AMD Radeon RX 8800 XT to Boost Over 3GHz, will Feature Tensor Units, Fabbed on 4nm Node AMD's RDNA 4 samples, fabbed on 4nm, are boosting between 3GHz and 3.3GHz https://www.hardwaretimes.com/amd-radeon-rx-8800-xt-to-boost-over-3ghz-will-feature-tensor-units-fabbed-on-4nm-node/MD’s Radeon RX 8000 GPUs are expected to land in the second half of the year, targeting the budget and midrange segments for gaming supremacy. The RX 8900 XTX was an advanced chiplet design with 10+ dies but was canceled. This leaves the RX 8800 XT, 8700 XT, and the RX 8600 XT. As reported previously, the RX 8800 XT will be a $500 GPU, offering comparable performance to the RX 7900 XTX (for ~half as much $$$).

There are not even synthetic tests yet, and you are asking for mining tests. After the video card is released, miner developers will need time to optimize their miners for the new video cards. And Kawpow works very well on cheaper video cards.

And Kawpow works very well on cheaper video cards. No matter how well behave these cards right now mining is not profitable at all,the prices of such latest series cards will be expensive and not at all worth for mining unless someone will take the risk of building a rig with those hoping for a bright future in mining and he will have predicted x3-x5 prices of such cards when that happens. That though is extremely unlikely and the fact that most people are not caring at all about the Nvidia latest series and AMD latest series available chances will be high that the same dis interest will be also on the upcoming top series.

I think that there will be no revolution, given the conditions that AMD does not produce analogs of top-end Nvidia video cards, but makes video cards for the average gaming segment. Most likely we will see the RX 7900 XTX with lower power consumption, and it will not be in great demand among miners.

AMD Navi 48 is the first confirmed RDNA4 GPU The NV48, not to be mistaken with 20-year-old NVIDIA NV48 GPU is the short codename for AMD Navi 48, the next generation discrete GPU. The development for this RDNA4-based GPUs has progressed, and it has now reached the ROCm (Radeon Open Compute Platform) Validation Suite.
AMD software engineers are preparing the groundwork for the GPU by introducing the first patches, including build target and initial configuration files, for the GPU. Sadly, this update does not provide any confirmation on the specs.
AMD has not confirmed when or in what form the RDNA4 architecture will be released, but rumors have pointed towards scaling down the plans by not introducing high-end GPUs in the upcoming generation. The new Radeon 8000 series might be based on two GPUs alone.https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-begins-development-for-rdna4-based-navi-48-gpu-on-rocm-platform

AMD Radeon RX 8000 Series rumors: Everything we know about RDNA 4 Radeon RX 5000 series was released July 7, 2019 Radeon RX 6000 series was released March 18, 2021 Radeon RX 7000 series was released December 13, 2022 With that in mind, we predict a Q4 2024 launch for the AMD RX 8000 series of GPUs. Given that the previous RX 7000 series launched in late 2022, this sets a precedent for late-year graphical releases from AMD. This would also align with releases on the other side of the GPU market: with rumors of an Nvidia RTX equivalent that is expected to launch in late 2024 as well. Though as these sources suggest, a 2025 release wouldn’t be surprising given the success of RDNA 3.0.

i think that even if the price/performance is right. The fact that we cant tune them like we did from the 6000 series back, they will still be very inefficient and no one will want to mine with them. If morepowertool works again, i might consider buying an AMD like i did before

When Ethereum was expensive and could be mined on video cards, miners bought laptops and game consoles and no one cared about price/quality. I think the only question here is the emergence of new coins for mining. While there are no coins for mining on video cards with a quick payback, the demand for video cards will be low.

But at that time, due to eth profitability and chip shortage, gpu prices skyrocketed and like you said, people mined with whatever they could find. I dont think this will happen anymore, we will see

And that was recently. I read stories of miners who paid for their video cards in a week when mining GRAM.

Radeon RX 8000 rumors point towards slower GDDR6 memory Kepler was among the first to reveal that AMD is scrapping its plans for big Navi4 GPUs, and this information is slowly being confirmed directly by AMD. As of now, there’s no sign of larger Navi GPUs that could potentially replace RX 7900 models in the near future. However, changes are to be expected in the mid-range and entry-level segments with the introduction of Navi 48 and Navi 44 GPUs based on the RDNA4 architecture. These GPUs are expected to power cards like the Radeon RX 8800, 8700, 8600, and 8500 series, depending on whether one looks at the desktop or mobile lineup. AMD hasn’t confirmed the arrival time of such GPUs or the scope of the RDNA4 launch, but recent information suggests that next-gen GPUs might utilize relatively slower 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory, despite the expected mass production of faster GDDR7 memory by the of this year.
