I noticed that while some use their mobile phones for publishing in the forum others use their desktop. Many started with mobile phones and when the hustle began to pay they switched to desktop. I must say. If a debate is thrown to the forum some will stand for phone while others will chose to work with their desktop. The both has prons and cons in their various ways but then let's highlight some of the good and bad.
The pro and cons of mobile phone and computer.
1. Portability: bitcointalk can be done anywhere any time with the mobile phone which will be difficult to do that with a computer.
2. Affordability: I believe it is cheaper to get a mobile phone than a computer
3. Power usage: most time the desktop is being used while plugged to the wall socket while the phone has an extended battery life.
4. Data subscription: it is easy to subscribe the phone than the laptop since the laptop will be consuming more data.
 5.Typing ease. It is easy to type comfortably with the laptop than the phone( 2 fingers compared  against 10 fingers)
 6.Comfort : it is comfortable to work with the laptop as any posture can be suitable depending on your platform whereas sitting in our position for a longer period causes discomfort.

 From my own view, I still chose to work with my mobile phone than the computer. What do you think?

We all have gadgets we are much used to when navigating through the forum. There are those who can access the forum and do everything they need to do with just their mobile device, and there are also those who find it difficult to make use of their mobile device to do all their work on the forum.
 
When it comes to quoting multiple things, some kind of quoting and list-making can't be done properly without mistake if you are using a mobile device, and there are some common mistakes that are mostly done by using a mobile device to browse through the forum, like mistakenly clicking on ignore without even noticing it and all of that.
 
Those who are community and campaign managers can't also use their mobile phones alone to work through the forum because that will be double the stress for them.

Mobile phones are not really suited for things like forum websites. Although that being said, I do use my mobile phone to check new replies made to my posts. I use the telegram bot "Bitcointalk Super Notifier v2" - Everytime somebody mentions your username, a notification pops up in a on telegram. It's neat.

It actually depends on the preference of the user. I personally do not use Bitcointalk on Mobile/Phone. I prefer it to use on my PC. IDK I just like reading and typing on my keyboard on a forum and for phone, I prefer using Instant Messaging apps. It also depends on the requirement as a user. If I am a campaign manager and I have to share something important, I would definitely use a phone if needed.

I agree with this I use both of it, I use desktop when I am at home and want to open multiple tabs on my browser, and use my phone when I am outside or laying at my bed.
For me it doesn't really matter what you use to access it.

First things first, this thread doesn't belong to this section because as far as I understand, it is not discussing Bitcoin but it's about the forum and this section is only for topics related to discussions about Bitcoin.

That being said, I would say that using a desktop or a laptop is probably the most preferred way of using the forum mostly because the forum website isn't compatible with mobile phones and you will be surfing using the desktop layout even on your mobile phone which isn't convenient. So when you are surfing, you will need to zoom in and zoom out every single time for any operation, either reading, writing, or doing anything else.

So, for me, I've always used the forum on my laptop because it's way more convenient. I don't need portability because I'm not always active in the forum, and when I have time, I just sit with my laptop and surf the forum.

Personally, i don't like at all the responsive (mobile) version of the forum. The text is too small from my point of view.

But you have some good points there, and i know there is a big percentage of users that love to post from a phone, but i got the feeling that this software was made to be used from PC. Maybe the new version of the forum will be more mobile friendly, not sure, we will have to wait for it to see.

It depends on individual members preferences, inasmuch as their message is passed across and it's not against the forum's rules, again it also depends on the kind of job that a members has, if your job allows you to sit in one place, then you have the option of a computer, if not, then it must be a mobile phone for the member. I personally prefer mobile phone fo my forum discussions because most times I always move around from one place to another, and it's more convenient for me to use the mobile phone that I can carry around in my trouser pocket, it wouldn't have been easy for me to be in this forum if it were where desktops and laptops alone.

One fact that I like that you highlighted unknowingly is that, Bitcointalk forum is very optimal and functions efficiently both on an Android browser as well as on a desktop computer browser.

If the screen is small, I change the orientation of my screen, and hold my phone horizontally to improve my view and make bigger my keypad to type well. Mobile phone will be better for you if you can decide to log on to the forum at any time at home, in the office or business environment, or while on the road. You can easily access the forum and make replies to topics you see. It will be hard and almost not possible to use your laptop every place, but you can do it with a mobile phone.

There are probably some people on this forum who can't afford computer so they don't have any other option other than keep wiritng on their mobile phones. As for me, I write maybe ~10% of the posts from my mobile phone and those are usually short replies like this one, when I am chilling on the couch and/or I am too bored to move to my desktp setup or when I am away from my laptop for longer period fo time, which doesn't happen often.

It is never a problem to access forums using a computer or a mobile device, it just depends on which one you are more comfortable with. I used a mobile phone to access the forum, but I still prefer to use a laptop instead of a phone not for the reasons you stated but because a computer allows for the display of many features on a user profile that are not available on a mobile device. Features like the archive button, which is displayed on the right side of each post and allows you to view modified posts.
Also, on computers, more information is displayed on a user profile, such as merit in the last 120 days, which is not visible on mobile phone users.
Basically, using a computer to access the forum has more advantages than using a mobile phone because things are much easier with computers.

In the past, I used to post things more often using my cell phone than my laptop, but in recent years, I tend to be more comfortable make post on my laptop. Sometimes I use both for certain needs, for example just reading on my smartphone or replying to someone's PM, but make post with my laptop.

I agree this is a matter of user preference and of course we are all never the same. The forum can be accessed by both and regarding convenience, it really depends on each user.

Desktop computers or laptops are not with us every time specially when we are traveling. Mobile phone gives us luxury to use bitcointalk.org whenever we want. Bitcointalk.org has been developed long ago and unfortunately we don't have its mobile app till now, so we have to use it like the way you have explained.
If theymos can roll out mobile app of bitcointalk.org then it will benefit lots of users who don't have computers due to some reasons and have to use this forum on mobile.

For me, it don't really matter if I'm on my phone or laptop.  They both got their pros and cons.  I like using my phone when I'm out and about to check emails or news or whatever.  Its nice and convenient.  But if I really gotta get some work done or write something longer, I'm definitely pulling out my laptop and  the bigger screen and keyboard makes a difference compared to typing on that tiny phone screen. 

I know some folks who try to do everything - work, emails even writing - on their phone.  And hey, more power to 'em I guess.  But for me personally, I just can't handle serious stuff on my phone.  Its too cramped and slow and autocorrect drives me nuts.  I end up making more mistakes than I fix.  So mobile is nice for minor things, but when it's time to get real work done I still need my trusty laptop.

In a nutshell, what @Rruchi man said is a perfect answer to all that the OP said, in my opinion.

Preference is what is mostly considered during the use of gadgets and electronics. Some people like the portability of mobile phones and their mobility, which makes them easy to carry along with you. While some people too always prefer to use a laptop, despite the fact that you need a backpack to carry your laptop, people still consider it a very easy mobile device.

I had a laptop that got bad last year, and I have not fixed it or gotten a new one since then. But despite having that laptop, I prefer all my online activities to be done on my mobile phone, except for those that really require the use of a laptop.

It doesn't matter though, I use bitcointaltk on both my Mobile phone and on my PC, I basically use it on PC when I'm at home, whereas I use it on my Mobile phone when I'm out because of the ease of carrying phone around unlike my PC, whichever way that suits you better for you because it actually a matter of preference so far, there is no law or restriction to which one to use, But from my end I prefer using it on Mobile phone to PC.

Maybe they have bad eyesight and they would have to put their phones near their faces just to read something then laptop would be a much better idea for them

You are actually correct because it provide compatibility for user to make post any where with confident. or having a second thought. Could you out believe that my wife was ill and I took her to the hospital and even as I was there I was still making post in the forum, with my phone. And I was not worried for not coming with my laptop.

A forum isn't a working environment, it is a forum where people debate, discuss, and share information related to cryptocurrency. I use mobile too but mostly to read but when I want to comment I always prefer the physical keyboard because small screen has its own limitations which is a big thing when we are talking about typing.

If you can afford both phone and laptop is okay so that if you are not in your home you can make use of your phone to log in to the forum then you can use your laptop while at home. Using the laptop more oftenly is preferable because the LCD screen is less hash to the eyes whereas when using phones the light from the screen can really affect one's sight and vision though to me using the phone is more preferable as not every one can handle the keyboard of a computer very fast as compared when handling with mobile devices.

There seems to be the most important medium is mobile phones for people. We may be able to work on a computer or laptop very easily using ten fingers but we cannot take the computer or laptop wherever we want. But we can carry and use mobile phones whenever we want wherever we want. In all what you have explained I have just come to conclusion that you are used to mobile device than laptop. Because your advantages of mobile device is more than laptop. For me I like laptop in terms of typing than Mobile phone, just that I don't have laptop at the moment that's why I chose Mobile phone over laptop. And secondly mobile phone is more durable than laptop in terms of battery capacity. Highest time you can spend on laptop is 5 to 6 hours, but in Mobile phone you will spend 12 to 15 hours if fully charged. So each of them are important but depends on the one that is easy and affordable for you.

In my opinion, the medium used for forum discussion depends on the ability and comfort of the person using it. Suppose you have both a computer and a mobile phone in this case you can move either way. I have only my phone but can't afford to buy a computer then I will continue the forum discussion through mobile phone only. And if one has a computer and a mobile phone, he can use both in combination, he must have a sense of comfort. Now coming to data, whoever will be using a computer must have a Wi-Fi connection, so I don't see any logical reason to feel comfortable using a computer or mobile for data. But anyway, in my case computer is a good medium for forum discussion.

I use both , PC when I am in Home and office browsing forum and posting from here and there , but I also uses my Ipad when in out door together with my Phone that also handy and can give me comfort using when Bus or trains .
