This generation are in the the worst economy era and i think with level we have gotten to the goverment is helpless which they need every citizen to help fight this difficult situation. Like if you go the market, you will see things that has nothing to do with dollar, commodities that are being made from our own country very expensive and this are the same people complaining about the bad government.  When dollar increases the price of goods and services increases too and if dollar price drops the price of commodities still remain the same instead of to also drop in price. It is just as if some people are just using this difficult time as an advantage to make money for themselves. The price of things are not being regulated according to the movement of dollar,  if price of things are being regulated with the movement of dollar I don't think things will be this difficult.  In our country when price of things goes up instead of it to falls when dollar price drops it remains like that, with such attitude from our marketers I don't think we will be able to fight this economy challenge.

As citizens ready to fight for ourselves and for our country, we can individually own and work on farms, so as to provide food for ourselves and our family first and eventually sell these farm produce at cheaper rates to others close to us. Why is a bag of pure water 500 naira when the content isn't even pure?

Well the matter is critical. Nobody should deceive us again this government will not or can't do anything to stop this hard instead it will increase the more because if this government can do something he would have done some to sustain the hard first before fighting the situation to be over but he is very much relaxed that nothing is happening in the country. We can also help by not using this inflation as an advantage to make money. Because many business people are using this opportunity of inflation to add increase the price of their goods and services.  Doing this will make things more difficult for us.

For a very longtime the price of fuel have been 660 naira since July 2023, it was about some weeks ago that the price of fuel increased above 660naira. And when the price of fuel was 660 the price of commodities,  services and other things have been increasing everyday if I am not mistaken, so tell me what is the cause of the steady increase of things when the price of fuel is stable which was 660 naira. But you will notice that every little increased of the dollar price of things change immediately,  we all can testify to do because I believe majority of us here base in Nigeria. And when you as marketers why has the price of this item changed they will quick point to dollar,  and which is true.

This is where the government have to come in and take action.
It will be very difficult for people to reduce the price of things on their own. Naturally humans are greedy in nature and will want to take every opportunity to their advantage. The government should now impose prises for all the locally produced goods. They should make the law and enforce it, the watch out if the prices of locally manufactured commodities will not drop within a week. The problem is our government and politicians have shares in those companies that are producing local goods.

In my opinion, i know think say na the farmers they increase the price of the product, some farmers no get any other job doing apart from farming, sometimes no matter what dey invest no be everytime dem too dey get the kind of profits they always want. At this moment many farmers are selling their farm products at a cheap price because sometimes if new farm product comot the price dey reduce, and sometimes e no dey reduce, so some farmers wey no get anything than to sell their farm product to solve some other problems, them dey sell am at a cheap prices, na all this rich people dey buy am keep at a cheap price, if time come wey everybody dey shout for country say foods stuff price dey increase, na that moment all these rich people wey buy am at cheap prices go dey pack am comot, since all the products no dey plenty for market again and we no get choice than to buy am, at the end they will now begin to sell it for us at a high price, e dey affect many farmers because that time dem no dey get money to buy am again. Secondly, the demand for farm products is high now because they are scarce due to the news that floods will hit some parts of Nigeria last year. The news of the flood made some farmers who used to be affected by floods harvest their farm products prematurely in order not to be at a total loss. When the farmers, who are not always affected by the flood, harvest their farm products, they will have no choice but to sell them at a high cost because farm products will be hard to get.

so what you are saying in essence is that if the marketers buys their goods during the period when the price of dollar was high and it affected the price they bought goods in the market, they should reduce their price and sell bellow  the amount they bought their goods just because the price of dollar suddenly came down? the market women are business people that are still looking for profit and because of how unsteady the price of goods is in the market, you cant blame them whenever they leave goods at certain peak price at moment when ideally they are supposed to bring it down.

even if they are selling product that has nothing to do with exchange rate, as long as the price of transportation and other things they also buy is increasing, its only normal for them to join in increasing the price of there commodity. but like your topic says, to solve the current economic crisis is not something that should be left in the hands of our government alone cause the reality is that they've failed to proffer any meaningful solution at the moment. each and every one of us have the responsibility of contributing our quarter  in ensuring that we depend more on locally manufactured goods rather relying on imported goods that is affected by dollar to naira relation.

if only we can improve on the quality of our locally manufactured goods, no one will be looking outside that much. because of how good we have become in the production of Garri, even if other countries decide to bring in their garri to us, no one will want to take that above our regular garri but look at the quality of local rice for instance, the quality is too bad that regardless of how cheap local rice becomes, i will never choose it over imported rice and that's also what's applicable to other goods that are imported. the quality of our locally manufacture products are very bad and if we don't want to improve on it, we will still continue to depend on imported goods and the depreciation of the naira to the dollar will continue to become our major problem.

Oga calm down atleast e still dey on point because as the country be now the matter tire everybody and na all these inflation dey affect dollar rate and even the price of commodity for the country. The problem is that there are no price regulatory policies in Nigeria who will help to curtail this kind of rise in price that are not acceptable by its people. It is clear that people are taking advantage of the rise in dollar to add price to what they’re all selling. We are also the architect of our own problems and without full intervention of the government, things will only get worser. I remember buying a commodity last week from the same market with two different price, it was very shocking when I was told that. At the time, the seller of the product told me that everyone is just putting their price and no regulations. Which is very bad to hear.

What I discovered going in this market traders is that most of them want to use the current economic status and the issues of the dollar rate to get rich. If not, the way things are increasing in the market is almost getting out of hand; it's as if something is increasing every minute. To be honest, market traders also play a role in the country's current inflation rate. Even if the government wants to help, they will not see what they are doing because the people they want to help are not helping themselves. Although I have been following the news, I see that our president has called all the representatives of the business community of Nigeria, like Dangote, Tony Elumelu, and others, to discuss about the economic stability, growth, and how to tackle the current economic hardship in the country. 
 
So if we definitely want to see the end of this current economic situation, we have to also plan our own efforts to see that the market traders are selling their goods at the price that is supposed to be not increasing anyhow because many people find it hard to feed themselves these days and talk less about doing other needs for themselves.

What the nation is facing now is an act of bad governance the system is corrupt, I believe this is the worst period to be a Nigerian the deal has been done the judiciary and the eleco chairman should be blame for what Nigerians are passing through now.
