Because I was sick, my pushup system slowed down a bit. I couldn't do my earlier push ups due to physical weakness but today I am fully recovered and able to push up a bit more than before. Today's morale was very strong so I was able to give more pushups.

This is one of my concerns. Luckily I haven’t had any sickness or flu symptoms since starting this challenge. I guess if it isn’t a bad cold it isn’t an issue, but a severe flu could be enough to end the 100 push-up streak. Hopefully we hit $100K before winter hits or we might start seeing streaks ending left and right.

Personally I didn't get sick from doing pushups but I got sick from the weather in my country. In my country there is a lot of dust in the streets and get cold fever. I can't move without a mask. If I go outside without a mask, I get feel cold because of the dust. I always use a mask when I go out. But 2-1 days ago I went out without a mask and suddenly got cold and fever, so I felt a little weak. Although my body is weak, I hvn't given up pushups, but now am completely healthy. Pushup is improving day by day and I think we can reach our milestone before winter starts.

I didn’t mean to make it seem like it was push-ups that made you sick. If anything, I’m sure they probably strengthen your body and immune system to be able to better handle the sickness.

I'm not sure if the scraper will scan multiple entries in the same post so I will add last night's below...

I think that DirtyKeyboard's script just takes the entry with the highest date, yet it does not allow a date in the future, and if your report does not have a date, then it uses the date that it was posted as its date (using UTC time).

As I said before, some guys here are really doing an amazing job with an average of well over 200 per day. You guys should be able to note some differences in your triceps and breast muscles. JayJuanGee with ~50,000 and Gallar with ~41,000, that's quite some effort put into this challenge. What are your maximum sets looking like? Are you ging for muscle failure at times or usually for a pre-set number of push-ups that you know you can handle very well?
For me, I think that the last month and a half or so, I have been shooting for at least 50 per set and 5 sets per day... and so I am considering that to be a maintenance so that I can increase the number of sets and perhaps be able to do the 1,000 pushups in a day challenge.. around the time that BTC prices reach $100k - that is if I still want to try to do that or if I might give up upon that particular idea... I did have a few higher set days to be able to see whether I might be able to do more sets in a day, perhaps more than 20 sets in a day, and I had a few days that in training I was able to get up to 15 sets in a day. .which seems to wear me out quite a bit for that day and for the next day.

At first I thought that the most pushups that I would want to or be able to do in a day would be in the ballpark of 500, yet after I did a few training sessions, I did see that 1,000 in a day could be in reach for me, yet I probably would need to spread my sets out about every 30-40 minutes and just do them all day long until I get to 20-ish sets or maybe more and/or get to 1,000 pushups within a day (or within 24 hours.. but most likely I am thinking that the way that I have been doing it, I would be able to accomplish 20-25 sets within 16 hours between the first set and the last set of the day...so that is averaging between 40-50 pushups per set and then to see how I am feeling by the time I cross over 1,000 and figure out if I want to do any more sets for that day or not.. That is if we get to such a day of my attempting such a bonus challenge (that might even be outside of the scope of what we are trying to do in this thread).
That's far more than the average male can do and it takes quite some stamina to stay on track with those numbers, well done!

I am surely no very athletic, especially after getting older it has gotten worse. Another thing is that I do not have very many exercises outside of pushups, except maybe going for a walk or some projects that I might have and of course, sex is a kind of exercise, but the sex is in spurts.. sometimes not wanting to get into too many personal details.

1,000 is obviously at least twice as impressive as 500 (probably a little more as it is a question of endurance as well) and thinking about the fact that that would sum up to 365,000 push-ups a year, I am sure people to understand how that would set someone apart from those doing nothing for their bodies.

Yeah, but it has taken 227 days to work up to such abilities, although the first time that I did more than 500 pushups in a day was on July 22, which would have been my 169th day, and I had earlier mentioned my theory that if any of us is able to get a maintenance level of endurance, then we can usually double that in terms of doing a spurt.. so if I was around 500 pushups per day in my maintenance days, then I could do a spurt of 1,000 in a day, yet I consider the days that I did around 500 pushups in a day to be more in line with spurt days rather than maintenance, and so far I  have ONLY had around 10 spurt days which have so far all been more than 400 pushups in a day.. and so yeah, the more that I do the spurt days, then the more that the spurt day quantities will transition into a kind of maintenance level (since the spurt days will become easier to accomplish.. that is as long as I continue to push myself in those kinds of ways. .which remains both physically and psychologically challenging to keep up).   So your example of 365k pushups in a year is far from even close to my level.. even though it could be that I might reach an average of 240 pushups per day by the end of my first year.. which would be in the ballpark of 87,600 pushups for the year.. I am not sure if that might happen or not.. I started on February 5, so my one year is based on that start date, and I am not even sure if I can keep up my same pace for the remainder of my year.  I did spend about 1 month slowing down my pushups and so not doing as many pushups per day, yet that did not seem to help in terms of my abilities to retain my pushups abilities and/or pushups stamina.

And to provide you with some motivational insights to ensure that you keep going and don't give up when BTC reaches $100k, hopefully not seducing you into drinking Piña Colada instead of doing push-ups all day long, here is an excerpt from a research study:

I do appreciate seeing a study that involves linking pushup capacity to cardiovascular incidents, yet I am not sure exactly what that study is telling us in regards to regularly doing pushups and/or about special cohorts that might not fit so well into a fire fighter demographics (physically active worker, yet with an median age of 39).  

The study was not measuring regularly doing pushups, yet it was measuring how many pushups that the study participants were able to do at the beginning of the study and then to see what happened to the firefighters in the next 10 years in regards to their cardiovascular incidents... so the ones who were able to do more than 40 pushups had much better results in regards to cardiovascular incidents as compared with those who were not able to do 10 pushups... but still that may or may not explain whether they were regularly in the practice of doing pushups and/or if they were just otherwise in good shape in terms of being able to do more than 40 pushups or whatever might have been their pushup quantity that they were able to do at the beginning of their participation in the study.

Another interesting point is that they said that they measured at a tome of 80 beats per 60 seconds, so I was thinking that means that the pushup would have to be 1.2 seconds each, which surely would be a pretty slow rate of doing pushups, unless it is the opposite, which would mean 80 pushups in a minute, whch would be a fast rate of doing pushups.. that would be the ability to do 40 pushups in 30 seconds, which is slightly faster than even my fastest of pushups.

Hope that's more tempting than spending BTC millions on being served Piña Colada while lying in a Hammock in the Caribbeans! Tongue  (side note: I believe to know you are not that kind of guy anyway Wink )

I try to stay active, yet I can see the temptation of a lax lifestyle, and I do spend quite a few hours at the computer every day.. likely many times more than 4 hours even on the slower days... so yeah, sometimes the desktop warrior lifestyle might not be active enough.. and I have even had historical jobs that require quite a bit of computer time... so yeah, sometimes each of us has to figure out ways to stay active, even though sipping on Piña Coladas at the beach can surely seem tempting... .. yet even as we age we might lose more and more of our drive to want to be active, there likely continues to be quite a bit of value in trying to stay active when and where possible, even as each of us is aging.

Honestly, @Jay is really an instrument when it comes to doing pushups. We've been on the push ups together for some time now despite not starting the same time but i see from his input that his consistency + how much time spent on carrying out this challenge doesn't average a bit to what i do, now i feel like i am losing here, not a paid challenge though, but I'm becoming intrigued to hit a number or equal his all time high for a day. Wish i am getting some time of from jobs, having quite the time is also a necessary opportunity, after every sets taking a quick rest before going for another.

Since most of the time, I try to spread out my sets to being 5 sets per day, most of the days, the actual time doing pushups is about 5 minutes, maybe one minute per set.  However, there is a bit of preparation time and a bit of time writing them down and even writing posts about them in this thread.. .. so it does take a bit longer, yet we still should be able to do our pushups almost anywhere and it seems that when we get used to them, then maybe there does not even need to be very much prep or cool down or even some of the suffering from the soreness becomes less severe - even though frequently, I will try to push my pushups to a state of failure, so the first 80% or so of the pushups for each set might have some soreness and some creakiness, yet they tend to not really be very difficult to do, yet the last 20% and even maybe the last 5% to 10% start to become more and more of an effort- including that I get to points that I cannot even do one more pushup, even if I try.. so frequently on my very last pushup up that I am counting, I will tend to either purposefully do that last pushup extra slow or I will purposefully do one extra one (that I am not counting), and then I will do the second half of that last pushup (meaning on the way down) that goes really slow on the way down and kind of hold that second half of the pushup to take 1 or 2 seconds to finish it.. and really bringing myself to failure (if I might have enough strength to do that last one in an extra slow kind of a way).

I know that some guys want to get all of their pushups out of the way within a short period of the day, which I have no problem with the seeming practicality of that way of doing the pushups, yet for me, since I am trying to push for quantity, I tend to find that it is good for me to have 1-3 hours between sets, yet sometimes I will purposefully try to scrunch the pushups into a shorter period of time, such as 30-40 minutes between each set (especially on my longer days or my spurt days) as a kind of preparation for how I might need to be able to do them on the day when I might try to get 1,000 pushups in a day, then I will likely need to have 30-40 minutes between sets and to try to do at least 50 per set if I want to get all 1,000 pushups in 20 sets, yet if I am making progress in the day and not feeling too worn out, then I might be able to add some more sets in order to go above 1,000 ups for that day when it comes, which currently I am pretty confident that I am going to be able to do it, since I am less and less sore between my sets so that I have already seen that I can string together quite a few sets that have 50 plus pushups within each set and with ONLY about 40 minute breaks between the sets.  Don't get me wrong, I still am pretty worn out from the spurt days, yet I can see improvements in my own recovery time and also my not feeling as overwhelmingly sore from the whole endeavor.

It might not actually be a paid challenge, but there is no denying of the fact that the benefits from it is far more beneficial to our health. After all health is wealth. If we see this challenge as something that's benefitting us primarily, then we will always dedicte time to it, even if it's 10 minutes a day out of the 24 hrs we have in a day.

Thanks for your concern about my dizziness, it has been a concern for me because I always wonder if it's a sign of something more serious. About 10 years ago I used to be quite active in the gym and I never had any dizziness issues, I resumed rigorous exercise when I joined this energetic thread after more than 10 years. I spoke with my doctor friend on the phone about it yesterday and he advised me to increase carbohydrate foods in my meals. He said that I should let him know if I continue to feel the dizziness so I'm increasing my carb intake for now.

Your doctor is retarded.  Fuck carbs... There is no such thing as an essential carb, yet there are essential proteins and there are essential fats.

Today was extremely hard, sore back and chest from yesterday's run-up, even though I said yesterday I'll be doing 34*3 sets, I had to trim those down even further, and yet couldn't even complete 100. This is it for today,

That sounds better right now, I would like to follow this unless ample recovery times allows me to do better like I did yesterday. Literally low on confidence right now.

Personally, based on your description of what you did, I would suggest spreading your sets throughout the day, and so maybe try to start out with 15 pushups per set and try to do between 3-5 sets per day... and then each day try to figure out if you can increase your pushups per set or to just continue to stay with the number of pushups that you are doing each set.

If you do this every day, then you are likely to get stronger and more capable as long as you do not injure yourself or wear yourself out psychologically.  You should try to make your doing of pushups sufficiently easy so that you are not feeling too stressed about them, even though surely there is likely going to be some physical pain that you should be able to decrease with the passage of time as long as you continue to do the pushups and you do not injure yourself.  

It seems that part of the secret to getting better at pushups is staying in the game and doing such pushups regularly.. perhaps every day. maybe once in a while take a day off, even though I personally believe that if you perceive that you want to get better at doing pushups, then likely it is better to do pushups every day (perhaps reduce the quantities of pushups and/or sets on some days) rather than taking any days off..

Edit:    Here's my today's pushups report.  I purposefully targeted hitting the round number of 50,000 pushups for today, and I hope that the quantity of my total pushups within this challenge never reaches or meets the BTC price. hahahaha

I had to do a quickie look at my "Look and Layout preferences" within my profile, and the answer for me is: "No way, Jose."
That seems to be consensus.

I am not sure whether DailyKeyboard's script will pick up your pushup report when it is inside of code brackets.. but hey, what do I know?  Let's see if it get's included in today's table.

I'm not sure if the scraper will scan multiple entries in the same post so I will add last night's below...

I think that DirtyKeyboard's script just takes the entry with the highest date, yet it does not allow a date in the future, and if your report does not have a date, then it uses the date that it was posted as its date (using UTC time).

Personally I didn't get sick from doing pushups but I got sick from the weather in my country. In my country there is a lot of dust in the streets and get cold fever. I can't move without a mask. If I go outside without a mask, I get feel cold because of the dust. I always use a mask when I go out. But 2-1 days ago I went out without a mask and suddenly got cold and fever, so I felt a little weak. Although my body is weak, I hvn't given up pushups, but now am completely healthy. Pushup is improving day by day and I think we can reach our milestone before winter starts.
Thank God that you recovered quickly. Try slowly and you will soon be able to do 100 push ups a day.

Your date is not correct in your push-up report you wrote 14 instead of 19 i know that the Push-up date has been made optional so I think it would be better you skipped it than puting a wrong date because it will definitely show 14 on the push-up table so you can as well edit it so it can correspond with others.

Honestly, @Jay is really an instrument when it comes to doing pushups. We've been on the push ups together for some time now despite not starting the same time but i see from his input that his consistency + how much time spent on carrying out this challenge doesn't average a bit to what i do, now i feel like i am losing here, not a paid challenge though, but I'm becoming intrigued to hit a number or equal his all time high for a day. Wish i am getting some time of from jobs, having quite the time is also a necessary opportunity, after every sets taking a quick rest before going for another.

Since most of the time, I try to spread out my sets to being 5 sets per day, most of the days, the actual time doing pushups is about 5 minutes, maybe one minute per set.  However, there is a bit of preparation time and a bit of time writing them down and even writing posts about them in this thread.. .. so it does take a bit longer, yet we still should be able to do our pushups almost anywhere and it seems that when we get used to them, then maybe there does not even need to be very much prep or cool down or even some of the suffering from the soreness becomes less severe - even though frequently, I will try to push my pushups to a state of failure, so the first 80% or so of the pushups for each set might have some soreness and some creakiness, yet they tend to not really be very difficult to do, yet the last 20% and even maybe the last 5% to 10% start to become more and more of an effort- including that I get to points that I cannot even do one more pushup, even if I try.. so frequently on my very last pushup up that I am counting, I will tend to either purposefully do that last pushup extra slow or I will purposefully do one extra one (that I am not counting), and then I will do the second half of that last pushup (meaning on the way down) that goes really slow on the way down and kind of hold that second half of the pushup to take 1 or 2 seconds to finish it.. and really bringing myself to failure (if I might have enough strength to do that last one in an extra slow kind of a way).

I know that some guys want to get all of their pushups out of the way within a short period of the day, which I have no problem with the seeming practicality of that way of doing the pushups, yet for me, since I am trying to push for quantity, I tend to find that it is good for me to have 1-3 hours between sets, yet sometimes I will purposefully try to scrunch the pushups into a shorter period of time, such as 30-40 minutes between each set (especially on my longer days or my spurt days) as a kind of preparation for how I might need to be able to do them on the day when I might try to get 1,000 pushups in a day, then I will likely need to have 30-40 minutes between sets and to try to do at least 50 per set if I want to get all 1,000 pushups in 20 sets, yet if I am making progress in the day and not feeling too worn out, then I might be able to add some more sets in order to go above 1,000 ups for that day when it comes, which currently I am pretty confident that I am going to be able to do it, since I am less and less sore between my sets so that I have already seen that I can string together quite a few sets that have 50 plus pushups within each set and with ONLY about 40 minute breaks between the sets.  Don't get me wrong, I still am pretty worn out from the spurt days, yet I can see improvements in my own recovery time and also my not feeling as overwhelmingly sore from the whole endeavor.

Push ups can be done anywhere but there could be a criteria when it has to depend on time factors which may actually become the problem, place of job can also be an extra factors considering the excretion of sweats from the body which produces unpleasant smell to customers. I will be hoping on this to hit the max high, but to be done by weekends when having a lot of time to spare, which after get a nice bath and long sleep to fuel up for the next day.

I won't be in a hurry to get all done in a little time frame, no need going all in and not considering health state, i could probably kick off as early as breaking around AM, after hitting an average of what i can, take a long sleep till dawn before going for another, i think is a nice opinion to complete without breaking down just too early.

When I first started doing 5 sets per day (on my day 21 on February 25th), I was still very sore from pushups, and so I was tending to do around 30 per set and I would spread the pushups through the whole day in order to attempt to help me with my recovery time and perhaps lessen the likelihood that I would be overdoing it or contributing to some injury.. yet my ongoing soreness never really went away, and I slowly increased to around 50 per set over the next couple of months, yet by the time we got to June-ish, I decided to cut back on my pushups for a month or two and to attempt doing slower pushups and fewer pushups per set and even fewer pushups for a month or so and then to see how that played out.  I returned to doing 5 sets per day in mid-July, and have been doing 5 sets per day since then, frequently still trying to do 50 or more pushups per set, yet every once in a while I will vary my goals for the number of pushups that I want to do per set.

Even now, as I had mentioned, sometimes I will purposefully structure my pushup sets in shorter intervals, such as every 40 minutes in order to both test myself and also to sometimes get my pushup sets for the day out of the way in a shorter period of time so that I won't have to worry about doing pushups during other parts of the day, so there have been a few times in which i did all of my 5 sets for the day of around 50 pushups per set in less than 3.5 hours.  Most likely I would not have been able to do so many pushups in such a short period of time, in my earlier times.  I have seen improvement in the past few months too, such that I am able to do all of my pushup sets with relatively large quantities of pushups per set of 50 pushups or so per set, in a relatively short period of time.  Maybe at some point I could shoot to do all 5 of my pushup sets of around 50 pushups per set for the day in less than 2 hours?  perhaps? perhaps? That would need to be averaging 24 minutes between sets including the minute or so that it would take me to do each of the pushup sets.

Personally I didn't get sick from doing pushups but I got sick from the weather in my country. In my country there is a lot of dust in the streets and get cold fever. I can't move without a mask. If I go outside without a mask, I get feel cold because of the dust. I always use a mask when I go out. But 2-1 days ago I went out without a mask and suddenly got cold and fever, so I felt a little weak. Although my body is weak, I hvn't given up pushups, but now am completely healthy. Pushup is improving day by day and I think we can reach our milestone before winter starts.
Thank God that you recovered quickly. Try slowly and you will soon be able to do 100 push ups a day.

The weather in our country is very bad at present. It is very hot, if you sit without a fan, the body sweats. Excess sweat from the body weakens the body. Doing push-ups in the heat quickly drains the body of sweat so it becomes difficult to do too many push-ups. Yes, winter will start soon in our country, mild winter will start from this month. Generally it will be very good to exercise and push up in winter, exercise and push up in winter will not tire you quickly.

Because I was sick, my pushup system slowed down a bit. I couldn't do my earlier push ups due to physical weakness but today I am fully recovered and able to push up a bit more than before. Today's morale was very strong so I was able to give more pushups.

Sorry for about your health issues, in as much you are fully recovered I'd advise you take it slow with the work out, fine is good for the health but taking it nice and slow to allow your body to come back stronger to accept the pains is better than going hard on the work out. And again while doing your workout you need like 1or2 litre of water beside you, you go for like 30mins you take a glass or 2 and even when you don't feel like doing any exercise you have to be consistent with it at least 2 glasses of water every morning, it helps also to clear the system. Welcome back brother.

and two weeks later I've started up again, cant believe its been that long.

Have been really busy with no time for push ups, and its been cold in the mornings
which makes me not want to do any.

Reporting for yesterday and today! I have moved up to 10's, started each day first with
5 and then on to reps of 10. Definitely wouldnt have been able to do 10's when I first started
so definitely progress!
