Yes, Remitano is legit. But my experience with the exchange for centralized P2P is not good. CBN has unban bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and other payment options would be available by now on the exchange.

To trade future and perpetual trading, you will need other exchanges like Binance, OKX, Kucoin etc. Also that Remitano has just few coins, unlike those mentioned that has as many as possible coins and tokens.

Remitano has been here for long and for a local exchange it has quite been good over others, but the statement of been safe is something I don’t understand because if it is about storing coins then it is never safe just like any other exchange out their including the biggest ones like binance and KuCoin. As for P2P then it’s mixed because some traders are actually slow and it depends on the how exchanges handle that and I have seen complaints in this Remitano though about that. But overall they are not a scam exchange but that doesn’t warrant storing coins there though

It depends on how you define the legitimacy. If you are just looking at just an exchange, yes it's legit but if you are looking at peer to peer exchange then no, it's not a legitimate peer to peer exchange. It's custodial and centralized, which means they can hold/block your funds at any time and ask for KYC.

Why not try out others that don't request for KYC like HodlHodl, Agoradesk etc.
