The truth is there is no main objective of Acquiring bitcoin, everyone has their reason for getting bitcoin since people have different views of Bitcoin while the most common : as a store of value and a means of financial freedom.

HODLing bitcoin, doesn't means we have to buy and wait for the next ATH before we sell, it's the HODLing plans that matters, some bitcoin investors have been Hodling bitcoin even before the previous ATH and didn't sell some or or of their bitcoin after the ATH because they have a objectives which they set when acquiring and HODLing bitcoin.

The main reason depends on you. Just as you've said, it's for every possible reason that you've mentioned. You can have it as an investment or asset and sell it during the ATHs or whenever you feel that you want to and you're in profit. That's all that matters for someone who's acquiring Bitcoins. But the majority of us are accumulating because of the hopes that we'll sell in profit and that's going to help us do the things we're planning ever since we've invested on it. No one will stop you if your reason is for profit or if you're going to use it for exchanging and buying things online and using it as a payment method or currency.

Well for starters, BTC has a significant value converted to cash. Due to its value on the market, people view mainly as an investment mechanism that can be taken advantage of due to its high volatility.

I wonder if these are the same people who buy Bitcoin and then store it on centralized crypto exchanges? What is the difference between having fiat in the bank and BTC on CEX? The difference is that in case of CEX hacking, you can lose everything you store there and you are under constant risk of phishing and clipboard malware - but you have a chance to profit from every positive price change.

When you keep fiat in your bank account, you are still insured (at least in most western countries), so hacking is not a danger, but given the low interest rates, inflation erodes the value of that money.

The answer should be to get profits and thats what makes people go into Bitcoin purchase because of the high probability of people getting profits. For example, I bought Bitcoin at $40k last year and I target to take profits when it grows 100%. It means when the Bitcoin price reaches $80k, I will automatically sell my Bitcoin and take profits. I don't care whether Bitcoin to reach $100k, $150k, or more. When it fits with my target, I will secure the profits.

Well holding or selling off your Bitcoin is totally the individual decision because I believe that each and everyone has his or her motive of investing on Bitcoin, so if you feel that holding is the best strategy then better, in otherwise if buying and selling to get quick profit is also best for you then is okay, but for me I use to be emotional if something is not going towards my expected points so perhaps holding will be the best strategy for me so that I will remove my mind from being curious about the price movement also I realize that holding doesn't involve too much risk unlike trading.

To know the sole purpose of earning bitcoins you must continue to invest using the DCA method and hold it for a long time. It is very simple. The essence of buying bitcoin and holding is to keep it as a great store of value because as time goes on so is Bitcoin gaining in price due to volatility. It is another way of keeping your assets from local banks. Because if you put your fund in the bank, there is no possibility for greater return. Instead inflation will eat it up. Holding bitcoin for long does not mean that you will HODL forever or wait for it to attain ATH before selling or buying back when it is dip. Thou It depends on people, because people have there opinions and thoughts on how they do there investment. It would surely just gonna depend on the reason of the holder but there are sure many different reasons behind it, but I would probably say that a high percentage of those people are doing it for profit or money.

I mean there are people that doesnt have any plans on selling their Bitcoin until they die which is almost similar to religion at some point, maybe like Bitcoin believers, but if they dont want to take profit from it, that just means that they dont want the money on it, probably status, standards, etc. Since having or holding a huge amount of Bitcoin could be a title probably.

I have some friends who don't have any plan on selling their Bitcoin investment just because they are going to use it as an inheritance for their kids or something like that which I think is going to make more sense.

Personally, I'm holding Bitcoin just as an investment to make a profit, so I keep on accumulating Bitcoin, probably going to sell if there is a good opportunity in the market, after selling and making a huge profit from it, just going to repeat that cycle again probably buyback when the market is down again to create more and more profit on it. We all have different reasons and mine isn't just about getting rich like most people, here is a good example of why I choose Bitcoin over everything else.

A million dollars today won't be worth the same in 10 years, $1Milion right now will be $1 Million in 10/years but not the same value, only the numbers won't change but the value will be way smaller, that is the curse of inflation on Fiat currencies.

The core idea of bitcoin was to buy things online as P2p but that has been forgotten to investment of bitcoin which buying and selling of it. If bitcoin was really used as it was planned then many countries inflation has been under control. Bitcoin gives me the privacy that I needed all along, not sending funds without any trace though, but no one really knows which Bitcoin address belongs to me and how much I have in the address.

Finally, it is the only solution to beat inflation.

I have also thought about my retirement, how it will look like, and how easy or hard it could get but when Bitcoin comes it feels more doable, I keep accumulating Bitcoin and hold for the long term, and I will become richer than before because the Bitcoin will appreciate more in value.

The only thing that I can't use Bitcoin to do now is payment solutions, not many stores are accepting Bitcoin, it is only some VPN services and tech stores online that accept Bitcoin, thats It, the day-to-day payment option is off the book since we can't spend it locally like money.
