As an electrical engineer who has been in the crypto space, this idea crossed my mind:

Build mobile mining units equipped with solar panels and batteries that can be deployed to remote locations or rural areas with abundant sunlight. Offer these units as a service to Bitcoin miners looking to decentralize their operations and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. provide power for house holds and also provide mobile solar-powered irrigation systems. Two products: one supports bitcoin mining and the other(irrigation) does not; however, both have incentives in some redeemable green energy credits.

My idea is specifically targeted for the African market with poor electricity, low irrigation activities, and the least financial inclusion.

The aim of this idea is to:
  • Promote green mining
  • provide electricity for house holds
  • support irrigation activities
  • and also support Bitcoin decentralization

Your inputs and criticism are welcome.
Thanks

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Gridless did something similar in the past [minus the irrigation part] and it was somewhat successful in raising a good amount of funds... I like both of your products, but I think putting your resources into the mining part would yield better results than if you were to launch both of these products.

But what about the price?  Such units would certainly be costly, much more than the classic on-grid miners (solar panels, batteries, inverters...). Who would be willing to finance such a potentially costly endeavor, given the already established, more affordable on-grid mining options?

I like both of your products, but I think putting your resources into the mining part would yield better results than if you were to launch both of these products.

Combining both could result in a very valuable spreading vector ..

Concentration on mining only will oppose the problem of finding the localities where to put the installations with all the inconveniences that go with that.

Also combining the both it a important point.. as it solves the disadvantages, or gives more efficiency about the electricity storage.. deploying more panels will produce enough in a way the surplus durin the day will serve for mining !!

But what about the price?  Such units would certainly be costly, much more than the classic on-grid miners (solar panels, batteries, inverters...). Who would be willing to finance such a potentially costly endeavor, given the already established, more affordable on-grid mining options?
Surely they're thinking of a strategy to provide the installation at promotional prices. So people can profit from a very efficient product/installation at a good price, in addition to receiving a share of the revenue from mining!
