I often see chess gambling in the streets, played by some elders. Bets aren't that much and I guess those are just to add more thrill to the game itself and not primarily to promote or intensify the competition unlike with other sports such as billards (not offered by majority of the sports provider), basketball, and football matches.
This is what I was thinking too when I was writing about this post, if it can be done on the streets then it can be done online right but then I see the concerns about cheating in chess using AI, I don't think that it's going to be a problem though as there are AI detection systems out there to determine if someone's cheating and I don't think that if anyone out there would do this, they would definitely have a way to implement this so hopefully we get to see this in the future.

Yeah, it's only on street level for chess when we see a P2P and it was the norm in our country as well. But online I was not aware of any P2P match and as you have said, there could be abuse like using AI.

And if I'm not mistaken, there's even a grand master that has been accused of cheating as well.

So there's a bit of controversial right now in the chess world that has not been usually talk about in this community.

Have you thought about the patronage, the level of engagement of participants building interest in chess game, it is rare to see casinos develop interest in building a game that wouldn't bring them profit due to how unpopular the game is to many gamblers and even ordinary persons in the real world.

Take my community for an example I hardly see young guys playing chess game in the streets how much more will they want to take it into a competitive height when even the interest for fun doesn't exist. It mainly elderly people with prestige that I see often playing chess, and do you think those calibre of men will want to take it to a gambling level in a competition? I doubt it will be possible in the future soon.
