Yeah telling people how much Bitcoin and other assets we have is a suicide. I mean you are just putting yourself and your family at risk. Giving people and idea how much wealth we have you are just giving them a hint and you make yourself and your family a target.
Of course no outsider will know how much bitcoins I have in my wallet except me and my family. Kidnapping is more likely, especially if outsiders know. But one thing is very important if family members know about bitcoins in my wallet then in case of any accident my family members can easily retrieve my left bitcoins and spend them in future for family needs.

I fully agree with this piece of advice, even your friends can betray you

So-called "friends" who betray you to others in order to get a share of your crypto are not really your friends, they are just hungry hyenas like from the Lion King who want to devour you.

Of course no outsider will know how much bitcoins I have in my wallet except me and my family. Kidnapping is more likely, especially if outsiders know. Family, only if you can trust them. You will not believe how many family members will turn on you with blackmail in order to get a share of your money, if you get wealthy.

I don't trust everyone in my family but I trust my parents to write down the private details of my wallet in a note book and keep it in a good secret place. Since I am single till now there is no way to share my bitcoin wallet with my children. Also, I have no family members except my parents, but in future if I get married, I can definitely share my Bitcoin wallet with my wife. But I believe my parents will never betray me.

You can trust people but have never been so open to them that you need to show how much you own (BTC). Because I believe there should be some gap between our friends and for security reasons, sometimes we need to hide especially when it comes to money. Because it was hard to determine who were really our true friends and who were not, and even in our family members, not all could be trusted. It is better to keep it private rather than let others know besides, we don't need appreciation instead, we need security as we know that not all our friends are happy with our achievements, even some of our family members.

I just wanted to share a piece of advice that I learned early on from Andreas Antonopoulos (if you don't know whom this is, I highly recommend looking up his YouTube page and watching his videos and or reading his book Mastering Bitcoin) never tell anyone how much bitcoin you have.  Andreas use to say it's not our job to teach everyone we know about bitcoin, letting them know we own some "Let that be my job" he would say.

I see so many people that come around here sharing how much bitcoin they own...don't.  Just like any of your finances such as your portfolio or how much your annual salary is..it's no one's business but your own.  Being transparent about these things can be harmful to you in a multitude of ways.  As an advisor this is something I tell my clients all the time.  Your financial info is private and should always remain that way.  I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!

for those who are early adopters at the moment it is no longer a question of money but of security
Be careful because there are unkind people around, take care of yourselves

It is not even if people can be trusted or not, I would say everybody can talk too much when having a drink or two, So best to keep your own mouth shut......if that is not possible you can hardly blame others.....

What op have shared is something I believe have been discussed here multiple time, well, I don't know how many, but atleast, I still remember coming across, and even commenting on same topics or subjects as this, a multiple time on this board.

Anyways, I completely agree with what is being discussed, it is always wrong to let people (both the ones we know, and ones we don't know personally) know how much bitcoin we own, and this rule is not peculiar to bitcoin alone, it is a rule we have to apply to our finance in general, the world have gone far from what it used to be in terms of safety, no one can be trusted even a sibling, letting people know how much bitcoin we own could also mean we selling ourself out, it's a very risky and dangerous thing to do honestly.

A question like that is a stupid one. Sorry for the term I used. It's like this: someone you don't know asks you how much is in your bank account. Of course, you have a bank account, and you know you have savings there. Will you tell the public how much your savings are?

My God! It's good that there are many intelligent communities on this forum platform who don't simply answer stupid questions. The majority of people who ask such questions may already have bad intentions or motives.

What you said is actually right, people always have that habit of trying to know how far you have gone In life or the achievement you have acquired so far. And that stuff leads to enviness and hatred. I have met several people who always ask me what I do? how much do I make or earn just as you said? But I literally don't give them a listening ears. Because I knew they are always upto something. Then I realise some quote I came across on Facebook that say. No body loves you, you must try as much as possible to treat yourself good, because people always come around you when you have something tangible. But when you are left with nothing they go there seperate ways.

Self security is very important in cryptocurrency, because your asset is you privacy and you privacy should be kept secretly to avoid hackers to penetrate. If you wallet has been compromised no body will be held responsible for it rather you. Many wallet has been hacked many years and currently. Do to pass phrase misplacement or indirectly reavieling wallet adress to strangers. some are even close or trusted friends. In the cryptocurrency investment there is nothing like beat friend or brother, except your next of kin. And that will even work after the demis of the original owner.

Better make your financial privacy and don't make the other know how much your assets exactly with how many bitcoin do you hold, will be opportunity for the other make your target for stealing bitcoin assets when some one know in your wallet hold how many bitcoin. make the financial information private is very important for us how to secure well our assets although get hold in wallet only but when some one in cryptocurrency know us in offline and they get information with how many bitcoin hold not secure yet with our security.

I don't know what the great achievement result when sharing or publishing portfolio assets exactly in social media account, some people want to get positive feedback and still has many people with many bitcoin holding make private without sharing yet their portfolio assets.

Actually it is just unnecessary to do so unless asked by people on the same industry if that one is closed to you. You won't for sure just mention about it out of nowhere 'coz that would be bragging ad irrelevant with them. I do understand the risk of attracting bad people but if they don't know that much then how come they would be having interest of this technology? And if they are also into this industry then it depends on how you will perceive that person; you cannot hide intentions. As much as possible it would be better not to talk about how much you are having, and for sure it won't be a norma thing to just mention it out of nowhere.

Like with some of my friends. They know that I am having investments in crypto industry hut they never insisted knowing particular numbers and won't be having the initiative to do it as well. Even with family members, instances would be different. It is either they become interested of it as well or it will be an excuse for them to borrow money from you. So what's the need to do so?

Bitcoin is designed to promote privacy and financial freedom, and sharing your investment details to others would mean breaking its purpose. You will not gain privacy anymore as a lot of the people around will surely monitor your investment outcome. It’s either to imitate you in the future or worst, set some plans of scamming you so they can steal your bitcoin, that is indeed very threatening for us. This is the reason why as much as possible, invest bitcoin on your own. Do not tell other people that you are currently working on your bitcoin investment, it would mean a success to you but for them, it would create a distraction on their part. Know what and when to share, and know when not to.

Bitcoin is a highly precious investment, and that you are responsible to keep its safety and security at all times. Telling other people that you have bitcoin will compromise your own safety, as well as the security of your coins.

It was never meant for financial freedom but rather it has been created for the sole purpose of p2p transactions without 3rd party involvement on which this is really something revolutionary and the main reason
on why it did really gain that too much traction because of such thing and it did turn out that investing also did kicked in considering on how much value that it had become on the time that it did get attention or simply with the demand on which it wont really be that shocking that people would really be focusing out into its potential when it comes to money making or profits on simply just via holding it.
This is why you cant blame out those people around or in the market on having those thoughts that you would really be able to make yourself some money on simply holding it.

Speaking about telling someone on how much you do have those coins you do possess then you are really that putting yourself in possible trouble. Yes, it cant be detected or known but
we dont know on who are the ones who are really just that lurking in the shadows and really just the finding the right opportunity for them to get or stole those coins.

If someone asks, how many bitcoins do you have? Or how much is your monthly salary Or how much money is in your bank account? Then should always avoid such words. Remember as long as you stay under cover and secret you are safe. Because more or less everyone is greedy for money, if you tell everyone now how many bitcoins you have or how much money you have in your bank account, you will see that later they will be greedy and start threatening you. Be it a friend or someone from one's family, when one gets greedy one forgets about relationship and wants to grab money at any cost. And they can do anything to get this money like kidnapping or blackmail. So always be as private as possible, and never tell anyone about your bitcoins, assets and bank balance. This will keep you safer.

The truth is, you can’t trust people when it comes to money and finances. Because no matter what we say, being greedy is normal for us. It’s just that some other people managed to take control of their greed, but majority still fail to do so. Most especially for bitcoin where it’s value is greater than fiat’s value. It’s still a lot better if you don’t let the people around you know that you have bitcoin in your portfolio. Otherwise, not only you are breaking your privacy, but you are also allowing them to be aware of the amount of investment you are safekeeping which will be put into compromised later on.

Your keys, your coins. You are supposed to keep it privately to protect your anonymity. And while bitcoin remains the most profitable and expensive investment these days, then the more that you will protect its security so that scammers will never have an access to it.

Unlike before, if people know that you are investing in Bitcoin these days, they will see you as a rich person. This is because Bitcoin is too popular this time and they also think that only rich people can afford to do buy this due to its price. But this is not the issue why we should keep anonymous and protect our privacy. We did not tell people for the sake of having a peaceful life not worrying about what the people outside are talking or planning. It is better to keep them out of their site so they won't suspect us for something. Keeping things like this in private will help us save from unwanted solicitations as they care less about us.

I couldn't agree with you more brother, this is such wisdom and a best practice to go by. The less information you give out about yourself the better. Especially in these AI models who knows what the information you input in how its going to be used. Be vigilant in your defense and mind your business.

There are actually some benefits if you share your actual experiences in earning BTC. But I do agree with your statement that sharing specifically the amount that you have in BTC can be dangerous for your safety and security. Even if we are somehow anonymous in this forum, there may be ways where people could track your location, thereby compromising your safety in the process.

I do get it that some people share their earnings as a form of inspiration to others in order to attract more people in investing in cryptocurrencies. But, there are ways to inspire without even compromising your safety in the process. By sharing your earnings, there can also be a misunderstanding that you are bragging instead of inspiring.

Family, only if you can trust them. You will not believe how many family members will turn on you with blackmail in order to get a share of your money, if you get wealthy.
When talking about something of value in the end, it doesn't matter if it's family or not, all of them will definitely have the same nature when they are hungry they will prey so even if it is our own family as long as you are able not to leak your portfolio then I think it will still be very good.

There are so many cases where families become enemies or criminalization occurs just because of economic and money problems. with reference to this it is not impossible that bitcoin can also be a source of division and criminality even though it happens among our own family because in the end when talking about business and tengan protopolio that we have even our own family can be someone we did not expect at first.
Instead of things that don't want to happen, it's better to close what should be your privacy.

I'm not going to lie, my view of people overall is not very high.  However I don't think it's right to necessarily say that you can't trust anyone.  I for sure wouldn't and don't trust most people.  However if you're not financially savvy, there's nothing wrong with hiring an advisor and placing trust in them, as long as they are doing the right things/good at their profession.

You've also got to make sure you let someone in your family know about your bitcoin, or at least have it written our in your living will stating how to access it, and perhaps how much you have..that way upong your passing your bitocin is not going to the grave with you.
