I don't think there's any good addictions when it involves gambling, if you're not gambling in a coordinated manner, you would be gambling in a bad way that it wouldn't be good for you. Gambling addiction will destroy your confidence and it can cause you to become indebted because you didn't budget yourself well while gambling. Gambling addiction will not only make you to be losing money but also makes you to lose other things that are important to you. The worst mistake a gambler can make is to allow gambling addiction to take control of him because that'll be the end of his winnings days. You can't be losing and be happy so gambling addiction also destroys your happiness.

It is very unlikely that there is a good impact from gambling addiction, in fact I don't think there is a good impact from gambling addiction except that there is a good side to gambling, such as opening up jobs for people who are experts in their field. with those who are addicted to gambling, there is nothing profitable even if they win, it is not a real profit if they still cannot control themselves with the winnings they have obtained. Moreover, by gambling with the wrong mindset, usually those who gamble like that will only make mistakes in deciding what to do.

I think there are different level of addiction which we need to know and be aware about. There are less serious addictions which can not have serious effect on gamblers and the way they bets. There are also bad addiction that can make us to keep gambling without thinking about losses and the potential of us losing big from gambling. I agree with you, that it all comes down to the players how they compose it, whether by playing or enjoying the game. Lossing funds, bankruptcy, auctioning valuable things, taking loans and such common facts are already enough to make a gambler life turn into hell. and rest of points you mentioned, will make his life worse than imagination including his family too. No doubt that gambling addiction can gives us more dangerous to our lives because we will lose our money and can be effect to other things in our life. Losing our money will be the first thing that we will feels and if we don't realizes about the lose, we will not care about that and still playing gambling. Yes, losing a job has a very serious impact on life. I see that gambling addiction also causes a very important thing, which is to exhaust the economy of the individual and the family, causing conflicts and breaking up family happiness when the family's economic situation becomes increasingly poor. I think most gamblers think that by gambling they can get money and can make gambling as one of their sources of income. I rarely see gamblers who are wise in managing their finances. This can happen because I think most gamblers are poor people who want more money. And some others are greedy and not satisfied with just double multiplier wins. This is why time and emotion management are very important. Most people or friends I know are gamblers who think that gambling can give them instant money.

I think in order to be an addiction it would have to cause negative effects beyond just losing money as that is to be expected if you aren’t bad at math.

I would agree though that gambling has many potential negative side effects if you abuse it. This is why I always say to consider gambling like paying for entertainment. If you win money, that’s a side perk. It shouldn’t be the only goal or you will be disappointed more than satisfied.

When gambling becomes an addiction it affects more than just your finances,  you are definitely right on this, the negative effects supercceed more than just money, it can also affect your relationship and your career. I know someone that lost two jobs due to gambling addiction, he used the money paid into the company by clients to gamble with the hope of doubling and paying back but it didn't work out..I know someone else that went through 8 divorce as a result of gambling. This might be that having that less focus or having that less attention but this is something a problem that wont really be avoided or could possibly that  comes out
when it comes to the moment that you are on too much stress because of gambling. We do know on how our mind works and on the time that we do become that
emotional then this is will really be that affecting our body too. We might really be just that neglecting it but we do know that once this one started then it would really be

A way to prevent children from doing these things is to give them less money in their hands evn give them only what they need to spend, then they won't have money to gamble. In fact, you should schedule a separate time for gambling so that you don't have any problems at work. Violence on the other hand i would gamble to keep it secret and keep all wins and losses confined to myself.

In a country like mine where casinos are advertised in every print media and sign post including TV programs, telling children that what they see in TV being advertised is bad may not sit well with them. Indeed gambling is a big minus to your finance it's worse than any other form of loss in our finances because, gambling addiction is like a virus in our financial life, it will keep eating your money until there is no immune part left. Let's even remove the necessary, gambling was a never a quick rich scheme. And people underestimate the psychological impact losing livelihood can have on people, to be honest, specially in these challenging  times when social inequality and lack of opportunities seem to be around every corner...
That is why I have never personally introduced people I know face-to-gace to gambling, as I don't truly know the psychological state they could be going through and the impact gambling could have on their life. The dilemma these days is that children can try what they want to do without the permission of their parents. As they have their own gadgets, they will surely encounter these gambling sites at one point. So even if we say, we want to say this activity is bad, they will for sure try it.
