that certify that you have gained mastery at a certain subject matter and that you are fit to practice such in wherever you are required to do so. But the big question is whether you are certified to do so or not.

The main point I have always loved to point out about this whole schooling something and the lack of job issue is that their is first of all no where it was written in your admission letter that upon completion of your four or five year program, you would be given employment and so it's always wise that while going to school, you should always have it at the back of your mind that no one is employing your service and so you should think more of creating something for yourself after school.

Even if you are going to get employed, how much would they be able to pay you? The main reason why people as saying that school is scam is just that they except to be employed by others after leaving school and when that doesn't come, they term in scam.

Have you looked at those learning skill from other people for instance, after learning the said skill, do they end up being employed? I doubt, but as long as they have learnt the craft well, they are always satisfied with it and will never abuse their boss or the firm they learnt the skill from for any reason.

Let's tell ourselves the truth and go to this school, get the knowledge and look on how we can be useful to ourselves.

Even though I no de even reason all this government work again, I can't trade all the knowledge, experience and exposure in gathered in school for any 80k kind of job.

If you want to know if school is a scam or not, then I think the first thing to ask yourself is, would you have been able to join a forum like this and type averagely well in English if you hadn't gone through schooling?.

I know the main reason why people go to school is for them to graduate and get a job to take care of themselves, but currently in this country, getting a job is just kind of difficult, and some people who are successful are leaving their field of study to join other fields. That’s why most people do say school is a scam. But when you are educated, you also get exposed. One thing most people tend to overlook is the fact that school goes beyond just studying a course. School is a place where you meet different people from different places and different ideology about everything. It is also a place where people meet lifelong friends who are closer than brothers.

It is public knowledge that most times what you study isn't what serves as your source of livelihood so depending on government isn't exactly wise hence the need to study beyond your course.

OP, do you know that, if someone is going to apply for a job. Even if the job is a mini job, they do specify that the applicant should be a graduate and have completed NYSC. Now the world is going to the era, that if you do not have the least certificate, you will find it difficult to get a job even if it is working for someone. People know that the population of graduate without employment is high so they would rather choose a graduate for any positions and those who just finished SSSC will stand a lower chance to get opportunities.

The budget for travels or renovation of the Vice President's office or that for cars for senators is three times higher than that for education. I come in peace to this side of the Board. I like to be alone on a cases like this because what I think is always differ and different. When someone USED either in knowledge or in monetary dealing or others it becomes a scam. Now what is scam?
