What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies

I will use people within my location as a case study, the view of average citizen here is "Low" many of the average citizens here are still doubting the authenticity of crypto in general.
90% of people I have interact with have very limited knowledge about crypto hence their view is low. Till now, some people don't believe there are life changing opportunities in crypto both as an asset or a means of transacting business without any form of delay.

In my current work place, 99% of the staffs have little or no knowledge about cryptocurrency, Out of the 10% who are fully aware, only 5% i would say are actively involved, rest 5% are too scared to loss money because they are in doubt and not very trusting of the space. In my own opinion, the view of an average citizen in my location is low.

One thing I want you to understand bitcoin is meant for a digital market and it is not meant to compete with the traditional currency so but when people think that why bitcoin come into existence is because it's want to take over the existence of traditional currency which has been in existence for long period of time, so that is why many people seen Bitcoin like what is good because it has its own privacy and it owns security and the investing on it you are sure of your investment based on nobody monitors it for you except to you

The traditional fiat system have got many flaws and bitcoin with the blockchain technology made people understand well about value of money and people realised that we should have control over our money. As said the system is developed as an alternate and there is no talk of replacing the traditional fiat. The purpose for which bitcoin got innovated took a different turn when people started to prioritise it as a means of investment asset than currency.

Bitcoin was created with the intention of being an alternative to the traditional monetary system, but so far. I hardly see many people talking about using bitcoin as a currency anymore and instead we all consider bitcoin an asset just like gold. Therefore, I think bitcoin's purpose of replacing fiat is gone, in our eyes bitcoin is already an asset for speculation. People were happy when bitcoin ETFS was approved, meaning people have long considered it an asset rather than a fiat alternative.

Because all covered up by investment discussion since there's a lot of people thinking to earn profit for short term or even for long term that's why the discussion about its purpose has been erased out for a while. Maybe one factor affect is the adoption since they can't use it to buy something on physical store that's why this is the current flow of discussion for now.

But I believe once there's another more country will make it as their legal tender for sure the discussion regarding bitcoin as currency will be the flow of discussion. So right now its fine to see if people talk about their investment of bitcoin since many aim to get profit from it.

I can say the view of an average citizen concerning cryptocurrencies are mixed. To the optimists, they think any investment in cryptos is a shortcut to turning their poor status to affluence over night. To the pessimists, they think it's another scam waiting to happen. So the steer clear of it. While to the rest of us "shrewd" believers we think it's an investment that can go either way but should be handled with extreme carefulness to get the best out of it.

I first heard of Bitcoin around December of 2016 and I immediately took that decision to embrace it without dillydallying on it. Even at that I still feel a bit sad I didn't know earlier. I just can't imagine how those who knew of it in 2009/2010 but never took the risk to invest in it would feel. I would be beating myself dead if I were one of them.

Does Bitcoin currently have no value? Is this so? Somehow I seriously doubt this. Many countries freely accept it as payment for goods, services, etc. How do you like this? Working in finance as an advisor I think I've got a pretty good feel on how to answer this question as my clients are constantly asking me about bitcoin/cryptocurrency.  The "average" view of most is one that is uninformed. Most people really have no clue how bitcoin works, regardless of whether they own any or not.  I also find that it's almost 50/50 when it comes to those whom are willing to listen and understand about bitcoin, and the other half being ones that have no interested in even learning about it as the theory of how crypto money works goes against what they know money to be ( or at leas think they know ).

The SEC has approved bitcoin ETFs, so I think the chances of it becoming a currency are gone. Even El Salvador, the first country to legalize bitcoin as a legal currency, but its government focuses on investing in bitcoin rather than using it as an currency. After the news of the ETF being approved, the whole world knows Bitcoin as an asset, I really doubt whether any country will use it as a currency. Even on this forum, we no longer see anyone talking about bitcoin as a currency, but people only discuss investment and profits.

But if you ask about a normal and average person about Bitcoins, then they will only invest in any type of coins or cryptocurrencies when they see profit in it. If someone sets an example of making millions of money from Bitcoins in front of them, then they will invest in that in the hope of winning like that. I remember back then, about 8 years ago, people didn't really want to know about it. in fact, they just don't care how they will take advantage of the opportunity that comes with the cryptocurrencies. some took the opportunity and quickly adopted the idea that it could be used to save your assets in the form of digital currency and they even prepared for it by securing it in the best way possible they are those who we have seen in the videos living their lives to the fullest because they invested earlier than us and not only that, they invested with a huge amount of money due to their trust in bitcoins and its agenda.

There might be some differences in countries that feel more open towards digital payments and countries that love their cash and don't want to stop using it. Without these cultural differences I would say the view of the average citizen of a country on bitcoin all depends on the age. The younger a person is the more likely he is to be open towards new forms of money and payment. The older generations are so used to their way of life that it's hard to change their point if view and become favorable to something new. I can see that in my family very well, my cousin is still in university and loves crypto currencies. He doesn't have a lot of money and doesn't trade any cryptos himself, but I gave him a few coins and a wallet for his last birthday. Every time we see each other we talk about cryptos. Then there is my grandmother who is above 90 and has no clue about cryptos, she doesn't even use credit or debit cards. In the middle is my uncle that is interested but doesn't own any coins. I would say the average citizen is positive towards cryptos as long as they are below 70 years.
