The picture is viral and the netizens are tagging the administrator of PCSO the lotto governing body, but this is not something new to the lottery system in the Philippines has been questioned many times but so far they have maintained its reputation.

The netizens are quick to check for the flaws because we have a lot of coders and online designers who are betting in the lottery, it looks malicious but like what others have mentioned they intentionally edited it because they want to hide the identity of the winners. After all, it's different in the Philippines once people know you are a lotto winner people will envy you and you may even become a target of bad elements or the lotto ask that it be edited to protect his identity.

I don't think people will lose interest in betting in the lottery because of this issue, majority of the people believe the lotto ticket is their ticket to get out of poverty and change their destiny, people will eventually forget this and will still bet especially if the prize becomes huge.

It was personally confirmed by the General Manager of PCSO, Mel Robles, that the picture of the winning woman in the 6/42 draw with a prize of P43,882,361.60 in December 2023 has been edited.
Robles admitted that they changed or edited the entire appearance of the woman so that her neighbors wouldn't recognize her. Robles even apologized for their "poor editing."

Because of this, suspicions among netizens have grown stronger that the PCSO fabricated the winner in the said draw they posted.

Actually its important to know if its real or not but we don't have any capabilities to know the real situation happening there since they are very controversial regarding on each result shown.

The PCSO should fire the guy who edited that picture it's poorly done they could have put on a long robe and used the facemask and a brimmed hat so when they take a picture they don't need to do editing, this editing creates an impression that they are fooling people that there is a winner
It's good that the Senate opened this up to clear the suspicious of the betting public, I don't think they will lose their reputation people will continue, the temptation that one picture can change your future

Nice observations. It is definitely fake, lacking any merits. How can a winner of such huge amount be anonymous with no means of identification, not even the cheque is clear. Under normal climes, she is supposed to become an ambassador of the company, who will be available for advert and possibly part of their foundation. No reputable company will hand over a cheque of this amount to someone on mask. In my country, there is a certain amount you will win in some local casinos that you will be invited to their head office, offered the cheque and a car in front of cameras.

I'm yet to read anywhere that a winner of $800k in any casino is not known, so this is likely a cheap strategy by the company to deceive the public.

I don't think there is such requirement in lottery offices around the world so I don't understand the editing for privacy reasons. Lol don't get me started with the shenanigan they pulled off last year too where the winning numbers drawn were 3-6-9-12-15-18 and somehow cause a lot of our citizens here in the Philippines are so bought with the lies that the government kept telling them they all turned a blind eye about it.

It's worth noting that our state lottery has seen a massive upsurge in the number of winners with 1-3 players almost every week, a stark contrast to prior bets and raffles that sometimes take months to even land a winner. Not to mention our commander-in-chief being the literal son of the dirtiest politician in the history of the Philippines, who not only stole money but killed everyone who got in his way and declared Martial Law when the country's not buying anymore of his bullshit. So yeah I guess this is a case of the apple not falling far from the tree yet again. He only has a couple years in his term if I'm not mistaken, so it's not like he's going to stay for long in the seat at this point but at the same time we're still looking at a 4 more years of graft, corruption, and utter chaos in the government while the rest of the people in my country die of starvation and unemployment.

Yup, this was talked about for pretty long in our office earlier. Some were defending PCSO because they went ahead and did this to "defend" whoever won it, which is kind of reasonable I guess. But then again some argued that it was shady in the first place since there were winners, or multiple ones, almost every month. I don't really know how the math works here since I don't have the numbers to check but as an average joe I guess it's a reasonable suspicion.

Not to mention there are probably better ways to tell someone to hide their face instead of needing to edit it out. Well, it is the PH, Am not surprised with the amount of stuff going on in here in the first place.

that is what i was seeing in the picture. the skirt of the woman alone gave it away. if you look it from afar, you can see the difference. however, we really don't know their intentions here. maybe, to hide the identity of the real winner or just pure corruption is going on. either way, we don't have proofs of such doings. so yeah, just let it pass, and maybe in time the truth will come out.

Even a blind person could see that is an edited photo, why can't you figure it out? Even basic lotteries have many checks in place to prevent this kind of insider corruption and it's very easy to prevent. I personally don't have a problem with lottery winners covering their faces, but then again they should not be required to be publicly exposed in any form of media if they choose to stay anonymous. It's dumb to change the background however and surely if the lottery has been operating for a long enough time, they should have a room setup with white walls as a setting for such photos. Is it a requirement of entry into this lottery that an entrant must appear in photos if they win?

This is really an edited image even if you zoom it out, those lines are way obvious even an experts would agree that it is. It was known that PCSO has lot of corrupt employees and I don't think that they'll be discouraged for this maybe they even steal more money than this one considering there has been lot of controversy before that even involved huge sum of money.

Does this doubt come from those who have not yet won? I do understand how people feel about this. Indeed, that problem exists, but for a system full of greed, they can still operate without any hesitation. But I also know people who win a lot of money, and not everyone wants to hide their identity. But in some local cases that I know of, they are all low-income people and luckily, it came to them, the amount of money was too large to help them change their lives (usually worth over $5 million). So I don't want to equate all cases, because no matter what countries there are, there will be good/bad people, so whoever wants to doubt should continue to doubt. Whoever wants to trust should continue to believe.

Everyday there's a big winner of the jackpot while years ago, this never happened before.
There's a lot of corruption going on here, and our government agency should initiate an investigation here not unless they are also part of this scheme. This is not acceptable at all and imagine, exposing the winners with their edited photo. The lottery system is another way for a corrupt government to spend the public money for their own interest, this should be stopped or else our country will suffer big time.
