Crime may seem more prevalent now than ever for lots of reasons. Unemployment & lack of opportunities may drive some people towards crime. Changes in societal values & norms as well as the breakdown of traditional community structures can contribute to the perception of increased crime. Crime rates can fluctuate over time & factors things like improved crime reporting & policing methods can also influence the perception of crime prevalence. The West has been inundated with uncontrolled flows of immigration too, this has increwsed crime obviously.

I agree with you, there are many crimes in the societies today that is making people not to have fear of the punishment that will fall on them in the future, but don't forget some of the things that is causing crime to the society and how government can stop people not to commit crime in the societies, the major thing that is making people to commit crime most in the society is poverty, and if government can boost the economy of the society, it will reduce crime in the society, secondly , government should make sure there are industries in the land where people will be working to earn what will help them to handle or feed their family well, and it will be difficult for people to think of commiting crimes in the society again.

Our social system is full of corruption. Corruption has spread like a cancer in developing and underdeveloped countries. Almost all people from high to low in the administrative field are corrupt. Everyone dreams of becoming rich through shortcuts. So one person tries to cheat another to rise to the top. These days, if you look at the newspapers, you only see crimes. Again, many criminals commit crimes but escape through the loopholes of the law due to the influence of their own party. As a result, they are not tried. Since they are not tried properly, others are not afraid to commit the same crimes.

Crime typically rises as people fall into hard economic times. While people with assets like homes and stocks might be celebrating valuations at all time highs, others that rent and don’t have passive income sources are finding life harder and harder to make it. As the layoffs grow, crime will in lockstep. Let us hope the Fed starts dropping rates sooner than later.
For a country like where the Op was making reference to, I don't think that the Feds dropping rate at anytime will make a significant difference from how situations are on the citizens with the economy. What should be foremost done is that a laid down legislation should be enacted to restrict couples from birthing more than a specific number of kids as a way to control population explosion so while cutting down rate it could be felt to a noticeable degree.
